A very good meal. I have had their preparation of a Brandt beef strip steak three times and it is consistent; it the best I have ever experienced.
Service is attentive and they will go out of hair way to accommodate a special request.
Try their pumpkin soup. Delicious!
They validate parking for the hotel garage and it is a real savings.
I like the farm to table approach, and the food was very good. Best item was the side of butternut squash!
I have an issue with the lighting. It was too dim. I think they need pendant lighting over each table with non-LED bulbs. LED's create a horrible light and restaurants should not use them! A gentle pool of light creating the feel of an intimate space would be great! Patton's should not have to read menus by mobile phone flashlights!
Sunday brunch has a good variety of options, however some of them are not cooked to perfection (very dry English muffins in the eggs benedict, or prime rib not tender enough, to mention a couple). Space gets a little tight, also. Because of that, I believe the price is on the high side.
Although the menu is eclectic and only American wines are served, I manage to find one or two acceptable items each time I visit. The swordfish was excellent although I miss European wines.
Convenient if your friends are staying at the Charles Hotel, otherwise I would not recommend this restaurant. The food is below average, service inattentive and restaurant noisy.
Disappointing experience. Service was inattentive. Place felt very commercial. Some of the food was good but some was so so. Several of the fish portions are extremely small.
Everything great except noise level. Very loud. Service was excellent. Food is delicious with healthy options and locally sourced. Location is convenient to the T. Very energetic area. Enjoy sitting outside during the summer months. It is a go to place for me.
We are never disappointed here. Lovely food, service, and environment. We ate outside and there was a jazz trio. Perfect.
Consistently good with good service in a nice atmosphere
Henrietta's Table is a perennial favorite, with enough seasonal changes on the menu to warrant repeated visits. Fresh ingredients from local farmers atop succulent meat or fish...yum!
Anyhow Henrietta's is renown for it's Sunday Brunch but now includes a limited "set" Saturday brunch menu. There is a variety of choices but not as extensive as on the daily lunch menu which is not available on Saturday,
Overall my go to restaurant. Never a bad meal. Always great.
An excellent spot for a business meeting.
Farm to table menu, excellent service and location.
The ambiance and the service was very good. The cheese starter was excellent. I did not enjoy my lettuce salad as the iceberg was wilted. It could have used bacon as a more traditional wedge salad would. The dressing lacked flavor. My chicken entree was excellent. My husband enjoyed the soup. His vegetarian chili ( I think it was was) only fair.
Main course was not hot. Server did not check back in time to tell her.
The food and service in the overall were good, the food is very delicious and the options are good for everyone taste. The three-course meal is the choice to go if you are hungry and want to taste what the restaurant offers. The waiter was a little bit distracted. They forgot to give us bread and butter at the beginning and they took the order wrong, a plate was missing and we noticed until everyone else had their meal. They just rudely apologize for it.
Great food, locally sourced and a great environment and pleasant staff
My friend had not been to Henrietta's Table. She loved everything she tried. We shared every dish, and she was enthralled by how well the aromas blended, as well as the flavors and appearances of each dish. The service was nicely attentive without being overwhelming. Everyone was friendly and kind.
I've been to Henrietta's table many times over the years. This time it was for brunch/lunch on a saturday. Four of us and we were all somewhat disappointed in the menu choices and the food itself.
Altho' we arrived with only 15 minutes before breakfast was finished, we got great service and delicious food - thank you from me and my out of town guest!
We have been to brunch three times before. The food this time was not as expected. Chicken was tough and could not eat it. Tempurature of food was barely warm. Desserts were better than previously.
Harvard Square stalwart in a constant state of renewal, so it never gets stale. Great place to dine before/after entertainment at ART, Saunders Audiitorium, Regattabar, Brattle Theatre, etc.
We always eat at Henrietta's prior to going to the Regattabar. It has always been very good. The wait service is excellent and the foods are fresh and tasty. My only criticism this time is the ribeye steak that was on special. When it came it was chopped up in several pieces and the meat was very grizzly. It tasted more like a pot roast. It was OK--I didn't complain about it, but I wouldn't order it again, especially for the price.
Henrietta's is excellent, but whenever I'm there I feel like Yogi Berra, getting "deja vu all over again." The restaurant was good when it opened - a pioneer, really - and it's good now, but competitive establishments have caught up and in many ways surpassed Henrietta's. The menu is the same - exactly the same - as it was ten years ago. Portions are often too small - almost chintzy. The Charles Hotel has a virtual monopoly as the only good hotel in Harvard Square, and Henrietta's seems to be cruising on the hotel's coattails instead of evolving to become ever better.
