I’ve always wanted to go to Henrietta’s Table. The fact that it’s in its third decade should mean something. Unfortunately, our experience was more of a B instead of the A+ it truly should have been.
Menu (food and drink choices)
Sat us early
Broccoli cheddar soup was divine.
Oatmeal cake for dessert was delish.
Sangria was amazing!
Despite restaurant being empty (literally), service was slow & took forever. Server didn’t check on us once. Only time he came to table was to bring us food for various courses. We needed to flag him down whenever we needed something.
Kale salad & beets (both appetizers) were underwhelming. Descriptions were lovely but if you’re a foodie, you’ll be disappointed. Both were lacking.
Brussels sprouts (side dish) were so boring & flavorless. Literally boiled with some chopped bacon on top. Nothing you’d expect from a supposed delicious farm-to-table restaurant. I’m no cook and I could have done this myself. Not sure what the chef actually did? Don’t bother ordering these.
Pot roast. Well, I love pot roast but this was all over the place. The meat & gravy were tender and flavorful but sadly it sat on top of about two tablespoons of mashed potatoes. That’s it!
Also, the dish was supposed to come with carrots. The chef somehow forgot to add the carrots. So meat & potatoes it was. This would have been good enough had it not been for the amount of salt added to the dish. The crispy fried leaks added to this meal, as well as the mushy portabella mushrooms (which the menu made no mention of and mushrooms are a deal breaker for many people!) were so disgustingly salty.
Lastly, and to no real fault of the restaurant but they could have said something, an older gentleman sitting at the bar literally coughed for twenty minutes. Nonstop. It was, in a word, awful. Imagine trying to enjoy a meal at a nice restaurant with a man hacking up a lung for everyone to see and hear. Not pleasant!
Great food, service, and atmosphere- as usual. Not disappointed
Good experience, friendly staff, the menu is somewhat limited, but the food was very good.
Always a pleasant time for a business breakfast or lunch.
Terrific experience with talented and congenial wait staff and hosts. Food choices coud be enlarged but what is offered is very very good. Considering Covid as the challenge it is, this place is doing a remarkable job!
A beautiful ambience for a Sunday brunch date
The spinach salad was great... so was the pot roast and vanilla bean cheesecake. My husband's John Dory fish was just okay.
Had a wonderful dinner! Always go for breakfast but this was also super. Husband and daughter had pot roast which they loved. I had the vegetarian bowl which was surprisingly tasty. Desert of chocolate bread pudding topped off a delicious farm to table experience.
Always good. Our go-to place in Cambridge. Food fresh, and good service. Nice surroundings, parking available (I park on street usually).
It was my second visit, and a first for my three friends. I’d never been for lunch before, but the dinner I had there four years ago was delectable.
Today, the panini was soggy, so my friend had to exchange it for the B.L.T. My Grain Bowl was flavorful and enjoyable, but quite a modest portion given its pricing. They liked the cheesecake, and I liked my sangria sorbet.
Overall, it was a fair experience, but admittedly, it may be another four years before I return.
Henrietta's is famous for the best BLT sandwiches. We are frequent patrons. Yesterday's BLT's were a total disappointment. The bread was thin and stale, the lettuce, tomatoes were less than minimal and thankfully the bacon was good. We're not planning on returning after 20 years. A sad disappointment.
Excellent service and food.
Always a great choice, for excellent food, service, and pleasantness! And for COVID safety, staff is masked and tables are at a good distance from each other.
Amazing customer service and the food was delicious! The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Outstanding!
A child's menu should be considered.
Many of the entrees were not likely to entice children's tastes.
Went for brunch , great food , nice waitpersons , lovely ambiance , they speacialize in farm to table food, freshest salad in town !
Had dinner at the bar. Great service and great food.
Charles/Henrietta's Table just off Harvard Square is very convenient & excellent food and value.
The service was slow but the food was good. Thanks.
Great spot for a business breakfast. The location and atmosphere is perfect. The food is excellent.
The prices are silly.
Two people. Two scrambled eggs. A side order of bacon. A granola parfait. Tea.
