BBQ is very average and I ordered the brisquet. SugarFire brisquet is much better. The portions are very very small for $15 with no sides or even bread. The fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit was excellent. The side of spinach was very salty. Green bean side was ok. Fried potatoes were good but not freshly made. Server was attentive and helpful. Good atmosphere and decor. Best part was live music in the lounge below.
Hostess was extremely unorganized. We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our resevation and she had us wait 20 minutes while she tried to figure out who her staff would be at the shift change (we only had a party of 3). Then seated two tables while we waited. The smoked meats were excellent as were the BBQ beans. The potatoes in the potato salad were not cooked through and the corn casserole was dry and crumbly with corn kernels that were like little rocks, like it had been under the heat lamps for much too long!! One member of our party had the pastrami sandwich and said it was delicious.
Great food and service!
Do NOT miss this restaurant! We were visiting the area for a get-away when the hotel clerk recommended it for dinner. WE LOVED IT! In fact, we ate there 2 days in a row. The meats are off the hook, and the sides are truly Southern comfort goodness. Enjoy, you'll come back.
Take seven out of towners, shake with indecisiveness on what to order, add one patient, gem of a waitress (Casey) and you end up with a good meal. I had the two meat meal and chose the brisket and sausage. Brisket was good, sausage wasn’t spicy as advertised. My side was the corn casserole (good) and a baked potato. One diner had the brisket and smoked turkey and said the turkey was wonderful. I also had the Boozey Bacon Maple shake which was more of a dessert than a shake, especially since there was so many bacon pieces the straw was useless I’m sure there are better places, and if it hadn’t of been for Casey, I would have rated this 3 out of 5 stars. She made the night for us.
Great food. Good service. Highly recommend
I like getting a meal that is filling, flavorful, and reasonably priced. This place delivers these features.
The only suggestion I have is I didn't like the paper lining between my food and the tray. It ripped, got soggy and stuck to my yummy sandwich.
The BBQ was great. They have a great mixed drink menu, which I didn't partake in. The beer selection could have been more diverse. What they had was good and it appears to rotate. The BBQ and food were great. Cornbread and Nachos were very good as well.
This is my third time at this restaurant and it has been the best. The first visit was with a group of about 9 family members and they were sold out of everything! The last 2 visits were 2 couples and the meal was quite enjoyable. Great food and friendly service.
Meat was good but many sides are mediocre to bland. Waiter was hard to contact. Prices were high for the food quality.
Amazing food, beer and service.
Excellent food. Best brisket and ribs in town!
I ordered the pork steak. Never had one before. The menu said the meat was "so soft you could eat it with a spoon" . It was not. Hard as shoe leather and very fatty. I had taken five bites that I had to saw through with my butter knife and I was done. I do have to say their mac n cheese was the best I have ever had. The Cole slaw tasted like medicine. I asked for the check. Waitress saw I hadn't eaten. Told her what was wrong. She apologized. Got manager. They took off the food setti that was nice as I was not hungry enough for a whole replacement meal. The environment is beautiful for a bbq place - although they had LOTS of murals of musical legends, they had NO music playing for ambiance(?). I'm sure this place is great as it seems like it's busy but that meal was awful - but they did their best ro make up for it.
Improvements could be made at the entrance from the parking lot. The path was not in the best of shape.
only issue was the complaints about the men's bathroom.....it was filthy
Excellent food, fast, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
We were in town for the day and wanted some bbq. We found Hendricks and loved it. The food was excellent and it wasn't busy. I would definitely eat here again
Disappointed that patio was not open due to lack of staff... was main reason we choose the restaurant
Enjoyed a family dinner on the back patio. Our favorites were on the menu and served with a smile. Only downside was the waitress seemed over booked and the drinks from the bar came alarmingly slow. I do have to say that this is out of the norm from my prior experiences.
Try the green fried tomatoes when you visit and collard greens!
The cornbread was very good along with the unique honey Tabasco sauce...meat n sides were pretty good...we were a bit disappointed because we came there wanting to also try there special maple bacon milkshake only to be told they were out 😔....good service tho...overall good place to eat
We enjoyed our time the service was exceptional. The only not real favorable with our group was the selection of regular side dishes. The braised beans and corn casserole were something we wouldn’t order again.
One of the best BBQ I've ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was outstanding, let’s be clear about that.
