Great meal and outstanding service. Would definitely return. Loved the crab cakes!
The food was good, but it came an hour and a half later, our 6 years old was a little upset that a hamburger could take that long. Terrible service. There are many options in Orlando, and the manager should pay more attention.
We found this restaurant online and decided to try it after the great reviews. We’re from out of town and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The food was exceptional and the service was very thorough. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fine dining experience. From the seafood plateau, the starters, the entrees, the dessert, and even the espresso, it could not have been better. We can’t wait to go back and eat here again!
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. The food is excellent. Ask your server for suggestions and try something different. Perfect portion size too. The hotel is beautiful, be sure to walk around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings
Very nice place inside a beautiful hotel would definitely return
This is our favorite restaurant in the greater Orlando area. It’s down near Disney but don’t let that dissuade you from trying it. We’ve been going there for 30 years for the food and ambiance. The fresh fish dishes are always delicious and excellently presented. The restaurant itself is lovely with floor to ceiling glass and wood. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner anytime, and also for special occasions. Service is the best and they strive to meet whatever special requirements you may have.
Enjoyed an amazing dinner as always! One of my favorite restaurants in Orlando!
Hands down the best food I have had in a long time. We started with a dozen blue point oysters that were amazing. They also brought out tiny cups of ahi tuna that were delicious and a rosemary bread that practically melts in your mouth. For entrees, we got the blackened black grouper and the scallops. Both entrees were delicious and tasted so fresh. Probably the best scallops I have ever had and I consider myself a scallop connoisseur. The scallops came with a butternut squash risotto and the grouper came with mashed potatoes and both were fantastic.
For dessert we did the key lime torte and this chocolate ball that had cheesecake inside and a layer of chocolate chip cookie crumbles underneath. We were definitely stuffed and needed a long walk after that but it was worth every bite. I am already planning my next dinner there.
Excellent service and very accommodating.
The food was not as good as it was in previous visits. Seating was cramped and noisy.
Business conference dinner. Excellent service from Brad!
This is a beautiful, elegant but not pretentious room at an insanely spectacular resort! My pecan encrusted grouper was outstanding but my partner’s paella was a major disappointment- dry, almost crusty cherizo sausage and inconsistent with everything else. Our server offered to comp us for the dish and we accepted because she ate very little. Look, things can happen in the best of restaurants and I would expect that this was atypical and the staff handled it well. Give it a try, but expect a pricey check.
Wonderful restaurant. Wonderful service, food and ambiance!
Fresh seafood. The halibut was outstanding and the beef rib-filled mushrooms delicious. Very attentive service.
Wonderful all around!
We’ve been coming here for over 25 years and the food has never disappointed us. Very relaxing atmosphere and perfect compliment to the wonderful Grand Cypress Hotel. Sadly our last visit with 2 other couples it took an hour to get our app and another hour an a half for our entree. It wasn’t for lack of help on the floor, but the kitchen wasn’t getting it done. We will return, but they better figure this out.
We were guests in the hotel (Hyatt Grand Cypress) and I indicated this on the Open Table reservation. When we showed up, however, we were shown to a table right next to the service/bus station — probably the worst table
in the house. We firmly asked to be moved to a better table. The next one was OK but when the bus boy was serving us water I commented that it was too bad the restaurant doesn’t have outdoor seating. He seemed surprised and said “yes, we do”. We asked to be moved (again) and got a lovely table on a very nice patio area. Third time’s a charm — night and day!
The food - my husband had the grouper and I had the crab cakes — was just okay. Grouper was better but crab cakes came cool so asked to have it warmed up. They were very apologetic and did a nice job getting to back to me, although hubby was almost finished by the time I got mine back. Mine was kind of fishy tasting, but maybe that was the type of crab they used. I eat a lot of crab on the West Coast of CA so am used to delicious Dungeness crab cakes.
For $190 with wine, this meal was not a good value. Main benefit was being able to eat at the hotel when we were very tired.