We were a little disappointed that the menu options had changed since our last visit two years ago with our family. Everything this time was a la carte and we would have liked the option to combine various elements of the meal to save a little money. But the food was fine as always, and we appreciated the friendliness of the staff, especially when a dozen of them surrounded our table at the end of the evening to sing Happy Birthday to our 42-year-old son.
Food was ok. Not as great as I had before. Cold roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts blends
Service and food was excellent. Staff were masked which was in compliance with local laws, and the overall ambiance was great.
Recommend for those looking for a quiet, good-ambiant brunch place within a walking distance from the Harvard Square. I prefer coming here for dinner however.
Nice Nice place to eat before the theater. Food was good nothing special. The service was great. The restaurant is just a standard go to place when you want to have a decent meal
Very disappointed. Food was mediocre, quiche was served cold, salad wasn’t tossed, soup was over cooked and served barely warm and pancakes came plain when we specifically asked for chocolate chips. No one retuned to ask how we were doing. This was a special occasion brunch that turned out to be a very sad experience.
Great ambiance, and we loved the farm to table concept.
We tried Henrietta's table for lunch and were disappointed. The menu was limited and , really, uninteresting, mostly salads and sandwiches. The sandwiches were BLT and Chicken Clubs, served on toasted soft white bread. The chicken club was piled high with sheredded chicken, tomato, bacon, lettuce, etc., a lot of food in all, and so bulky that it had to be eaten with a knife andf fork. Had it been delicious one would have been grateful for the amount. But the chicken was dry, the bacon over-cooked and soggy: it was too much of a not very good thing. Given the setting, an elegant hotel in Cambridge, I expected better. Henritetta's Table is a throwback to the days when "hotel" food meant dull and lackluster, as if there hadn't been a revolution in American cooking, as if Julia Child hadn't been a Cambridge personality.
Was hoping for the Brunch Buffet this weekend there, but COVID took that away too.
Service was excellent, meal was so-so - my friend's hash was served cold (for the record, it should have been hot) and my quiche, while tasty, was tepid temps-wise.
the side greens were fresh and very lightly dressed, which I like, but it was literally, just greens.
It's like there were major cost-cutting measures in place around the meal accoutrements, with no portion adjustment to compensate for the not-cheap-prices.
I was disappointed when I compared it to the last time I had been there for the glorious brunch. As a hotel restaurant, it was fine, but about 25% over what they should have been charging.
I was curious about the pork chop, since I’ve never had a tender or flavorful pork chop in a restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised…the pork chop was excellent! As was everything else. We loved the bread pudding dessert as well.
Family event, eight at round table, perfect
Delicious food, with great variety. Friendly & fast service.
We had a great evening!
Ordered my favorite (Yankee Pot Roast) but asked to substitute spiced cauliflower for the mashed potatoes, They did that but omitted any carrots and meat serving was skimpy. Disappointed for first time. The pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic.
Always good, whenever in Cambridge we go! Keep up the good !
Henrietta’s Table brings to my mind so many memories. I was eager to share one of my favorite restaurants with a dear friend. Our dining experience was good overall.
However, I made a reservation the day before and requested a corner table since my friend and I hadn’t seen each other for 10 years, and we wanted a quiet table with a view. Instead, we were given a middle table near the front counter. Our waiter said all the corner tables have been occupied for several hours by patrons who arrived for breakfast and didn’t leave.
Second, my Whole Grain dish was tasty but was too small of a portion. Whereas My friend’s dish was the right proportionbut the dressing tasted of anchovies.
But I’m glad the restaurant is still open amidst so many changes in Harvard Square. And the service was very good.
The food was solid. The lunch menu was basic and serviceable. The ambiance was nice.
Favorite place for breakfast. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Good was very good, table spacing felt safe and comfortable, and it wasn’t too loud. Best was they let us sit for a long time, catching up with old friends. Very nice experience over all.
the menu was very limited for a Sunday brunch. The service was poor, although the Manager seems very helpful as was the barman. Sorry but in comparison to restaurants in Boston, Henrietta's is a no go in future for me.
PS Serving a slice of partially melted camembert that was literally insulting my intelligence and good nature it was so small as an entree and charging for a whole camembert pretty much sums up Henrietta's in a nutshell.
Great meal, ambiance definitely felt like you were in a hotel, but food and prices didn’t feel that way at all
