This is my good to place. Good location. Excellent food.
Excellent food and service. One of the best places in Boston and Cambridge. No pretensions, just simple and good.
The Brunch is way over priced.
The food was just okay. Disappointing for a restaurant that used to be excellent.
Chowder could definitely be warmer. It was not cold but not warm enough.
Tofu tasted great, though a bit too heavy on the pepper.
My friends love the bread and food.
My wife had the vegetarian plate, it was very good, but also a bit heavy on the pepper.
Have been to Henrietta before and thought it was top notch. This particular night it was very busy. Waiter seemed overwhelmed. Two of us ordered soup, salad and a side. We wanted the soup first, then the salad and side for our meal. Soup was lukewarm and bland. We were served the salad and never recei
Enjoyed the dinner with my wife! The service was excellent.
Totally overrated for poor, snobby service. I had heard great things about Henrietta's Table and figured that such an elegant place in Harvard Square would provide a nice backdrop for a small family cake-cutting ceremony for my little sister's 20th birthday. I was making a surprise trip up just for the occasion and had made a reservation for a Sunday four days ahead of time and called to request a chocolate dessert and small candle. The staff on the phone happily obliged. On the morning of my sister's birthday, I called back again to confirm, and confirmed again at the front desk when I arrived. They even promised a serenade! When we arrived, they seated my family and then the waitress informed us that table seating was only for folks doing the Sunday brunch buffet. Funny that when I made a reservation for a Sunday, the past four people had failed to mention this.
I figured the staff would rectify their oversight by obliging to give us a small pastry and candle at the table (since there were plenty of empty tables available), but they actually took our table away from us and asked us to sit outside of the restaurant at a small cafe/bar area. The mistake here was mine, because at this point we should have just left Henrietta's.
When I went to the counter to order a small dessert, I was told that desserts couldn't be served before 3:00pm. Strange?! I had a train back to New York at 4:00, so I then CHANGED MY TRAIN RESERVATION so that I could sit with my sister as she blew out the candle they eventually brought. I must add that the manager added a small chocolate pastry with compliments from the chef which was a nice touch but felt like too little too late.
My recommendation would be that an establishment located somewhere as "classy" as the Charles Hotel should be a bit more flexible in meeting the needs of their guests, and a bit clearer about their arbitrary Sunday brunch policy over the phone. It's just good customer service.
Great spot for dinner. Can’t wait to go back for brunch!
Good tasting food, moderate to large portions, but our server was inattentive/slow
VERY disappointed in the seared bass entree. VERY SMALL PORTION sitting in a pool of tasteless broth and a couple of hard unidentifiable root vegetable pieces. My sister got the tofu entree and basically couldn’t eat it! And my wife and I paid $120 (with tip)with a salad (spinach salad very good!) and no alcohol (really lousy deal!). Ambience about average...waiter very nice.
I've been to H's Table many times. Their holiday buffets are amazing if you don't feel like doing the cooking. Yesterday we went for a business lunch. Highly recommend the comfort food offerings. Chicken Pot Pie was better than grandma's and big enough to bring half home. Salmon cakes were all salmon with very little filling. Dessert, a peanut butter chocolate mousse cake, was sublime. The ambiance is a bit lacking as it's a large, very plain dining room, but we don't care about that.
Food and service good as always. Great wine selection too.
Just had an amazing evening. We started in the bar before dinner....bartenders we're attentive and fun....dinner was special and arrived quickly. A great place.
I have eaten breakfast here many times and have found it a reliable spot which is why I found the menu to be overly fussy for a Saturday lunch. I had a very hard time finding something to order—food was heavy and pretentious! The chef needs to add a few brunch-like offerings as well as some lighter fare.
I should preface this review by saying that I am a very fussy eater. I like light and healthy food. I chose Henrietta's Table for a special birthday because I love the feeling of the room and its Cambridge location. When I called in advance about the menu, I was told it would be a Brunch menu on Saturday. It was not; there were no eggs, omelettes, etc on the menu. The only thing that appealed to me on the menu was a sea bass dish. I ordered sauce on the side. The fish was inelegantly presented, a dried and shriveled looking piece of fish, atop a mash puree. Sauce was fair and very thick. A friend next to me gave me her greens which were tasteless. Bread basket was unimpressive. The stand-out, however, was the chocolate bread pudding presented with a candle and singing which was a complete and nice surprise. Still there were about 4 slices of banana and twice as many would have completed the dish.
