Even with the Corona Virus affecting business, the food and and atmosphere was terrific!
Our server was terrific.
Food was not that great - very salty. Service was VERY SLOW and was not very busy. Menus were so old and torn that we did not want to touch them. Who knows what virus was on them. Tables were sticky - need to clean better.
Fine time xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We enjoyed are meal and will go again this week. The restaurant was quite busy so service was a bit slow. Our server was friendly and our food arrived hot. The dishes weren’t always cleared away before the next course arrived. I think it would be a good idea if they had a bus boy/girl besides setting up the tables went around and cleared away dishes from tables. The restaurant is quite attractive and the food was very good. Will return for the prime rib evening.would definitely suggest having reservations!
Beautiful view, good food, key lime pie was best ever h
The food was very good.
The restaurant and meal were very enjoyable. However, I visited with my handicapped relative and the elevator was out, and the multiple ramps are really not conducive for handicapped individuals who cannot do a lot of walking. Indeed, while we were departing, we saw another decline to even enter the restaurant once they realized that there were five different and somewhat lengthy ramps that they would need to transverse just to enter the restaurant.
It was a busy day before a mardi grad parade
Food was expensive and only "so so". The view is beautiful. We have been there before for Sunday brunch and found that enjoyable.
Our first time to Pensacola Beach. Very good restaurant. Food was very good. Noise level was a little loud, unsure why. Great view overlooking intracoastal waterway.
Love the atmosphere. Food was delicious!
The service was a bit slow, it was freezing and windy at our table, and some general rowdiness from a nearby table.
All in all everything was great, the only issues had been the chill on the deck though beautiful. Due to that the food got cool faster. We did the V-day Special of Steak and Lobster, the Lobster was very small only 2/3 bites total.
We had a wonderful meal & service. The place was really loud, unfortunately, like many restaurants now. They aren’t built to muffle noise. The only bad spot was our table. It was tiny any cramped. We had a reservation but know of a couple of parties without reservations who were seated before us. We’ll go back, just not on Valentine’s or an anniversary.
Valentine’s Day. Very accommodating. The staff got us a new table when I was too cold to sit outside even though they were insanely busy they put our comfort first.
I think it must be a restaurant living on it’s past reputation. Very ordinary food. Lobster bisque with little flavor. I realize it was a busy evening (2/14), but that should not make a difference. Would not return if ever in the area again.
Such a great place for date night! The staff was amazing and our server, she was phenomenal! She was so attentive, friendly, and had such an amazing personality. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the bourbon glazed salmon and I am so glad I chose it. Yumm! We started with the shrimp and crab spinach dip, my oh my it was yummy! Would definitely return here.
We both had Fillet mignon. Was very good. All else was average. Our server was good but could have been somewhat more attentive. I did notice her stations seems to be very far apart so that would be on management. Over all it was a good experience.
Wonderful service & excellent food! Zero wait, thanks to our reservation!
Good food great service
We arrived shortly after opening for Sunday brunch. Although the service was decent, the brunch buffet food was not good at all. None of the fried foods ie okra, shrimp or green tomatoes were crispy, not a hint of crisp to the batter. The other food was lacking in flavor as well. The mash potatoes were edible so that was ultimately my meal. This makes back to back visits (a previous dinner) that the food was not good.
Came for date night with my wife
Overall experience was good
Our waitress was a little quirky but fun and attentive we enjoyed her
The calamari was good and a huge portion for an appetizer probably better for 4 people
The ahi tuna app was very good cooked to her specifications
Ordered maderas very good. The sauce was crazy sweet we didn’t need it
My mahi was good also and a healthy portion
We had sweet tea as our beverage and the wife tried the fried cheesecake as dessert
We had a gift certificate which made the meal reasonable otherwise it would have been pretty pricey
Nice for a special occasion
Hemingway’s has the best brunch buffet, hands down! The food is always top notch, such a variety, and plentiful. Our server Bekah was amazing! She was definitely on her game! Would recommend Hemingway’s to anyone, and bring many out of town guests here.
