Henrietta's Table
The salmon was soggy. The side of roasted potatoes for $5 was very small in size. The amount of food you got for the price was not substantial. Very disappointing. We got there for an early 5:30 reservation on a Sunday night. The restaurant had only one table occupied which included a small toddler and cranky baby. To our surprise we were seated right beside the loud toddler . We asked to move to the other side of the room. It’s just common sense not to seat 3 adults beside loud kids when the restaurant is empty. Disappointing experience. I left still hungry.
Wonderful place to meet friends for a leisurely Saturday lunch. Attentive service and excellent food. One of our friends is in a wheelchair and it is accessible and comfortable place for her.
Disappointing. Uninspired. Blase tired service
Good restaurant to go to before a Regattabar show. Nice ambience. Cool bar. It is busy on the nights of a show. We did have reservations @ 6 and they did take us right away. The Pot roast was delicious & you could cut it with your fork. Would definitely go back.
especially for the price, the three of us were exceptionally disappointed with our experience at Henrietta's table. The restaurant has long out run it's reputation. The fish was horrible... the vegetables were plain -totally uninspired. Service was very slow without a smile and it was really noisy. All in all one of the worse dining experiences I've had in awhile
I have been to Henrrietta's Table many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I would give 5-stars for my experience on very likely every one of those occasions. My experience on February 14 for dinner left a lot to be desired. The food was overcooked and hence dry and difficult to eat. The service seemed disorganized----we were waited upon by 3 or 4 different individuals. I will most certainly return because I know that Henrietta's Table will perform much better than it did on this one occasion.
V day, excellent, as always.
Lots of butter!
Great, fun, American atmosphere. Lots of elegant people. Individual pumpkin pie was wonderful. Chicken in reduction fabulous. Salmon was perfection.
Our waiter was spectacular.
The food was pretty good but not amazing, definitely not worth the price
We ate at Henrietta's Table Saturday night. We were seated in the smaller room so the noise level was reasonable. The wait staff was friendly, however, it took a long time (45 minutes) for our entrees to be delivered (and we had warned them we were going to a 7:30 show.) The food was good, however, it felt expensive for what it was. We had the duck and lamb shank entrees (around $26 and $28) and had to order sides at $5.00 each because the entrees only included the meat. We walked away thinking it was nothing special and we wouldn't come back for a long time. We have many fond memories of HT from over the years, but this evening was a disappointment.
Saturday night dinner before a play. As we had to be out in an hour, sat at the bar vs table. Bartender was quick with drink order, but service slowed thereafter. The 2 bartenders often left from behind the bar to tend to bar area tables, and also were providing service for table drink orders. Not the most efficient, and didn't work for me. Food was very average - I was expecting more. Decent atmosphere with open kitchen, but will probably not be back.
The bass fish was special and delicious. But the bok choy was minuscular. 1” in size.
The food was good and the service was a bit spotty. Ordered drinks that took a long time to be served. Were they short on staff? Who knows. It was a Saturday night and the place was pretty full.
Overall it is a good place to have a meal.
My friend and I sat in the quiet room in the back! It was awesome! And as usual, the food delicious, fresh, and very special.
Great food, great service, relaxing atmosphere.
Local, fresh options were delicious. Lovely service too.
I've dined at Henrietta's at breakfast/brunch before and LOVED it, mostly for the ambiance. It's just the best start to a day. Although it was still enjoyable, I felt like dinner was just not their specialty. The food was good, but nothing standout. The service was still great though!
I’m sorry to say this as we have enjoyed this restaurant over the years... this time we felt rushed. Water and bread were put on the table while we were taking off our coats and sitting down. Then we were rushed to order - I finally asked the waitress to give us more time. Then our plates were taken away in the middle of conversation so we had to stop mid sentence. Non of this would have bothered us had the restaurant been busy but it wasn’t.... The good thing was our bills were tallied separately even without asking...
The food was very good. But the service was very poor.
First time at the Sunday brunch - it was great
Food rating is based on previous meals. I was never seated on this evening, so I did not get to try the food.
The food was great. We had a reservation and they were busy. The first thing they did was say we could sit at the bar which was full. They could not tell us how long the table would be, about 40 minutes after reservation we were seated. The waiter had too many table. Did not get a menu for another 15 minutes. Ordered drinks, told bar was busy that took 20 minutes. The food was perfect, could not ask for better.
Seating significantly backed up. Service was poor. Something was amiss.
reservation 6 PM Feb 2 and told waiter 7:30 curtain ART. Drinks arrived 20 min. At 6:50 no meal so told waiter to cancel rib eye and 2 pot roasts instead. Asked for check when they came. 2 18.00 pot roasts, 1 7.00 beer and 1 8.00 wine and check for 114.00. Asked waiter to revise so another 5-10 min at computer and now he's charging me for rib eye "the reason your meal was slow." Had to enlist manager and ended up jogging to ART. Service just awful. Two tables adjacent to us had same experience.
