The food was excellent, but the cost for the breakfast buffet was absurd. $55/person!!
Food was unremarkable.
Good menu with nice local varieties and farm to table offerings. The salads are my favorite as they are fresh and have many seasonal ingredients
We were looking forward to the experience based on website and advertorials, but Henrietta failed to convince. A stale, rather common looking large hotel restaurant with average fare and equally underwhelming service.
Menu was very limited. Only good for people who like nontraditional food and menu items. Food was not well seasoned and bland.
Great place for a dinner on family vacation. Only one complaint - the clam/corn chowder was bland, needed lots of seasoning.
I've always enjoyed summer evenings on Henrietta's patio. Try to have at least one meal a year out there. We always have a consistently good meal and experience and keep coming back.
Always a great place for lunch in Harvard Square. It's nice to be able to sit outside in the good weather.
My friend and I had a lovely evening on the patio. The meal was excellent and the servers busy, so somewhat inattentive. When we got their attention, they were very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely come back again, especially for the midweek dinners that were so reasonably priced.
A very fine farm to table restaurant with well prepared meals. A must visit.
Great place for families and/or friends to share common experience
As always, perfect. The brunch buffet is a cornucopia of wonderful dishes; it's impossible to try everything. And the atmosphere is cheerful, conversational, and welcoming. My favorite restaurant on the planet.
Birthday for me, but had to also cater towards my 2.5 yr old. Love the food - so wholesome and gives me plenty of options as a pescatarian.
In my OpenTable reservation, I asked for "quiet table if possible." However, we were seated at a table in the middle of the floor, right next to a table set for eight, where people were seated shortly after we arrived. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived, and it did not get crowded while we were there, so I don't understand why my request was ignored.
We went for Saturday brunch and all ended up doing the 3-course meal. It was delicious! As someone from the South, I was pleasantly surprised by the pork BBQ and grits. The mocktails were a bit too tart, but it was refreshing not to have a super sweet drink. Even on the weekend at noon, the restaurant wasn’t jam-packed. I’d highly recommend for weekend brunch with friends you want to catch up with!
Just the place for a quiet conversation
I was meeting someone for the first time and wanted an easy-going ambiance, delicious, fresh food, and the ability to carry on a robust conversation without struggling to hear each other. Henrietta's Table satisfied every need, and I am grateful. I will be back!
Great food. Service at lunch needs work
I’d recommend someone for breakfast, but definitely not for dinner. The breakfast served at Henrietta’s is excellent! The dinner was not so great: the pork chop was way over cooked and the fried tofu with shiitake mushrooms had so few mushrooms in it that you had to move everything else around in the dish to find any.
Service was rather slow. Place was crowded and loud - seemed to be mostly business people. Food was good. I will go back given the convenience but I wasn’t “wowed”.
Great food (Loved the fried tofu at lunch). Patio was wonderful. Service was attentive. Henrietta's Table is always a great bet.
My husband and I enjoyed a Father's Day dinner here. The mushroom soup was delicious, the cod and asparagus cooked perfectly! The coconut lemon pie was so yummy! Recommend!
We had not been to Sunday brunch at Henrietta's in many years and are now mad at ourselves for not doing so. It is fantastic. Food, service, ambiance. We had anticipated that the price would be far above what we anticipated but it was less. Less than the Colonial Inn in Concord whose brunch has gone downhill so much these last few years.
Will be definitely coming back again. And again!
Always reliable with very fine food, not overpriced.
Terrific place to have lunch in Cambridge for business or pleasure. The service is excellent, the food is consistently good with fresh ingredients, and the Charles Hotel location is conveniently close to Harvard Square. Can be a little noisy.
The experience was surprisingly subpar. I brought business partners from Singapore and Canada here for dinner. The waiter (with a small pong tail) was totally indifferent and could not care less. When he took our order, he had to ask three times and still managed to get the table mixed up. He addressed me as “you over there” while tilting his chin and took my order, which was rude and embarrassing to me because I was the one who brought them here. There were so many other choices in the area, so this experience was really not good. In the middle of the first course, he came and asked if anyone wanted a drink, and one colleague ordered wine, which never came. Not once did he return to ask how we liked our food. It was a Monday evening and the restaurant was not crowded. I have dined here many times and I have never encountered a waiter who just couldn’t care less. Food was good as always. To be addressed as “you over there” with a condescending tone was not nice. The good part is that a tall wait staff who speaks French was really nice and it compensated the attitude of our waiter.
I come to Henrietta's Table with my cousin about once a month. The food is always excellent. My only complaint is that sometimes the services is a bit slow and I feel rushed to eat my lunch. I only have one hour for lunch, and I don't like feeling like I have to hurry. Otherwise, HT is always the best! I rue the day the Yankee Pot Roast falls off the menu...
Not sure how this restaurant has the ratings it has. The food was just ok and the heralded buffet was a disappointment. The price is completely incongruous with the quality and selection. I can not recommend this restaurant.
The food is always wonderful. Plenty of variety. It takes will power to not over do it but the desserts are beautiful and tasty. I also like the seafood.
We had an old friends get together for brunch. Most had not seen each other for years. We had a round table for six, but we squeezed in seven at our choice to enable conversation.
The food selections were ok, but for $55 were not special. The oysters were tiny and somewhat dried out. The other dishes were slightly better than cafeteria fare. Unfortunately, the serving tables just cannot handle the number of diners. There was uncomfortable jostling to reach certain foods.
I would not recommend the Sunday brunch to anyone.
The food was amazing!! Every single dish was prepared with creativity and care. The scallops were as good as any I've ever tasted. Same is true with pork chop. What was probably the hit of the evening was the liver pate! Even if you don't like pate, I think you would love this one!
I loved Henrietta's Table! The food was all delicious and tasted very fresh. Their blueberry and blackberry mini pie with vanilla ice cream was the highlight. The chicken pate special was also delicious.
The food was good but somewhat boring. The atmosphere was very nice. Overall not worth the price for lunch.
The Mahi mahi was overcooked and dry. It took 40 minutes to get our entrees. It was a beautiful evening outside and the waiter tried hard. Many customers including us were headed to the Regatta Bar for jazz. That should have been no surprise to the kitchen.
For the second time service was poor; tables that were seated after us were ordering first. This time we spoke up and the service improved. There was a party in an adjoining room which was very loud and made it difficult at times to hold a conversation in the main dining room. There is no place to be seated away from the noise. Henrietta's Table is not inexpensive and the dining experience was not great again, so we probably won't go back.
Service was difficult.
We were not seated on time (yes, there were stragglers, but we had people present who had time commitments, and were inconvenienced); also, the tone from the host was dismissive and peremptory.
The actual service was quite slow; I had to ask to have our orders taken, for more tea, and (twice) for the check. Your inability to issue either checks per diner or to order the check by seat was also inconvenient.
The food, on the other hand, was delicious as usual.
There was a table of approximately 12 in the middle of the dining room, and the noise level was too high.
Our server was inattentive and extremely slow to respond to standard service levels.
We were seated right away and in the perfect place for a larger party. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere wonderful. The service was not. It was very slow which was frustrating because we had another engagement to get to and we were further aggravated by having our tip already included and not at our discretion. Not sure we will bring a large party there again.
Terrific food and service. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint!
The duck with the confit leg is delicious. I share the plate with my husband and with two sides it’s always enough food between us. Staff is always very warm and accommodating.
