We had a party of 9 and Hendricks took great care of our entire party even as it was Thanksgiving Day. All our food was tasty and our drinks were great.
Very attentive and friendly service. Dinner was relaxed and not rushed. Menu had basics as well as some interesting specials. Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Read reviews that it was noisy but we ate early at 6:00 and we could hear each other easily. Loved the “yard” of beer too!
The risotto and desserts were very good. Not the best food, but good for a midtown restaurant. The service is a little slow, but the atmosphere is very nice!
Always a delicious evening with unique choices. New lounge expands their space to make more people happy!! Friendly, efficient service.
Really enjoy going to Hendriks, the food is always very good. On our visit on a Tuesday night, it was extremely loud. Made it a quick visit.
Great neighborhood restaurant, good variety to choose from
Always a good choice, I eat here at least once a month. Consistently excellent. Best Manhattan in Manhattan.
The food at hendriks sounded way better than it actually tasted. Will not return. Sorry!
It was pretty loud and a little pricey. Not out of line for New York but still more expensive than what it should be.
Food is always so good here! Best brunch in MH.
Fantastic food and atmosphere - highly recommend for upbeat gathering of friends/family.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but a. bit loud. Service and food was very good. Too loud for a group of people to eat and talk but overall enjoyable.
My friends got the Raw Bar for 2, which they enjoyed. The Grilled Peach salad was delicious but a little light for $15 and no meat/protein. The Seared Sea Scallops were highly recommended but I thought they were overcooked and the entire dish (scallops, potatoes and spinach) just tasted like tomatoes. My 2 friends got 2 different dinner entree specials and enjoyed them very much though. For desert, we tried the cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake, both of which were great. Drinks were great all night.
We were in NYC for a Paul McCartney concert and stayed in NYC overnight. Henricks was writen up in Forbe's magazine restaurant column with a "green dot".
it was good but music was too loud to converse
I have been here many times. The food and service are always great. My usual is the seafood Linguini Ciopinno. Always excellent. Oh, and the best Manhattan in Manhattan.
One of the best parts of living in the East 30's...Hendricks never disappoints. If a burger craving hits, this is the best spot in the area to get one. Last night I had trout, and in combination with the spicy kale, fingerling potatoes and tomatoes, it was just perfect. Another standout are the mussels (beware, you will eat a lot of bread to sop up that sauce!). Brunch is awfully good too :)
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was our first time there. The food was really good, the desert was delicious and the drinks were good. The ambiance is perfect for a birthday or date. It's very intimate. I would definitely recommend this place to others!
Nice comfortable place for lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. Food is well presented is consistent although not exceptional.
Good food, poor service (tried more than once removing my plate while still eating), not worth the price
Dishes were great but there isn't enough staff. We waited an hour to order.
Love this place. The food was amazing and our waiter was terrific and made us feel at home. The fish at this restaurant is so good. Will definitely be back.
Hendricks has high quality food and thoughtful menu. The only draw back is noise. It is possible to carry on a conversation with your neighbor but a challenge across the table. So be forewarned.
I was the first guest in the morning. Great food, lobster risotto is highly recommended.
This was a great place for our 6 person reservation. Cocktails were great, food was great, as was service. Was quite loud and lively so would not recommend for anyone who may find noise to be an issue.
Quick service. Good food. Small space but good ambience.
We live locally and Hendricks is one of our "go to" restaurants. They have a short menu but there is something for everyone. Most importantly they absolutely kill every dish with spot on consistency. The service is equally impressive. We have yet to be disappointed.
Can get a pinch noisy when full but that can be expected in a quintessential NYC restaurant. Don't be afraid to take a seat at the bar if there isn't a table available, comfort is not an issue and Luis (barkeep) handles service with ease.
The presentation of the food was nice, however the taste was mediocre. Despite the restaurant not being full to capacity, the service was incredibly non-attentive.
Consistently good with friendly professional service
The food here was very good. Well prepared, well plated. Drinks were excellent. Good balances. Prices were reasonable. Ambient noise level was VERY LOUD, but that's basically unavoidable at a place like this. It's worth it. I'd go back.
Ambiance and service was great. Could be a regional thing but their "medium rare" is medium well to me. Was still tasty though...
Pretty standard food for good value in the area... Although, the service is terrible.
I came here for an early weekday dinner with a friend. Both of us had the seared scallop which was very delicious. While the food and the services were fine, the place was so noisy that it was difficult to have quiet conversation. I would not mind coming here again but obviously have to choose another time for quieter time.
Hendriks had a very interesting menu with items you seldom see on a casual restaurant's menu. Staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. My first time here because a good friend lives right across the street....I will be back and often. Try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
The food was excellent! A little loud inside but it was during happy hour, still a great experience! I would go back for sure.
Waiter was great & food was tasty.
Avoid any of the risotto. Completely flavorless. The rest of the food was very good though.
Really good place!
I have been going here since they opened and have always enjoyed it. This past visit was horrific. We were a group of 6 people as we had friends in town and the air conditioning was not cranked the way it should be. It was super hot outside and where we were seated was hot as hell. We complained several times and nothing happened. NOTHING. They didn't offer us anything to ease the pain of sitting at dinner sweating like there was no tomorrow. I am not one to write reviews and I am not one to complain (EVER) but this was unreal. All 6 of us were dripping sweat. As were the people around us. They could have at least offered us a round of drinks, a free dessert, etc. I even wrote a letter of complaint to them and nothing. When we left the restaurant it was a sigh of relief as it was SIGNIFICANTLY cooler outside than in the restaurant. We spent almost $400 at dinner that night since we were such a large group. To spend that kind of money and literally drip sweat while we are eating is completely unacceptable. I could not get over it. Also- the fact that no one did anything to compensate for that makes it even worse. I am truly not sure if we will ever return due to this. It was SO FREAKING HOT!!!!!!!!!!
Both the food and service were great, but the noise was painfully loud and extremely annoying. Had I not been invited for a business dinner I would have left after having screamed at my colleague through the appetizers. OpenTable should change the term "energetic" as the loudest category for noise to "deafening." Due to the noise I will not return and I will not recommend it. Who decided that good dining should be equated with deafening noise levels? It has destroyed the dining experience in NYC and this is sadly another example.
