Henrietta's Table Ratings and Reviews
I go to Henrietta's Table fairly frequently, usually before a show at the Regatta Bar and may be just getting bored with it. It seems to me that the food is becoming less interesting and less carefully prepared, while getting more expensive. On my last visit, I had a fish dish that was a special and it was OK but certainly a delicious $26 entree. The fish was good but slightly overcooked and the sauces and other components of the dish just did not meld into a satisfying meal. The crab cakes were OK but not wonderful. The staff were great; very helpful and able to get us to the show ontime.
We came for my birthday and there was something for everyone. We loved the raw bar. My son has a nut allergy and the chef took him through the brunch buffet and alerted him to any unsafe foods. Everyone had a fabulous time, we will return best brunch we have been to.
Food was creative. 21st Century Tofu was fantastic. Never had anything like it.
Only trouble was the food and wine took a while to come once the out of this world smoked salmon appetizer arrived.
Just too hard to find servers these days. I understand.
Also I had to ask to make sure they did not charge us a plate split for an appetizer.
All in al we will be back many more times!
We were seated at a table close to the kitchen area and across from station where bills were handled. I immediately told our waitress we were going to a play and needed to leave by a certain time. The salads came out quickly our entrees took 45 minutes to appear, leaving us a short time to finish dinner. I've mainly been there for breakfast but think I'm now done with Henrietta's Table.
Delicious food, great service, and a very pleasant ambience. I got the 21st century tofu, my mom got the rotisserie chicken, and my dad got the chili--all of us loved what we ordered. My mom and I are both picky eaters, so it's a rare restaurant that we both really like. Highly recommended.
I've been to Henrietta's twice, both times for catch ups with friends. The first time (2010) that I went I found the atmosphere to be fabulous - lots of happy people, a noticeable buzz, beautiful decor. The service was friendly and professional, and the food delicious.
This time (2017) - the food was still excellent and the portion sizes extremely generous. The decor is also still lovely! However the service was really lacklustre and the restaurant was almost empty (this at 12pm on a Saturday!). It felt like the staff didn't want to be there. All in all I left feeling that I probably wouldn't organize another catch up at this venue .
A friend I hadn't seen for a couple of years and I met around her birthday. She had crab cakes, picking them because she'd remember them, there, and found them as delicious this time. I had the basic mixed greens with pulled chicken and persuaded our server not to make it as huge as it usually is presented. We shared a dessert and the server had put a candle on it for my friend, and she was pleased. It was a lengthy, cheerful, delicious, truly pleasant occasion, a fine meeting for long-time friends.
As always we feel welcome and at home by the staff at Henrietta's Table. Service was both friendly and professional. All four of us enjoyed our dinners. My crab cakes were especially tasty... very fresh with a zesty spice flavor. Will return again the next time we are staying at The Charles Hotel, also a favorite of ours!
Food was mediocre (soggy crab cakes, rock solid freezing cold pate, overdressed salad) & service was subpar (had to ask for water several times, tried to take the bill from us before we had a chance to pay which made us feel rushed, aloof waiters & waitresses). Disappointing.
This is the second time I have been to Henrietta's for brunch and I can now say that I am not terribly satisfied. The brunch is expensive - $55/person, plus tax - which is fine. However, the quality of the food does not live up to the price tag. Most dishes were average - good, but nothing special.
In addition to that, the restaurant was absolutely FREEZING. The air-conditioner was blowing over our head the entire 2 hours and even though I requested 3 times to resolve the issue, nothing was ever actually done.
No one greeted us out front. Went inside, someone came around to take us to the table. Ordered the duck. There was a breast piece and leg piece. The leg piece tasted fine aka cooked, the breast pieces felt and tasted like a rubber. Tried the salmon special from my friend's dish, it smelled and tasted raw (and I have grown up eating fish). I will not recommend this place for food. The ambiance however was pretty nice when the trees lighting went up.
A truly lovely and thoughtfully designed restaurant in every aspect. Homelike and comfortable for breakfast or lunch with lots of options for all types of dietary requirements. I have none so it was especially wonderful to enjoy all the local produce, meats and honey. Inventive menu items for everyone.