Cozy and comfortable. Delicious. Attentive staff. Perfect before theater!
Took several colleagues for lunch. They loved it. Several times folks commented, "this is the best chile I've ever had." The vegetarian sandwich was also a big hit. It was frankly delicious. Took some time to get our bill at the end of our meal. Would totally go again. H.T. it's a go-to place for sure but be prepared to spend $20 per person for lunch. It's worth it!
Good food. Terrific service. Very noisy at lunchtime on a Friday. Perhaps they could give more space between tables - that would help. Liked all the locally sourced options of food
Interesting experience. I ordered the duck but got chicken. Luckily it was swapped out after a couple of bites. Not sure which I liked better - both were just okay. My husband got the crab cakes and he loved it. Only issue, it had a crab claw in it. I love authentic seafood as much as the next person but he could’ve cut his mouth on the claw!
I live in the UK and every time I come to visit family in Boston we come to Hemrietta's for dinner. We have never been disappointed, always excellent food and service.
This time we had the duck, highly recommended. Very tender and the sides were also delicious. I have to say that the service in Henrietta's enhanced the whole experience. Our server was really friendly and attentive.
Great place for a breakfast meeting, with good food. The noise level, though, is a deterrent. With all the wood floors, it's quite tough to have conversations for middle-aged ears. VERY loud and a convenient spot to meet.
Our table was ready right on time. Immediately served bread and water glasses with ice water remained full throughout the meal. Server was attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent--fresh, flavorful, locally sourced and just plain delicious.
Entrees and desserts good. Had nice table for six.
It was better than expected. Brit our server was amazing in that she could actually recommend the food. This often is not the case in dining out. Food was fresh , well priced. This restaurant says it’s farm to table and not only means it but prices are not ridiculous Thanks for great evening.
The food was mediocre for the price. It lacked flair and flavor, despite the wonderful local ingredients, and was served lukewarm.
I'm a frequent diner at Henrietta's. I'm also a creature of habit. Read: every winter I order the chicken pot pie several times.
Imagine, therefore, my surprise last week when the crust on the one I was served was underdone; one might say wet. I noted this to our server when he gleefully touched base to make sure everything was alright. He whisked it away immediately, bringing it back to the kitchen. He returned to the table with it, almost immediately, explaining that this is how the chefs prepare it.
Well, having ordered it I daresay a dozen times and considering my palate capable of discerning dry and flaky from soggy and damp, I politely agree to disagree.
When all is said and done,11/12 is a great and consistent track record.
Henrietta's Table did not have our reservation when we arrived. Not sure what happened to it.
My friend and I had the vegetarian chili with empanadas. The chili was good, although I would have preferred more spice. The empanadas were rather soggy and too oily. I also had a spinach salad that was great.
We hadn't been to Henrietta's Table in some time so I'm delighted to say that this return trip was well worth it - everything was great from the food to the service to the overall experience.
Cibo buono ma troppo troppo costoso! Un'esagerazione inaspettata. Peccato...
Our meal was so fresh and delicious.
Henrietta's table is a good place for a better than average meal in a casual surrounding. The menu is broad enough, the food is well prepared and presented, and the service is attentive. It is also very convenient for doing things in and around Harvard Square. For example my wife and I had an unhurried dinner before theater at the nearby American Repertory Theater, just a short walk away.
Good as always
many times I've been to Henrietta's and always pleased with food, service and general experience. This time I had a friend with me and we split an appetizer of the chicken liver pate - really enough to feed 4 and it was spectacular. Maybe one comment would be to tell us how large that order is - we could have taken half of it home and I wish I had but we were going to Regatta Bar after dinner and I didn't want to have chicken pate with me in the club! The salmon dinner was excellently cooked and my friend's scallops were as well. Then we had a desert to die for - chocolate peanut butter mousse. enough said - all spectacular. I'll be back again and again. Thank you!
I had only one bit of feedback...martini was served in an Old Fashion glass not in a Martini glass...and I ordered it "dirty" which comes with olive juice and usually a couple of olives but I had to beg for olives...waiter was good but frazzled.
Service was excellent, the food was good and the restaurant was setup to allow me to meet with my colleague with out interruption.
Second time here. A find the first time! This was a special occasion, with my wife, and son.
We always seem to bump into friends here, even from reasonably far away like the metrowest and south shore. They know quality!
Food and service is always reliably good and our latest visit with another couple confirmed this.
