Beautiful setting, especially at sunset. Nice menus, reasonable prices.
The view is spectacular!
Great food with great views of the bay. The service was very cordial and attentive.
Great ambience and delicious food. Half-price bottles wine was a surprising bonus!
The Salmon Rockefeller had a crisp exterior with a succulent center. Brussels Sprouts are delicious. My wife and I drive across the Bridge for dinner on a regular basis. Hemingways is a favorite
I had the warm spinach salad. It was more like a stew - with potatoes, very little spinach and equal amounts of cooked mushrooms and hard boiled egg. It was good but it wasnt what I was ordered. Overall the food is good and so is the service and the atmosphere is lovely.
Hemingway's is a lovely place. There are all different kinds of options from sandwiches to entrees. We had an informal meal and the food and service were very good. As always the ambience is very nice.
Needed a menu for classy retirement lunch with my boss...Hemingway's fit the bill perfectly.
Food was wonderful. Waitress was very nice, efficient and very accommodating. There were 6 of us and we needed separate checks, she did an excellent job! View of the bay cannot be topped!
Friendly staff, great view (we had reserved a table). Food great - selections from both the Sunday Brunch menu and the regular menu.
AMAZING food and AMAZING view of the sunset over the Chesapeake bay.
We decided to go dinner for Valentine's Day. There was a $99 special (which is a steal for an appetizer each, entree each and dessert each) . We started with the seafood soup. It was filling and delicious. It was full of crabmeat that tasted like they pulled the grab right from the Chesapeake right before serving us. Next was a couple's broiled seafood platter which included lobster tail, oysters Rockefeller, scallops, shrimp, crab cakes, mixed vegetables and red mash potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. The lobster was slightly sweet, and the crab cakes were meaty and had little filler. For dessert, he had a slice of coconut cake, which he said tasted like wedding cake and wanted another slice and I had the creamiest Chambord creme brûlée. The topping was glazed just right and again, THE creamiest creme brûlée. I would have loved to take another cup of soup home. We've been here a handful of times but I'm sure we'll come here more often since it took us less than 30 minutes.
Great food. Excellent service. Great value in for food served in an eastern shore ambiance.
This was our third Valentine's Day in a row at Hemingway's. We love this restaurant. We will be back!
Lovely ala cart menu.
Disappointed with the not crisp batter on my fish and chips! French fries regular and sweet potato same thing. Spinach salad less than spectacular. Scallop dinner was good. Less than what it should or could have been.
very nice table by the window with great view of water, dock and bridge. friendly waitress, and good food. one friend dining with us only wanted a crab cake, waitress provided price (rather high for just one crabcake) but then suggested the crabcake sandwich -- a good deal! we'll return again, was only sorry didn't leave room for dessert. Also did not feel rushed to leave. very pleasant.
This was our first trip to Hemingway's and we were not disappointed. Delicious food, nice variety, friendly service, great value. We will definitely be returning.
Our first visit to Hemingway's was a pleasant surprise. The server was welcoming and friendly, the food was delicious, and they were able to prepare a meal for me that accommodated my multiple food allergies that was still tasty and appetizing.
Beautiful view but the food was not worth the money it was just average
Restaurant completely empty. Good service, though. Waiter was very attentive.
New Years Eve. Very quiet and beautiful setting. Service was great. Food was very good. A little pricy.
Food was great, service wasn’t good and would even say poor. Server brought our meal quickly, despite the fact we asked to let us enjoy our wine before she brought our food. When we wanted another glass of glass our server was no where to be found. Didn’t even check on us if we were enjoying our meal. I ended up going to the bar to get another drink. Again food was delicious, server young and inexperienced.
seating was fine, service was fine, food not so much. little pricey, which I don`t mind paying when food is good but when your serving seafood in Md to Marylanders it needs to be authentic. The chef needs to read a cookbook on how to make imperial crab. what they served was no more than a crabcake smashed in a bowl and if so, they need to improve their crabcake recipe.
