First time eating at this restaurant. Made online reservation and was seated right away. Food came very quickly. Waitress was friendly and stopped by every 10-15 minutes to check if everything was ok.
BBQ was great and accommodated our guest who doesn’t like BBQ (amazing I know) with a delicious salad. We will be back
Excellent food and service! The Shiband with 5 meats and 4 sides is the best. We always have left overs to enjoy at home.
Our server was wonderful, very polite and professional. We were a little disappointed with some of the entrees. The meatloaf was a little hard and the brisket was cold and fatty.
We had heard about Hendricks and that we should give it a try. We were pleased with the quality and amount of food. Usually it's one or the other but not both! Our only disappointment was that BBQ chicken is only a Thursday thing. Meat was fresh and moist and very well done. Ambience was fun but not too much. We will be back
The food was delicious! We ordered the whole shebang and tried a little of everything, well worth it. However, our service was ok at best. They lost our drink order at the bar, which thankfully the waitress did not charge us for them because we didn't get our drinks until the meal was out. We were barely checked on, but the food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. So overall I would try them again, maybe someone had an off night.
Food was amazing!
My overall experience was very good.
Ordered the whole shebang which comes with 4 sides. Love the fact things are cooked from scratch and locally sourced. The best thing is there are so many gluten free options. All the meats (6) were awesome. Was blessed to have the best server Sam. She was great.
"I love the ambience and size of the restaurant and they had many different options for seating. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Everyone was extremely pleased with their food choices. The bacon braised greens were phenomenal. I could eat them as a meal. Service was well-timed and friendly, selection of beer was excellent."
Food was amazing!!! Had a great waitress. Will definitely be returning when I am back in St. Charles.
Great patio! The food was ok, the sides were bland. Smoked turkey was the best. The Biscuits are the best thing on the menu. My date’s pork came out cold on one half and warm on the other.
Our group of 4 tried the baby back ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken with a variety of the side dishes. All meats were excellent but the brisket really stood out to me. The sides we sampled were very good but not extraordinary. Portions were generous with lots to take home. Nothing to complain about; the place is loud but that is to be expected. Overall, very pleased - my mother-in-law who lives nearby asked for a takeout menu so she can order in the future.
The food at Hendrix is good as far as taste and quality. Our issue Friday night was that I told our server I wanted the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and NO dressing because I wanted the barbecue vinaigrette dressing on the side. my salad came with the usual Caesar salad dressing and a LARGE piece of grilled chicken breast on top. I sent the salad back to be remade without the dressing. The server came back and said that his MANAGER said that it would take an extra 10 minutes to remake the salad because they would have to re-grill the chicken. I thought this was odd, it seem like they wanted me to take a salad with dressing I do NOT like because it was convenient for THEM. 12 minutes later my salad came with HALF the amount of chicken that was on the original salad. I would NOT go back
Celebrated a birthday and we were pleased with the food and service. We were a little disappointed that they reported we were "no shows" initially. Good comfort food and I appreciated the complimentary cocktail.
The food was great. However, it was hard to have a conversation because it was so loud. And, it was so hot that one of my fellow diners felt like she was going to pass out and was unable to eat.
Food was very good, service was very good. Restuarant was very hot inside, air conditioning was not even close to keeping up. I really liked the decor, I think I will try it again in the winter.
Nice place but TOO expensive for my experience. Would not recommend due to other places being better considering all factors
Awesome food...did I say awesome food.
The food was terrible. Hendricks food used to taste so much better and the quality was normally outstanding. We knew something was wrong when we ordered our food and it arrived 5 minutes later. Normally if it's fresh food it'll take 10 to 20 minutes depending on what the guest ordered. So, of course, we tell the beef brisket had been microwaved, the macaroni use to be my favorite, however, it was dry, spicey, and cold. The greens were super sweet and I don't know why. The sweet potatoes whatever the hell they said it was were gross. Hendricks has gone down in their food service so we will not be back.
Made Reservation on Opentable and was greeted by name. Had attention immediately with waters being served by neighboring server. “San” our server showed up next and handled all our food and drink questions. Got our food & drink orders out quickly & professionally. Food was great.
Only regret was not allotting time to stick around for live music.
Nice atmosphere, very friendly and helpful service. Food was tasty, especially the bacon braised greens. Meats, though, were cold, but had a nice smokey flovor. When I made the reservation on line, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday for one of our group. I was a little disappointed that this wasn't mentioned by the staff.
