We sat down about 5 mins before they stopped orders so the service was justifiably bad but still kind of bothered us
The menu choices were not appealing and the food itself was just awful. Crab and corn chowder looked like something that backed up out of a disposal and tasted blah. The breakfast skillets were tasteless. Really - we all found the food offensive.
We used to love coming to the restaurant... the past 2 times we have come, the service and food has just declined. This past time on News Years day was our last. We sat for about 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. I finally had to ask what appeared to be the manager if we had a waiter? She stated oh.. I can take your order. I ran a restaurant and worked as director of food and beverage for 12 years, her lack of personality, control, and any sense of urgency in a very busy restaurant was completely lacking.
Service was truly awful. Our table was approached 3 times with other people’s food. Waiter could not care less about being there. He was somewhat arrogant and clearly worked there too long. Over all staff seemed disorganized and disinterested.
Don't know if it was just because of the high volume at New Year's Eve, but our food was a bit below what we've experienced at HT in our many past visits.
All else was excellent, and the bartender mixed a perfect Negroni for me, too.
Lunch menu was varied but the actual meal we ordered was not good
Outstanding dining experience. Food is of exceptional quality. Wait staff is kind, patient, personable and knowledgeable. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Non-pretentious fine dining at its best.
Our family went for the Christmas Day dinner buffet, the food was excellent. Great variety of high quality pâtés, cheeses and seafood starters.
The entrees were equally good and delicious; lamb, salmon, turkey were specially good. The hot sides included vegetables and grains, something for everyone. As for the desserts table, there were cookies, tarts, fresh fruits and little treats, however, the best was the chocolate bread pudding. The service was good, but again this was a buffet dinner, so we pretty much did it all at our own pace. It was on the expensive side considering adults charges were $100 (drinks excluded) and children $50. The quality of the food helped to overlook the bill at the end of meal. I would recommend it, just keep in mind the costs.
For the price of the buffet, it should've been a lot better. Pricey, and not much to choose from. That includes the desert.
We have been to Henrietta Table for the Xmas dinner for quite a number of years. The duck salad was the most disappointing this year. No surprise from the desert table; bread pudding was another disappointment. The staff at the carving table seems overwork and was there just 'doing the job' . I requested for a cooked roast beef, the response was the end piece. At a price of $95 per head with extra charge on OJ, I believe there are more choices for the similar grade restaurant. Henrietta is a good restaurant with the status of a piggy at entrance. Seems the piggy has a new coat of paint this year.
Very disappointing. Chose to try this restaurant for the Christmas Buffet. Extremely overpriced, dry turkey, dry salmon, flavorless prime rib. The vegetable table had the best food, and $95. for vegetables is outrageous. I will not return.
Food was great! Juan our waiter was excellent!
Our annual holiday tradition. Good as ever.
Much too expensive for what it is. Prices have gone up and the food is not better. $400 for three (without alcohol) is just too much.
Highly recommend the Christmas buffet because of the great opportunity to sample items if you have never been there before. Magnificent food and extremely friendly service. So looking forward to returning very soon - thank you for making the holiday a special one for us and so many other folks.
Christmas Eve dinner at Henrietta’s Table is a family tradition
Save some space for the delicious deserts! Recommending the cheesecake!
The wife and I love this place. Food is very good and service has been good for us as well! Very accommodating of my wife’s food allergies.
Go for the duck; wish I had the recipe as it would be a treat for slow cook on the Barbie.
Amazing as always! Our server was so great and the food was so delicious. Our favorite spot when we want to treat ourselves.
Sadly, we were disappointed in our entire experience although the staff was lovely. The vegetarian chile looked and tasted awful (the promised farro and quinoa seemed to be missing and the vegetables were mushy and unrecognizable) and the accompanying tamales were uncooked! The roasted chicken was 90% dark meet and dry. Roasted vegetables were bland. Prices were expensive.
It is our #1 choice when we attend a concert or play in Harvard Square. A remarkably reliable restaurant since the 1980s.
Very good restaurant. We were seated promptly and widows overlooked Charles Hotel Courtyard with seasonal lights adding to the experience.
I had Chardonnay and Scrod with mashed potatoes while my wife had pot roast and mulled wine. We were both completely satisfied and had no desert.😟
Chop salad is awesome, service is superb. See you there.
For the price we were greatly disappointed that the dishes, cutlery and glasses were filthy, not just at it table but throughout. We had to keep changing for new. Very disappointing.
Wonderful service, but the food was not that great -- I had been expecting more from a restaurant as highly recommended as Henrietta's Table. The chicken was not at all tender, instead it was a bit tough and dry. The fish was very good. The brussel sprouts were a disappointment they were a beautiful bright green color, but practically tasteless, and a bit tough.
Not a great experience. Tried to send us to a separate isolated dining room when the main room was only 1/3 full. Apps came before drunks and my sons meal came before everyone else’s by 10-15 minutes
Sometimes the food at Henrietta’s is outstanding. Sometimes is average. This time it was average.
Food is good. Service is crude & unrefined.
However, for the prices, lacking.
I took guest speakers here after their event and it was truly an excellent experience. The food was delicious, the wine was a crowd-pleaser, and the service was perfect. I especially appreciated that there were multiple vegetarian and vegan options so everyone can be accommodated (and they were so tasty). The only complaint is that it was a bit loud so for a party with anyone hard-of-hearing, it's not ideal.
Good food choices as always but some service hiccups - no dressing on salad, waiting for water and bill represented before we were finished. Still a favorite so hope next time it’s back to 5-stars.
Perfect brunch for a birthday celebration. Everyone, from kids to adults enjoyed.
Outstanding Sunday Brunch Buffet. Everything was top notch as always!!
Superb brunch...some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.
Every thing was excellent with the exception of the bagels...they were not special
lovely meal with a nice menu filled with local dishes combined with some creativity. We will be back!
It is always like coming home. We know what to expect. We are never disappointed. Perhaps it is time to open in our area - Duxbury. No, you could never achieve the Cambridge ambiance any place but Cambridge. Thank you, yet again, for a fine experience.
One of my favorite places to have a meeting over lunch.
We really enjoyed our meal at Henrietta's! The service was great, and the food was delicious :)
Always a good spot. Food was excellent. Good variety and my hungry grandsons never leave wanting for more.
Excellent food and service. Definitely coming.back here again.
