This was a horrible experience. The waitress was awful. She got my order wrong so i had to wait a long time between appetizer and entree. When it came it was on accompaniments which would make cafeteria food look appealing. When I asked what it was, she said rice grits. I said that I thought it was unusual that the menu did not describe the sides. She laughed and said “Haha I guess I forgot to tell you.” The grouper was tasteless and through the evening I would have to catch other waiters to try and get service. Eventually, after nothing would happen, she would at last return to fulfill the request.
I have owned several restaurants and have never left a negative review. But this was so bad, I finally got up and went to the maitre’d to pay my bill after waiting 40 minutes. Along the way, I passed the manager who asked “How was the meal?” I said “It sucked!” He said “Perfect!!” No lie. That says it all.
Grouper was over cooked and dry
There were 5 in our party, and everyone loved the food except me. That makes it difficult to criticize. The others all ordered various fish dishes. I ordered the duck, and it was the worst duck I've ever had... it was dry and tough... even with a steak knife.
The restaurant was very crowded and it took what seemed like forever for the food to come.
The crab cakes were divine! Our service was fabulous...very cheerful grandmother. Our daughter immensely enjoyed the Earl Grey Tea with Rock Candy sticks for sugar. Her burrata mozzarella and tomato salad was wonderful as well. The calamari strips were the best calamari I have ever had at at a restaurant...so much better than those circular fried dried up calamari apps that exist on many menus. The ambiance is a little older Floridian for me. I think the place could use some more contemporary furniture and decor, but the food and service was outstanding!
A little on the too expensive side! But great service and food! We took our children, so ended up being too expensive
Great food and service!
We were truly impressed with this gem of a location and service. Thank you
Food was amazing and the ambiance was great! We really enjoyed it and would return!
Absolutely phenomenal. Complimentary bread is killer.
This is a hidden gem.
The waiter was not very attentive to service. Average plate $40 which seemed expensive compared to other restaurants I’ve been too. Not visiting again.
Great food and atmosphere. We informed staff that we celebrating a birthday but it was overlooked. Other than that everything was great.
We were seated next to a table of 8 or 10 people who were extremely loud. It was terrible to say the least. The waiters/waitresses had to notice when they seated us that it would be potentially uncomfortable for us. They should have suggested we sit somewhere else because they definitely had to notice the rude loud group Seated right next to us. We were there Friday night at 7:15. Very disappointed.

Outstanding food and service. Perfectly simple yet elegant meals. Even my picky 12 year old found a meal he enjoyed (this is next to miraculous). This is delightful for my husband and me, who loved the food and would like to visit again.
Everything was very good. Service food etc. Just prepared to pay. Saw a number of people probably attending a convention and was on expense accounts.
Always good food and server David was excellent!
The experience from the complimentary valet, to the hostess, to our waitress and busboy was excellent!
Only downside was the cost of the cigars that I purchased in the way out.
Normally I love this place but I guess they were having g an off night. It took way too long to get our dinners and then they were not hot, just warm at best. Plus the food just was not up to par. Plus I told them it was my birthday and nothing happened. Oh well... I will give it another try.
If you are looking for a nice restaurant with great food near Disney, this is the place!
The restaurant is in a nice setting however they sat us by the kitchen. The waiter was nice however distracted and forgot numerous requests. The Cigar bar area was the best (you can’t smoke inside the lounge so great for non smokers like us)
We had a very enjoyable meal at Hemingway's while staying at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. Seating was very private, service was excellent and the food was very good. I would eat here again.
Great meal and outstanding service. Would definitely return. Loved the crab cakes!
The food was good, but it came an hour and a half later, our 6 years old was a little upset that a hamburger could take that long. Terrible service. There are many options in Orlando, and the manager should pay more attention.
We found this restaurant online and decided to try it after the great reviews. We’re from out of town and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The food was exceptional and the service was very thorough. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fine dining experience. From the seafood plateau, the starters, the entrees, the dessert, and even the espresso, it could not have been better. We can’t wait to go back and eat here again!
