I never ate at Hemingway's before but had a gift certificate to use - I wish I had (10) more gift certificates to use - This place was amazing - The food, the service, the view out the windows overlooking the bridge that crosses over where they have water fire - I was completely blown away - They are definitely a place I will go back to again
5+ stars for everything!!!!

Scallops entree off the menu was excellent. Cod special was also great!! Right or wrong...I tend to prejudge a restaurant by their bread... Warm buns with salted butter! YUM!

Food was good and quality, however maybe let the chefs know that in general the food could be more flavorful. the salmon was good but did not have much flavor besides salt and pepper. Same for the swordfish. I understand letting the fresh fish shine but it was quite boring in flavor profile. Maybe include other new flavors/spices/ etc. Still good but not amazing. The appetizers and raw bar blow the entrees out of the water.

The BEST New England Clam Chowder EVER!! Our whole meal was SUPERB!

Peter our server was excellent! Knew the menu and specials of the night. Pear us with a smooth crispy sweet Resling that went with dinner quite nicely. Awesome job great service! The bartender on staff, love love love the white grape martini he makes. Cant wait to come back for more!

Hemenway’s never fails to impress us with their food or service! We were celebrating Valentines Day a day late and couldn’t have been more pleased. Sara, our server, was over the top in all areas. Thank you , Sara and Hemenway’s staff !!

Had a wonderful romantic dinner at Hemingway’s for Valentine’s Day!! Food was deliciously prepared!! Our waitstaff was excellent...major kudos to Diane!!

I was satisfied with the service overall just disappointed that they ran out of lobster and the stuffing on the shrimp tasted a bit burnt. But I will be going back again for the lobster and the service was great Diane was very friendly offered specials and had no problem bringing the clams back when my husband accidentally ordered raw instead of steamed. I would definitely recommend to others. thank you

Overall was a good experience, restaurant was not that full but that was due to COVID 19 restrictions, however the only downfall i had was the waitress we had only came back to the table once and i would have appreciated if she came back a little more often and was more attentive.

As always Hemenway's delivered a terrific dining experience with high quality servcie and food.

I’ve herd great things about this place so I was excited to bring my wife here for Valentine’s Day and I must say the food and service was perfect. We each had the surf & turf with with the baked stuffed lobster for our main entree but we started with bacon scallops and also some fresh oysters washed down with some wine ☺️ Needless to say we will be returning often for now on.

Best Experience ever on Valentines day!! Great accommodations given we had our 2 yr old son with us. Waitress gave us an amazing experience, with curiosity, humor, enlightenment to our dinner there.... Ask for Theresa - Believe me best if the best !!! Oh and the Oysters for Starters is a MUST !!

I ordered the two lb baked stuffed lobster. The stuffing was outstanding but the lobster meat was kind of tasteless.

It was the first time my wife and I have dined at Hemenway's. The food was great and the service was amazing. We don't go out very often without the children so this was the perfect date day for us. We love to eat and try new things so we will definitely be back at some point.

The food was excellent as usual. I had the baked stuffed lobster. What I liked about the dish is that the stuffing had very little stuffing- it was primarily seafood..

Excellent service and atmosphere! Loved the scallops and lobster ravioli but thought that the calamari appetizer needed a lot more peppers.

Our last dinner at Hemenway's was excellent. Unfortunately this time, it was quite disappointing. First of all our table, tucked away in the corner and too small to be comfortable (while other larger tables were still available and later used for couples). We should have said something.
The wine by the glass is limited and very classic (apart from an Austrian rose). The food was ok, but not extraordinary. My swordfish was in fact quite basic (I could not taste the orange, mint or fennel): just grilled fish with potatoes. Service was pretty much at par.

Highly recommend Hemenway's for great customer experience.

The entire dining experience was fantastic. We sat in a booth near the windows and watched the sun set over the river. Danny, our server, was great and his recommendations were spot on. I had the fisherman’s fra diavolo stew. The array of seafood was outstanding- lobster, swordfish, shrimp, scallops and clams with just the right amount of spice! My husband had a two pound lobster stuffed with scallops, shrimp, lobster claw and white fish. This was the best tasting seafood that we have ever eaten! We ended with a piece of the key lime pie. Delicious.

Consistently amazing!!

Theresa was our server and she was absolutely perfect! She is classy, genuine, and easy to chat with. We appreciated how much she valued wearing her mask properly and gave us time to put ours on as she arrived to our table. Theresa is a server you want to keep going back to and that’s exactly what we’ll do. Highly recommend her!

The only criticism from our visit are the alcoholic beverages. They are a bit on the pricey side, which is ok with us, except that they were light on the liquor. I got two dirty martinis and felt no differently after drinking them. I usually only have two drinks when I go out and have a nice tipsy vibe.

Very good! Enjoyed our meal. Service was great, a little rushed with apps and salad but server apologized and held off on our entrees. Nice wine list, reasonable prices. Limited menu due to winter and covid but still plenty to choose from.

Food and service is always excellent! A favorite place to dine when I visit the area.

Everything was perfect !

What an all-around great experience! Everything from the service and the food when we walked in, was a 10! Our server Brian made the experience that much better! We were celebrating a birthday, and he and the Hemenway's staff made it such a great experience! The food and drinks were awesome! I appreciate the impression everyone worked hard to leave for my party. I look forward to coming back again!

Very happy to see a local legend and favorite abuzz with diners again! The restaurant has ensured proper distancing between parties and staff observe all required precautions when dealing with clientele and each other. The food was, as always, fabulous, and we were very happy to be dining out again!

Our experience at Hemenways was fantastic. Danny, our server, was attentive and funny and made our evening. The food was delicious and came just at the right time. We hope they keep the dividers between the tables as it made the noise level very low.