This time The service was exceptionally slow. Unlike we’ve ever experienced before. Wasn’t sure how to answer about noise level on your survey. It is usually very loud. My husband is deaf in one ear and has a really hard time following the conversation. Need to find a way to lower it.
We have dined at Henrietta's Table in the past and enjoyed it. However, the service was incredibly bad this time. While the primary server was courteous, it was clear that he was overwhelmed by the number of people and tables he was trying to serve and could not provide timely and accurate service. In addition to taking much too long to take our order and between courses, after we requested that he package up some leftovers and he acknowledged that he would, he never brought them back. Eventually, he presented us with an incorrect check, which was corrected by a manager after we flagged down another server. Finally, we had an Open Table Reward Certificate; after we gave it to the manager, she returned and mumbled something about not being able to process it and returned it to us with no credit on the check.
Very Disappointing
There is simply not a better place. Caring and prompt service, wonderful room and scrumptious food, interesting choices, friendly ambience, special helpfulness when they see someone with handicaps.
Food was delicious, but my husband's entree was a bit absurd. The tiniest piece of salmon was on the plate, something I'd serve to a three-year-old. Now, I'm not one for the bottomless American pasta and meatballs kind of restaurant, and I get it about "precious" food, but this really was beyond the pale. Henrietta's places a tiny dot of protein on the plate and then charges five dollars for each side dish. This way they can charge $40 for one dinner without REALLY charging $40 for one dinner. The food is very good, and the service was truly wonderful, but I think the value is not worth it, unfortunately. If you're up for paying $40 base per person, then that's fine. Be forewarned. I might be back for lunch with my girlfriends, but I don't think there's any way I could drag my husband back here.
One of the best brunches I have ever experienced! I had wanted to go to Henrietta's for quite some time and, wow, was it worth the wait! The food assortment, quality and taste were exceptional. The chefs did an excellent job in preparing and presenting the options, which ranged from breakfast fare such as pate, muffins, scones, melt in your mouth waffles (clearly made with love), to a variety of top notch lunch/dinner options that featured such items as a scrumptious sea bass, shrimp, delectable prime rib, and chicken options, delicious veggies, and a host of cold salad and fruit sides. Just as important, the service was superb! Not only was our waitress incredibly attentive and polite, but the chefs (including the dessert chef) were also pleasant and seemed to really care that we had an enjoyable experience overall. I would recommend Henrietta's whole-heartedly. Can't wait to go back!
My daughter and I love Henrietta's table. This was the first time we've tried the Sunday Brunch which was delicious and memorable.
Food was excellent service was excellent the atmosphere was very good
Food was delicious. Service, however, was disappointing. Waited for 15 minutes just to get menus and after we had eaten took another 15 minutes for them to clear the plates. Since our waiter never checked in on us we had to wave to him to get his attention.
I don't usually write reviews unless they are stellar or very bad. Unfortunately, this is a bad one. We've been to Henrietta's Table many times before and have really enjoyed it in the past. But our experience this time was so incredibly awful that I feel compelled to share with others. We were going to a show at the Regattabar, which we told them when we were seated. We arrived over an hour before the show, so there was enough time. However, the service was so horrendous, and we had to request and wait for our drinks and our meals so often that it was laughable. To compound our frustration, two of the four meals our group ordered were bland and underspiced. But the worst for us is that we were a half hour late for the Regattabar show, all due to the incompetence of the wait staff. They offered a discount for our trouble, which we appreciated, but it wasn't enough to fix the comedy of errors. We will not be back.
Henrietta's is always a nice treat. Food is excellent
TERRIBLE. A step above Denny's. If you want to pay $28 for Yankee pot roast that is served lukewarm to your table 12 minutes after ordering, this is your place. It's shocking that Boston diners continue to support this restaurant where the food and service is so poor.
This was the 2nd time in a month that I put in Birthday requests but the waiter/ host didn’t ask. Both me and my husband have birthdays in January. Quite disappointed. Waited for a while as well for our main dishes and checks. Food is great as usual. I think they need more staff/ servers.
The best BLT sandwich ever, plus rich clam chowder. Nice atmosphere for young and old alike.
I love this place. I've been here many times, and plan to go back soon. So I'm hoping our recent experience was a true outlier. On Thursday night, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We were rushed and came when they opened (they were not busy) and ordered at once. We ordered appetizers and after half an hour later checked with someone--not our waiter--who let us know it would be about five minutes. About five minutes later, they brought my soup and brought my friend a full dinner--not what she ordered. So we waited for the correction, which came fairly promptly. Then the bill came. It included the full dinner my friend neither ordered not ate, so we also had to send the bill back for correction. We did make our theater time, but it was dicey given the many SNAFUs. Here's hoping next time we're back to ratings in the 5 territory.
wonderful breakfast! great atmosphere! fabulous service!
Terrific service from the hostess to the wait staff.