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. The food is excellent. Ask your server for suggestions and try something different. Perfect portion size too. The hotel is beautiful, be sure to walk around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings
Very nice place inside a beautiful hotel would definitely return
This is our favorite restaurant in the greater Orlando area. It’s down near Disney but don’t let that dissuade you from trying it. We’ve been going there for 30 years for the food and ambiance. The fresh fish dishes are always delicious and excellently presented. The restaurant itself is lovely with floor to ceiling glass and wood. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner anytime, and also for special occasions. Service is the best and they strive to meet whatever special requirements you may have.
Very good food, service, and atmosphere! First time to restaurant and very impressed. Will return!
Enjoyed an amazing dinner as always! One of my favorite restaurants in Orlando!
Hands down the best food I have had in a long time. We started with a dozen blue point oysters that were amazing. They also brought out tiny cups of ahi tuna that were delicious and a rosemary bread that practically melts in your mouth. For entrees, we got the blackened black grouper and the scallops. Both entrees were delicious and tasted so fresh. Probably the best scallops I have ever had and I consider myself a scallop connoisseur. The scallops came with a butternut squash risotto and the grouper came with mashed potatoes and both were fantastic.
For dessert we did the key lime torte and this chocolate ball that had cheesecake inside and a layer of chocolate chip cookie crumbles underneath. We were definitely stuffed and needed a long walk after that but it was worth every bite. I am already planning my next dinner there.
Excellent service and very accommodating.
The food was not as good as it was in previous visits. Seating was cramped and noisy.
Business conference dinner. Excellent service from Brad!
This is a beautiful, elegant but not pretentious room at an insanely spectacular resort! My pecan encrusted grouper was outstanding but my partner’s paella was a major disappointment- dry, almost crusty cherizo sausage and inconsistent with everything else. Our server offered to comp us for the dish and we accepted because she ate very little. Look, things can happen in the best of restaurants and I would expect that this was atypical and the staff handled it well. Give it a try, but expect a pricey check.
Wonderful restaurant. Wonderful service, food and ambiance!
Fresh seafood. The halibut was outstanding and the beef rib-filled mushrooms delicious. Very attentive service.
Wonderful all around!
We’ve been coming here for over 25 years and the food has never disappointed us. Very relaxing atmosphere and perfect compliment to the wonderful Grand Cypress Hotel. Sadly our last visit with 2 other couples it took an hour to get our app and another hour an a half for our entree. It wasn’t for lack of help on the floor, but the kitchen wasn’t getting it done. We will return, but they better figure this out.
We were guests in the hotel (Hyatt Grand Cypress) and I indicated this on the Open Table reservation. When we showed up, however, we were shown to a table right next to the service/bus station — probably the worst table
in the house. We firmly asked to be moved to a better table. The next one was OK but when the bus boy was serving us water I commented that it was too bad the restaurant doesn’t have outdoor seating. He seemed surprised and said “yes, we do”. We asked to be moved (again) and got a lovely table on a very nice patio area. Third time’s a charm — night and day!
The food - my husband had the grouper and I had the crab cakes — was just okay. Grouper was better but crab cakes came cool so asked to have it warmed up. They were very apologetic and did a nice job getting to back to me, although hubby was almost finished by the time I got mine back. Mine was kind of fishy tasting, but maybe that was the type of crab they used. I eat a lot of crab on the West Coast of CA so am used to delicious Dungeness crab cakes.
For $190 with wine, this meal was not a good value. Main benefit was being able to eat at the hotel when we were very tired.
It was Brian’s birthday and we were searching for great seafood in a romantic atmosphere. Hemingway’s delivered big time! Our waiter Brad was knowledgeable and engaged. The calamari was delicious paired with Simi Chardonnay. We followed with the grouper, which disappeared way too soon. Chocolate dessert was awesome in both presentation and taste. We highly recommend this restaurant.
