Hennen's Ratings and Reviews
This has been a must stop on our annual trip to Chattanooga for years now. Always has been excellent until this trip. We had an 8pm reservation, first they were out of Guinness and then Onion Soup. Things happen from time to time, but it was odd. Odder, our server did not care not even a little.
When our mains came, my 14 oz New York Strip came without a steak knife. After 5 minutes I flagged down the hostess to get one as I could see our server vacuuming a group room off to the side. It was a while before she came to check on us. Again this was not closing time nor close. I think we should expect better for the price point. It was more interesting that management never came by to say hey sorry we are out of things or how are things...
Up to now we have been very pleased with Hennen's. But to be honest, it won't be an automatic next trip as the food scene in Chattanooga is booming.
This was our first visit to Hennen’s. A friend had given us a gift card months ago for a date night and with our toddler we just now got a chance for an actual date haha. The lighting was low, the conversation was light, and the atmosphere was relaxing. It wasn’t fast paced like most restaurants but we still got in an out within under an hour with our reservation being on time. The food was fantastic and was just enough to fill us completely. I had a cocktail drink which was raspberry lemonade and it was fantastic! The lobster bisque soup was amazing and my filet was cooked to perfection. My husband had a ribeye and he loved it. We will definitely be visiting again! Very resonable priced especially for the quality of service and food. Our waiter was great!
Hennen's has been our "go to" place for any special occasions we have been able to celebrate. This evening was our belated Valentines date night. As always, the experience was wonderful. However, on this night we were truly blessed with our waiter, Paul. By far, one of the best experiences with waitstaff at any previous location. He was right there, never oppressive or overpowering, great conversationalist, perfect timing on serving each course, constantly answering each need without any prompting. Paul could have made a lousy meal wonderful! However, with our great experiences, he just was the icing on the cake.
My compliments to whoever hired him. He's a great asset to Hennen's!
Valentine's date, we love Hennens. They took my favorite item off of the menu so that's a bummer, but the shrimp and grits are amazing and the calamari and bread are delicious. Only downside is you have to ask for bread, but I'm not ashamed! The prime rib is also fantastic. Wine prices are manageable and the atmosphere is definitely date friendly. We go for dates here regularly
We usually eat at Hennens when we visit Chattanooga (every 2-3 months). Although our food was absolutely delicious, our server “Vince” made the night most enjoyable. What a breath of fresh air. He was pleasant, personable, knew the menu...just an overall great person/server.
The food was delious! I had the prime rib, hubby had New York steak. Both very tasty & tender.
The French onion soup was superb. Our waitress was top notch, very attentive. It was a Monday evening, so not sure if that played into it. We were very satisfied and will definitely return for another dinner.
I come to Hennans every time I go to Chattanooga. The food and drinks were excellent as always, but unfortunately this time around my guest and I had to wait longer than normal (approx 8 min). There were empty tables near us, and some servers not as busy as others, so I’m not sure what the problem was that night. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience and will return.
We had our 3 month with us & we reserved 2 weeks ahead of time. Everyone was polite but we were not accommodated as we should have been. They couldn’t put us at a table where we could have a high chair. They said every table was already reserved. But we reserved?! We had to hold our 3 month old the entire time until she fell asleep then we had to lay her on a blanket in the booth. We had no where to even sit her car seat. I am assuming they put at a crappy table right next to the kitchen assuming our baby would be noisy but she shouldn’t. Even though the food was good, service was okay, we won’t be going back. I felt mistreated for having a child?? Also I called when I made the reservation and asked if they were kid friendly, and they said of course. It didnt seem that way though when we got there.
We went to Hennen's to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. I must say that this was the best food I have ever had in my entire life. From the 1st course until the last everything was delicious. The calamari was tender and cooked just right. I ordered French Onion Soup, best I have ever had. I had scallops and my husband had a delmonico steak and we both thoroughly enjoyed every bite. But the best was the dessert, creme brulee, it was to die for! When we are in the area again we will go there to dine. Dawn was our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. She did a great job taking care of us. It was a memorable 50th Anniversary.
Had a wonderful meal tonight. Filet Mignon cooked perfectly topped with two good sized diver scallops. The grits were wonderful. Pretty sure they were cooked with egg whites and were a fluffy texture. Lobster bisque was good with various spices infused in the flavors. The best part of the evening was our waiter Eugene. He provided excellent service and shared his world experiences in dining and wines. Our hats off to Hennen’s for having employees dedicated to food service like Eugene.
My brother and sister in law came to town for dinner. Haven’t seen them in several years so we wanted it to be a special dinner. Hennen’s was the perfect place. Food was awesome, service was very good, and atmosphere was perfect. Was quiet enough for us to have Pleasent conversation. Couldn’t have been any better.