They were out of scallops even though it was only 6:30! Wouldn’t allow substitutions even though there dietary concerns. Crab cakes had a lot of filler. There were 8 of us who hadn’t been together in a long time so it was nice to visit. Maybe they left us alone To be nice but they surely could’ve been more attentive.
Hemingways has been our meeting place with family from DC and Baltimore for years. We live in Delaware. It is always welcoming and charming and special because of the spectacular view of the Chesapeake Bay and Bay Bridge. Our past visit was a nice as usual, but exceptional because the staff were so accommodating when we needed to enlarge our seating with an additional table. The maitre 'de was welcoming and helpful and our waitperson was friendly, efficient and charming. The food was predictably yummy. We love their vegetable crab soup and their crab cakes especially. When our waitperson found out it was my birthday, they surprised me with a candle on my dessert. Very thoughtful.
Beautiful day for a table with a view of the Bay. Hailey was a super waiter.
Our waiter was not at all attentive to the table. Once we were seated, I finally had to approach the hostess after 15 minutes because no one had come to the table. He finally came to take our drink and then food order, but after the food was delivered, he never came back to ask how the food tasted, if anyone wanted more water (several did) or another drink, or to ask about any other needs, including, dessert. I had to find him to give him my card so that we could leave.
Excellent food with fantastic view of the bay and sunset. Not too crowded this day/time so noise was not an issue. Service was great.
Although I indicated it was my husbands birthday on Open Table reservation - nothing was said or mentioned to us. Our server was nice but more suited for outside or more casual dining.
Staff was accommodating when we told them we had a handicapped guest. There is an outside elevator for those who cannot walk up the flight of steps.
We were a party of 4 and enjoyed a terrific lunch with a great view of the Chesapeake Bay. Two had fish 'n chips, one had a spinach salad, and I had pan seared rockfish. It was an all around great meal.
My husband and I went on a double date with my mom and dad who are close to 80 years old and kind of picky eaters. Lol They loved their meals, the atmosphere and the views! So happy to have found a place to take them on occassion. My dad and I both had the seafood pot pie and it was incredible! The only small thing to keep in mind is that it is a bit of a walk and there are stairs to get to the dining room. They did have a outdoor elevator that we were able to use so they did not need to go up the stairs, but mom was winded getting to the elevator. Gorgeous renovations too!
My husband had not been to Hemingway’s in close to 30 years and I had never been there due to living far away from its location. We decided to indulge his nostalgia. What we found was a beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay and the bridge, great food, and wonderful ambience.
Waited for 10 mins and server never came to get our drinks. There was only about 20 people there and the waitresses were just up at the bar laugh and caring on. Got up and left. Went to “The Narrows” instead.
Great for watching sunset and the food was great!
Great view of the bay while having a Thanksgiving meal with my husband & his elderly mother. The Prix Fixe menu was generous with diverse choices of an appetizer, salad, entree, & dessert. It also included a turkey plate. The outside lower deck is where me & my husband go during the summer. This was our first venture for Thanksgiving & it was well worth it. Especially since my 92 year old mother in law really enjoyed her meal and the view.😎
The waiter/waitresses, receptionist exceptional service...friendly..Ashley was almost reading our minds. She knew what to bring before we said anything. She is a real gem. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The food was great! We're coming back again.
Always a great view for sunsets and boating here. Food has always been very consistently good - service can be a little off sometimes but generally good.
On the Eastern Shore with a marvelous view of the Bay Bridge. The food was uneven. Fries cold for one & piping hot for another. Out of one item on the lunch menu.
Date Nite! Monday night dining on the eastern shore in the cold fall weather?...nice and quiet in the restaurant. They could have dimmed the lighting a little more, but the restaurant is well appointed, clean, and the staff are friendly. Food was excellent and we love the maps of our Bay on the tables!