Great experience as usual. Henrietta's has a diverse menu at reasonable prices for Boston/Cambridge. There is something for everyone and the food is fresh and well repaired. . The beer and wins choices are great. You always meet some interesting people there and the staff is helpful and knowledgable. We take out of town guests there and they are always impressed.
very nice, food was tasty, but the portions were small.
We came for a late breakfast at 12pm. We received a lunch menu, no breakfast or brunch items. Menu was Expensive, $19, and not worth it. Entrees mostly unappealing mix, with no substitutions, e.g.,type of eggs. Menu wrong - omitted pork - or brand name without what the food was. We were sorry we came and unhappy about the fancy but undesirable combinations on the entree choices. Neither of us who met there will come again at lunch time. Nor will we recommend it to anyone else. The waitress tried hard to please us but was not permitted to make even small substitutions.
Quiet conversation was possible outside but not inside. The specials were delicious - both the watermelon salad and the chicken liver pate. The swordfish was rather small considering the price.
we sat outside which was pleasant and service was attentive and helpful. Pate was great, but the farrow dish was not as expected... a little goopy and dull-- shouldn't be a disincentive to dine but perhaps advice on what not to order.
Our server was excellent and the host was warm and welcoming.
Difficult to navigate your space with an elderly person though the wait staff was helpful.
Awkward to pass by the bar table at the front of the restaurant where patrons stand and sit and amass in the pathway which leads to either the bathroom or to exit the space. We experienced this for ourselves (we are in our 30s & 40s) and separately when we were moving our elderly relative through- though guests accommodated us when we asked them to make way.
My husband had the salmon with peach salsa which was delicious. He ordered a side of potatoes and the flavor was good but some of them were mushy.
My grandmother had the crab cakes which were good but the slaws were wet and mayonaisy- not very interesting.
I had the lamb shank and was not tasty. I love lamb and this was a more expensive entree that I splurged on. The lamb was not overcooked but the sauce was bland and floury. The beans tasted waxy and that taste held onto my tongue. The bacon's flavor was muted- I thought it would pop in my mouth but was chewy and lacked strong flavor. There was a piece of fennel in the bowl that had no flavor at all. Overall my dish was disappointing and I ate less than half of it.
Once again went for Sunday brunch. Prices continue to rise. Now $55 per person plus tip and mimosa BUT the quality and variety is OUTSTANDING. Several different pates, two salmons, oysters (small but good), best shrmp n a long tme, varety of hot foods ncludng roast beef, loads of cheeses, loads of fruts, varety of desserts. All told expensve but excellent.
A friend recommended that we go here for an after-work meal. I'm glad she did, because we had a lovely time and I will definitely go back again. Good food (much of it locally sourced), friendly service, and a pleasant feel. It did get a little loud as the evening went on, but not unreasonably so.
I wanted to introduce two of my friends to one another. Neither had been to Henrietta's Table before. The food was a big hit, and the service was perfect (attentive, but not intrusive). We had a wonderful time, and new friendships were established in the process.
Very disappointed with service and food quality. Service felt robotic. Servers were abrupt, did not engage us at all, did not check on us once food was served. The food quality was at best average and several of our dishes (brisket, salmon) were well below average. Salmon was cold, overcooked, had a tin-y taste. I would not go back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have frequented it for years and lived in Harvard Square when the hotel and restaurant opened. At the time it was cutting-edge. Now it is boring and lazy.
The food was excellent, server was a little confused but eventually got everything right. It was a little loud but we had a lovely meal
Ben to Henrietta's Table several times- tonight was not their best effort. We waited a very long time just to get water- then waited for menus. It was as if we were in no ones station. Our waiter was absent and/or inattentive. He anticipated nothing! We had to ask for bread, wave him down when we were ready to order, had to ask for more water. Had to tell him when it was time for us to get the check. It was a simple dinner with friends, but took about 2 1/2 hours. The food was fine- but the service made the whole experience very frustrating. Will think twice before returning to Henrietta's Table. Can't recommend it after tonight's experience.
Enjoyed sitting outside on a late summer’s evening - drink specials were very good, tasty
I had smoked grilled duck breast. It was some of the best duck I have ever had! Our waiter was terrific. We ate outside in the courtyard and had a wonderful evening.
Consistently excellent quality, presentation and service. Knowledgeable service team.
Great service. Relaible food. Nice patio dining. Healthy ingredients.