Hemingway's has been our favorite Pensacola Beach restaurant for many years. We were so disappointed. The service was adequate, but cold & impersonal. The food was bland & the portions were unusually small.
We have eaten at Hemingway's many times, but the meal we got there on this visit was substandard. We had the red snapper with Oscar topping, and it was very disappointing. The fish was overcooked to the point that it was crispy on the top, and the whole dish was very dry. As a rule, when I add a topping, there is some kind of sauce to help flavor the dish, but not on this visit. While we will go back because this experience is not indicative of what we have had in the past, if we were to have the same experience again, it would be our last. I don't know if they have changed chefs, but we could have gotten a much better meal for the same price at any number of other restaurants in the area. Because we enjoy the setting on the water, Hemingway's has been a favorite, especially after church, but this visit was extremely disappointing.
It was New Year's Eve and I felt lucky to get a reservation. Seating was quick. Food was very good. Everyone was happy with the quality of the meal. Grouper was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
We enjoyed a wonderful New Years eve dining experience. We ate early to avoid the party crowd celebrating the new year later in the evening. The service was excellent and our waitress was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The food was excellent and portions were generous. Overall, the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. We would recommend Hemingway's Restaurant to others.
I hate to give a not so great review, but this is the 3rd time we’ve been where a large party consumed the wait staff. It’s great the restaurant tries to accommodate large parties, but it certainly takes away from the rest. Our server was working non-stop and barely had time to make it to our table.
Sorry to say that we invited 6 friends that had never been there prior to yesterday’s brunch. The music is great but so loud you couldn’t have a conversation. 7 people ordered the eggs Benedict and all of the eggs were very over cooked and dry. The service was very slow. The restaurant and bar were not very crowded at all, and I think I know why now. Hope you can get back to the excellent restaurant we used to enjoy so much.
The food was quite good. Service was terrific. The noise took away from the experience.
We so enjoyed our first visit to Hemingway’s. From our server, Jessalyn(?), who was always smiling to our wonderful view. And our food was delicious! So many excellent choices. And excellent drink choices too.
My wife and I had the Pilar Platter. Admittedly, I should have asked about the fish component of the dish before ordering, but wrongly assumed it was some sort of ocean fish, i.e. grouper, mahi-mahi, etc. As we were paying the bill, I asked the server what the fish was and she said Tilapia. Make no mistake, the fish was good, but I was disappointed that it was a farm-raised fish that I generally consider 2nd rate. That is why the food is rated as 4, and not 5.
Megan was our waitress and she was very friendly and talked to us for a bit. The food was great! We were celebrating our 27th wedding Anniversary. Megan served us some bread pudding with ice cream for an Anniversary dessert. That was very special. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff.
The salmon with rice and Cuban black beans was excellent.
Great location overlooking the Santa Rosa Bay!
The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming.. service was extremely fast!! Tried their Trigger fish entree which was fabulous! We would recommend it highly to friends & family.
Made a dinner reservation through open table. The open table app said it was $4 mojitos and $1 fish tacos. Our server said, no they don't have that special today come back on Wednesday. Our server was nice but not attentive. Fortunately, we were there before 6pm and ordered from the special Ten for $10 menu. I had fish tacos with rice and beans. My husband had the chicken marsala. The food was good. The ambiance outside was lacking but since we aren't from Florida we wanted to view the water while we still had a little daylight. The ambiance inside seemed very lovely. Not sure we would go back.
First time sitting outside. Enjoyed. We had Key Lime Shrimp Scampi and Long Boat Key Mahi-Mahi. Both were excellent. Waitress was very pleasant. A very enjoyable evening.
Noisy, but the food was good.
First time at brunch and it was delicious
Nice Cuban inspired restaurant on the Santa Rosa/Pensacola Boardwalk! I’m great full for my Opentable reservation! We arrive a couple minutes early expecting a wait and because of the reservations we were seated immediately! Food was good. Restaurant was busy so the wait for the food was a little long, thankfully we ordered an appetizer which came out quickly! Loved the plantains and key like pie! Overall, I would return again!