The service was great, but the meat was amazing! I highly recommend this place!
Definitely a good place for barbeque! The staff was friendly and it was nice to see a manager actually checking on the guests to make sure everything was okay. The food was really good. Just make sure if you order the shrimp and grits with bbq, that they go light on the sauce.
This was my third time coming here, but the place has really gone downhill, I won't be going back. The fried chicken came out undercooked. I think it had been frozen and not thawed out all the way or something, but the inside/middle of the big pieces were still pinkish-red and cool to the touch. Nobody cared, the food last time I had been there was pretty good we figured it was a fluke. I asked a waitress if they could throw it back in for another minute or something and she took the plate back. After a couple minutes no-one had come back by the table so my father in law and I walked back towards the kitchen just in time to see the waitress and the cook digging through the plate with their fingers and hear one of them say "Just throw some of the smaller pieces on a different plate they won't know the difference!" As soon as the cook saw us walking up he started yelling at my father-in-law and said he "what did we want him to do burn it? Is that how you like your chicken? Burnt?" We weren't even mad, we were just trying to go see what the hold up was, it wasn't like they were busy, we were one of the only three tables in the whole restaurant. I the manager came over and had about the same attitude. He was mad that we "thought the chicken wouldn't be cooked all the way through" . I told him it wasn't a big deal either way, we could just order something else and he was still going on about the chicken. After another minute of getting yelled at I asked the manager if he wanted to see the plate, this was clearly a mix-up/mistake he said he "didn't need to see the plate, they've never had complaints about the chicken before and they always cook it the same". We had to just pay for the appetizer and leave. First red flag was that there were only two other tables filled in the entire place at 1pm on a Sunday when it should have been packed. We waited at our table for 15 minutes before getting a drink order. Really disappointed, this place used to be pretty good.
Perfect date night, food was to die for, service was impeccable, right down to fantastic beer suggestions! Will definitely be going back.
The potato salad and coleslaw needs improvement. Warm sour potato salad was very disappointing. Everyone at my table tried it and everyone agreed it wasn’t good. The brisket was tough and fatty. The pulled pork and sweet potato fries were amazing though! We will give it another try.
Very good BBQ, very good service, not $$$$. Just a bit noisy when the tables are all full and people start talking loud in order to be heard.
Food was good as always, service was lackluster especially for how empty the restaurant was.
Love this place. Best deal for a family of 4 is the shebang
Seated on patio. Look quite awhile to be wAited on. But when we finally ordered food came out quickly and it was great.
We were seated immediately at a large table with plenty of room for our entire party. Our server was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our food arrived in a timely manor and the portions were huge- way more than any of us could eat. I would have preferred to have received slightly less and paid slightly less. That being said, the meats were delicious. The sides were good, too, but were absolutely secondary to our entrees. Overall, we had a great experience and we will definitely be back.
Would absolutely recommend Hendricks BBQ to friends and family. Great BBQ'd turkey and brisket, creamed spinach, and caesar salad. Enjoyed the atmosphere and, since it was a Sunday evening, there was a low level of noise so we were able to talk with friends comfortably. This was our 2nd trip to Hendricks and we plan to go back and enjoy it again.
Great service from Shelby. We were seated right away. Sides were the star of the show (namely the creamed spinach) brisket was also very good. Ribs were not as good as they usually are...cold and hard to get off the bone.
Sitting outside is the best.
We had reservation for 6 at 630 and didn’t get seated until 710. Waitress was friendly but slow in taking our order. You need more wait staff. Probably won’t go back for a while.
Although the food was fantastic the service was less than spectacular. We waited over 10 minutes to even be greeted by our waitress and others. It took a long time to get refills and to top it all off they brought out 1/2 of our meals that were completely wrong. We do enjoy this place however they need to focus on customer service to retain customers going forward.
Waiter was excellent
Best ribs I've ever had in a restaurant, and I'm a native Texan, so it pains me to say that. The brisket was moist and tender and did not need sauce (means it was done right!) and the sausage had a nice kick to it. The mac and cheese almost brought tears to my eyes it was so good, the green beans seasoned and cooked just right, and the sweet potato casserole was dessert-worthy.
Our server was friendly, fun, and and attentive. Portions were generous, food served quickly and at the proper temperature.
It was damp and cold when we were there but the deck out back looked like it would be a great place to sit in better weather.
The ladies' room was clean and easy to get in and out of.
I have a list of restaurants to visit when I'm in the STL area, and now Hendricks BBQ is on it!
