Hemingway's Ratings and Reviews
I often choose Hemingway’s for business dinners. Food and service are exceptional. We were a party of six. They were not particularly busy this particular evening but still set us in a separate area vs seating all guests together. It is not a loud restaurant. You can actually have conversation that all can participate in. They never disappoint
The food was excellent. However, we expected more of a quieter dining area. I understand that there are many families with kids, but we would have liked a more quiet area. There were only the two of us on a date and it was really noisy where they put us. So, I would probably not go back again.
This was the most wonderful experience. A Thanksgiving to remember. I would highly recommend this outstanding restaurant for any occasion. The service was superb, the ambience perfect the food exquisite. It exceeded my expectations, especially on a holiday.
We enjoyed our meals here. The food was great and the service even better. The options on the menu were diverse and very appealing.
We highly recommend this for a nice dinner.
The only problem we had was finding the restaurant! We weren't staying at the Hilton and the signage for the restaurant were poor.
I hadn't been to Hemingway's in quite a while, and wasn't disappointed this time. The ambience is still lovely and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the special of the night, seabass prepared in a simple but delicious sauce accompanied by wilted spinach and butternut squash. My husband enjoyed the paella, always his favorite. It did not disappoint, filled with delicious fish, lobster, shrimp, scallops, and chorizo over a creamy yellow rice with pimentos and peas. Our waiter, who has been working there for years, was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We will return!
We were staying at the Grand Cypress Hotel and decided to eat at Hemmingways. What a mistake that was. The food was not even close to being worth the expensive price tag. I ordered the Chef's Special which was the sea bass and my wife ordered the seafood paella.
You would think the Chef's Special would be a special dish but that was far from the truth. The bass was overcooked and bland with a bit of a smell like raw sewage. In fact, almost every dish had that smell in it, including the water which really ruined the entire meal.
The Seafood Paella was also overcooked and had an overpowering hickory smoked taste which made the overcooked seafood taste even worse. On top of that it had the sewage water smell which made it very unpleasant.
We thought at first it was the hotel's water source that had that smell but we later dined at the other restaurant in the same hotel, the Lake House and the food in there did not have any of this strange smell at all.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone except my enemies.
This restaurant is my favorite in all of central Florida. The fish is so incredibly fresh, consistently, with a large selection of them. Service outstanding and very accommodating. The windows with view of the beautiful pool were spectacular. I can't wait to go back!
We went for my wife's birthday and had a great time. Since we are pescatarians we were pleased with the variety of seafood on the menu. The atmosphere was great and the staff attentive. The only slight problem was finding it. We were not staying at the hotel and the lack of signs has us walking an extra block or two.
Reservation was for a party of six. The entire experience was immensely disappointing. We were sitting for 15-20 minutes before we were greeted. The service was terrible. Our drinks were not refreshed. Our entrees were not served for well over an hour. I ordered oysters as my entree and they had sat either so long or too close to the heat lamp, as the shells sunk into the water/ice.
This my second visit to Hemingway’s and with a larger group; there were six of us. They didn’t disappoint! Service was fabulous and the food marvelous! I enjoy the menu being diverse enough for a variety of tastes, although I have to admit that there was sharing amongst the group. To recommend one item? Hands down, the calamari.. or perhaps the wild boar. Thank you for a delightful evening.
Having been three or four times previously each visit seems a little less satisfying than the last. One starter, admittedly a cold one, was brought out some ten minutes before the rest which must have been sitting on the pass for some time as the jus had congealed. The mains were fine if not outstanding and for a cost of $355 plus tip for the four of us a somewhat disappointing experience.
This place was a little out of the way for me, but worth it. It has a very nice atmosphere, especially in the back rooms overlooking the gardens. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. And finally, the food was excellent. Give this one a try.
Everyone at the restaurant was excellent . From the moment we stepped at the door everyone treated us like family . The food was excellent , there is a great selection of wine and at the end of ur dinner, our server brought us dessert for our anniversary. I myself gave a big hug to gentleman who has been working for the restaurant for 35 years, he took the time to talk to us during dinner. It was a very special night , thanks to all the staff.
We have eaten at Hemingway's during magical dining for the last 3 years. This year we expected the same awesome food and great service and was disappointed. I have recommended Hemingway's to many of my colleagues when they come in from out of town. This will not be continued.
The food was okay, the service was poor and the price was high even for magical diners.
I am sadden because this use to be one of my favorite places. The atmosphere, the building, the glass, the wood, the scenic views, the grounds are comfortable, relaxing and lush, tropical and a true Florida paradise feel.
Great experience all the way around. Entire staff was welcoming and friendly. Fantastic food creatively presented. Great cocktails and wine. And then there was dessert! Being there at sunset was a plus. Our server, Suzanne, made the evening even better. Would recommend.
Brilliant meal at Hemingway’s again!
Service was brilliant and efficient.
Food was perfect. Starter of stuff mushrooms was Devine whilst the filet and rib eye myself and my wife ordered were cooked to perfection and served with a great mash and asparagus.
Deserts were amazing too.
Great way to spend a special occasion or a date night!
Fabulous food offered thru Orlando Magical Dining. Portions were so large I took home half my entree and all of my dessert. We will certainly go again. One extra positive—in contrast to the Disney Signature restaurants, few overtired children and a lot less noise!