It was Brian’s birthday and we were searching for great seafood in a romantic atmosphere. Hemingway’s delivered big time! Our waiter Brad was knowledgeable and engaged. The calamari was delicious paired with Simi Chardonnay. We followed with the grouper, which disappeared way too soon. Chocolate dessert was awesome in both presentation and taste. We highly recommend this restaurant.
It was my 30th bday and we had a group of 7. Suzanne our waitress and the staff took very good care of us. We had a great table in the middle. The food and drinks were delicious! We had 2 lovely appetizers - crab cakes were melt in your mouth. Then I enjoyed a lovely Caesar salad followed by the grouper with a delightful coconut key lime sauce. Superb! We finished up with a banana tiramisu. A hidden gem behind the Hyatt! Truly enjoyable! Thanks all!!
First of all it was so dark in the area we were seated that we had to use our phones in order to read the menu. It took forever to get our food and when it came I received something I did not order and my other guest ordered steak med rare and it was well done. It took along time to get the food right and by that time all other guest has finished eating.
The crab cake and the calamari were excellent appetizers, I recommend both. I had the shrimp scampi for dinner and really liked it. Service was attentive and the room itself had a nice ambiance. I didn’t realize this was in the Hyatt hotel and got a little lost at first. Mentioning it because it wasn’t clear on open table and I missed the sign driving in. The walk to the restaurant was really pretty and you see the grounds.
Always exquisite! Their rendition of Shrimp Scampi is unique and absolutely the best that we have tasted! Romantic and glorious setting every time!
Enjoyed the meal. Part of Grand Cypress resort but feels like cozy hideaway! Service was excellent.
Service was friendly, food came out at a good pace, was beautifully presented and delicious.
Excellent all around service and food and ambiance
Amazing grouper and crab cakes. Best seafood in Orlando!
The food was very good. Service was exceptional. Even though the restaurant was up scale they were Very welcoming of kids. If someone has dietary restrictions- they also offer a vegetarian menu. They even have a nice kids menu - which I presume is a common find in the upscale dining locations in Orlando
The server was nice enough to get us a sumptuous and delicious chocolate cake with strawberry for our anniversary
Fantastic Meal with friends. I have been here a few times. I highly recommend to anyone. If you visit the establishment, you might do well to request Marty as your server. He has been there 19 years, and is better than ever. Great place, friendly and quiet atmosphere absolutely fabulous seafood.
We have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress several times and always make it a point to dine one night at Hemingway’s, you can guarantee you’ll have a great meal and leave having had a great experience! Staff is very friendly and I honestly dont have one negative thing to say about this place! A must try for sure!
I don’t like to write negative reviews, but this restaurant needs to “step” it up a notch. Service was slow. The salad dressing was average as well as the entire meal. The desserts looked good, but after waiting so long for our salad, etc. not worth the wait.
Ambiance vibes 1990's; not at all unpleasant, just not contemporary and that may well be part of the appeal. Staff are low-key and friendly and the waiter was very professional. Cocktails were well-done; food was very good. It's in the Hyatt Regency but easily accessible for non-guests like we were. We would go back, for certain.
Excellent beginning to end!! The food was phenomenal, service was perfect, atmosphere was comfortable and I will definitely return next time I'm in town!
Bread is great. Service was excellent. Food was ok at best. I had the duck. It was a breast and leg quarter. Flavor was good by it was over cooked. It was well done, I would prefer the just the breast, med rare. My guest had the Paella. Looked visually appetizing but he said it lacked flavor. Was a bit disappointed in the food. Nice atmosphere and excellent genuinely friendly staff.
We dine here for most of our special occasions and when we have family in town, our favorite spot to bring them to. Staff is great, especially Mike! Food is extremely fresh and always delicious !
As a local, we have a lot of choice in Orlando, but Hemingway's always-always offers the best menu and outstanding service.
Wait staff was on point (very friendly and engaging). The food was very good (beyond expectation). Pricing was as expected
Perfect location for business dinner meeting. Perfect food and service!
Wow! Everything was superb!! This fantastic restaurant delivers excellent service and delicious food at an affordable price!
Excellent food and service. I would definitely go back!
Very frendly and smiley staff! Thank you so much!
