Heck's Cafe - Cleveland Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding server. When we arrived little heat and the management was apply to supply
heaters for the the diners. cudoos to the owners and management.
Have been here twice within the month with friends and family and it has not disapoointed,
The staff is amazing!!!!!!
It took them 30 minutes to make one of their "signature" drinks (ohio city martini). Our food took a little over an hour to get to us. My sisters and I all ordered different brunch meals including french toast for the table. Everything we ordered was bland. The hollandaise sauce tasted like melted butter, the eggs in my sister's omelette had no flavor whatsoever. My crab cake benedict was super bland and the portion was quite small for the price ($14). The french toast was ok, but it's hard to screw up french toast. Our waiter was MIA most of the meal to the point where my sister got up from our table on the patio and got the things we needed (silverware, napkins, ketchup, etc...we should've just tipped her instead!). We don't plan on going back.
My husband and I went to Hecks Cafe for brunch on Sunday at 11am (with a reservation). When we arrived the hostess was no where to be found and we waited over 5 minutes until she came to great us (and never acknowledged our wait). Then we had to wait ~40 minutes for our food to arrive. We overheard another waiter apologizing to their guests for the delay due to a large party, however, our server never apologized or told us about it. When our food finally arrived, my husband's was not edible. He'd ordered the Chicken and Waffles and I've never seen a more dry/overcooked piece of chicken in my life. I can't believe they actually served this to a guest. I had a burger than was just ok; it lacked salt and flavor and definitely didn't live up to the hype. Needless to say, I will not be back to this establishment.
Hecks used to be one of my favorites, would dine there several times a year - but unfortunately this was my last visit. It just isn't the same quality anymore. The visit before this wasn't good either but I chalked it up to a bad night. My order came wrong and everyone else got their food and I had to wait for my order to be recooked and brought back. Didn't get any credit on the bill for this. My friend got a medium rare burger when she ordered medium and the bun was soggy. My other friend ordered the brie and it wasn't melted and had to be cut with a knife to eat! Service was good - but that is the only positive thing about our experience.
