Heck's Cafe - Cleveland Ratings and Reviews
Three Ohio City residents; one who did not want to cook. We made a reservation through opentable, which was easy to use and quick. Friendly staff. Good food, esp for burger-lovers. Not many other choices, but the place is known for the delicious burgers. You should go!
We had a great experience at Heck's. It was my daughter's 19 birthday and they accommodated the occasion very well, including putting the special candles we had brought with us. Our family includes a couple vegetarians and I am a committed carnivore. The menu had an appropriate range and all of the meals were very well prepared. The service was awesome -- lots of personality, timely but not obtrusive. All of us agreed it is place to go back to.
My steak was PERFECTLY prepared. I was sad that they made the decision to kill the prie fixe menu for NYE but, I understand you need to get the reservations and $59 per person will scare away folks who don't want to commit to a 4 course meal. However, I thought the options looked great. I appreciate the courtesy call letting me know about the change. Wait staff and management did a great job of covering for the kitchen not being prepared. (ie: Out of filet special, out of fingering potatoes for strip steak on regular menu) I'm sure next NYE will run more smoothly for them. Delightful staff!!
Ordered the salmon dinner there was such a small piece of salmon and no Brussel sprouts were in the dishes that was advertised as including them. Waiter went back and got a side plate of them which made the dinner not right. The portion size was a lunch portion instead of dinner. Not a great experience not worth what I spent
Outstanding server. When we arrived little heat and the management was apply to supply
heaters for the the diners. cudoos to the owners and management.
Have been here twice within the month with friends and family and it has not disapoointed,
The staff is amazing!!!!!!
It took them 30 minutes to make one of their "signature" drinks (ohio city martini). Our food took a little over an hour to get to us. My sisters and I all ordered different brunch meals including french toast for the table. Everything we ordered was bland. The hollandaise sauce tasted like melted butter, the eggs in my sister's omelette had no flavor whatsoever. My crab cake benedict was super bland and the portion was quite small for the price ($14). The french toast was ok, but it's hard to screw up french toast. Our waiter was MIA most of the meal to the point where my sister got up from our table on the patio and got the things we needed (silverware, napkins, ketchup, etc...we should've just tipped her instead!). We don't plan on going back.
My husband and I went to Hecks Cafe for brunch on Sunday at 11am (with a reservation). When we arrived the hostess was no where to be found and we waited over 5 minutes until she came to great us (and never acknowledged our wait). Then we had to wait ~40 minutes for our food to arrive. We overheard another waiter apologizing to their guests for the delay due to a large party, however, our server never apologized or told us about it. When our food finally arrived, my husband's was not edible. He'd ordered the Chicken and Waffles and I've never seen a more dry/overcooked piece of chicken in my life. I can't believe they actually served this to a guest. I had a burger than was just ok; it lacked salt and flavor and definitely didn't live up to the hype. Needless to say, I will not be back to this establishment.