Where they fell really short was with the service. Our server had disappeared and we had run out of water and soda. We had to ask 3 times because she was bringing out food and basically forgot us. By the time she came with water, she didn’t bring the soda. While we waited again for the check, we spoke to the Manager. After explaining our experience, she was nothing but excuses and didn’t seem to care. The apology was so insincere, I was shocked that a place with such great reviews, would have staff like this. We flew in for a Graduation and came here because of the reviews. So, yes, the food was amazing. But, after the ordeal with service, sadly, the food became secondary to the unsatisfactory service.
My first time there & I made a reservation for 2ppl via open table. Arrived a little early & host asked if we had reservation because alot of servers were cut early? Didn't understand what did that had to do with us? So from the start, we did not feel welcomed.
Food was cold & fries which were ordered as a side with the meal came long after we received other food items. Fries & rolls were the hottest food items we received.
It was servers 3rd shift & seemed to have trouble keeping up with service in his section.
Didn't want to wait any longer for hot food so we ate it cold.
Not a good first experience & not sure if I will return.
The meat portion was very good. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. The brisket wasn't as tender but still really good. The mac and cheese sauce was a little runny for my taste but it tasted good and the corn casserole was very dry and barely warm so I didn't eat it. My husband had the BBQ Nachos which were supposed to be pulled pork but he said he thought it might be the burnt ends of a brisket because the meat was kind of crunchy. But he still enjoyed them.
Good choices of sides; Great milkshakes; Simple sauce selections;
We have eaten here several times in the past couple of years. It used to be great, but after the last two visits we won’t be back. The recorded music was loud and grating, making the mood uncomfortable and conversation difficult. Upon complaint, the waitress offered to change the station but that only lasted a short while. The service was amateurish- drinks and silverware were forgotten and all the courses (appetizers, salads, rolls and entrees) arrived at once. The bread was stale. The special dessert, strawberry shortcake, was just silly with the tiny amount of whipped cream liquified between two warm slices of cake. It looked like a child had left it outside in the sun! And, of course, it was served without utensils. They also have a strange payment system requiring the customer to tell the server how much tip they plan to leave before receiving the final bill. Too many annoyances for a pleasant evening out.
Our waiter was great , our wait for dinner was a little long ,Manager comped our dinner .
I have been there many times but this was definitely the slowest service we ever had. It was crowded but our waitress looked at us many times when seated but did not come over for 14 minutes. Then only wanyed to grab drunk orders. We fully ordered. She left a pitcher of tea on our table through three visits back.
The food was great as usual. Just an off day for service
The female manager on duty displays lack of care for the customer and her employees. One of the worst managers I have ever been in contact with in any place.
Over all was excellent just had the music a little too loud to hear each other or the wait staff. Wait staff seemed new as he wasn't sure what the specials were for the day
When we arrived, it was hot inside the restaurant. We were told the air conditioning wasn't working because the restaurant couldn't afford to fix it. It was over 90 degrees outside. The restaurant was very loud and uncomfortably hot. The server tried to take our order and bring our food quickly; however, we didn't see her for long periods of time because she was in the kitchen getting other orders. Not her fault. She tried very hard to be attentive but was busy with other tables. We didn't see any managers and were told they were in the kitchen helping cook. We tried to flag other servers and busboys to bring us ketchup, but we were ignored. The food was okay but the experience was horrible. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. We will not return again.
I ordered the Nachos and the chips were stale. I sent it back and they came back even worse. We normally love going to Hendricks but won’t be back for awhile.
Normally I like Hendricks BBQ a lot, but this time was substandard. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to have dinner and the food wasn’t great this time. Way too much fat on the brisket, corn casserole was really dry and the potato salad didn’t have much flavor. The biscuits were really fabulous as usual. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm.
Our server was great! We really liked the room. The only complaint is that their AC wasn't working and they didn't even bother to tell us. It was incredibly hot and had no fans or anything.
Excellent food. Excellent service.
food was a little on the chill side party of 6 45 minutes for food
Would like to know why you asked if we were celebrating a birthday.? Also it would be nice if you had more comfortable smaller boots that years are uncomfortable. The food is great.
Food was awesome and service was too! Took Several people there for dinner on Fathers Day. Wonderfully experience.
The restaurant was far too hot. It was uncomfortably hot.
