Food was not as good as it’s been the last 3 times I’ve been here. Maybe Seattle Restaurant Week popularity is to blame? I had the trout and presentation was not the same for the 3 other patrons I had with me.
For instance one dish was missing the sauce component, the other was a little more fried and for the desert course the panna cotta was burnt.. the waiter said it was part of the Smokey Flavor but the individual who had it said otherwise.
I still love this place but this last visit was not like previous visits.
Soup appetizer was delicious. Very good entrees, not spectacular. Dessert too sweet. Very busy and loud, not particularly conducive to a date and conversation. It consistently has a delightful party atmosphere. By the looks of the multi-peopled tables, that is its strength.
Our server Susan is the best! And she’s gorgeous!
Loved the restaurant, bar and service. Met our youngest son who is an American pilot. He loved it too!
Food and drinks were delicious. However, service left much to be desired. We were seated immediately, but it took 15 min before a server came by our table-and only after we asked someone to help us. She was nice, and food arrived quick. Our first course well before we got our first cocktails. :( ... But then it was spotty again thereafter. It wasn't very attentive - we had to reach out to order dessert, and our second helping of ice cream took a long time, one having already melted when it arrived to us.
I have no problem supporting mandatory service charges at restaurants - but I'm unhappy when the level of service isn't what it should be for 20%.
Fantastic service, food and ambiance
I took my friend to Heartwood for his birthday on a Saturday night. We had reservations at 8pm. We arrived at 7:45 and happily grabbed an available bar opening. The drinks were well made.
Perhaps they were short-staffed that night, because we noticed our counter seating appeared to be ready by 8pm, but no host or server came to retrieve us for the seating until 8:10pm. (Just a tip: they ask that you close out your bar tab before you are seated in the main room, so if you are anticipating that, you might want to request a bill and get that taken care of ahead of time). We let the server know we had reservations at another bar at 9:45pm, and ordered a charcuterie plate when we sat down. The charcuterie arrived at 8:45pm. The kitchen staffed looked swamped, which I can appreciate and empathize with, yet the restaurant was perhaps 30% full of diners. We reiterated the later reservations to our server, and put in our main dish orders (steak and braised short ribs). Those arrived roughly at 9:10, so we were able to eat somewhat quickly, pay our bill, and leave on time. The meat was all cooked very well, and the short ribs were well braised and had great flavor.
The servers were very gracious about the whole situation, but it was somewhat mystifying as to why the staff was so backlogged that night.
The restaurant was wildly understaffed for a Saturday evening which really impacted the quality of service.
My friends birthday. Our service was beyond good, the scallops and cauliflower purée were amazing!!! We were on a time schedule to make a show and our waiter was so great!! I’ve already told many people to go to Heartwood Provisions and I’ll definitely be back!
The food and wine pairings were exquisite. We much appreciated our wait staff moving us away from the large loud parties. Everything exceeded our expectations.
Scallops and foie gras were excellent, service excellent, like this place a lot. Pancake accompanying foie gras was best I've ever had.
We ended up getting some shared plates rather than mains. Everything was delicious.
Food was overpriced, salty, and the meat (pork) was really dry. Menu was a little too “chi chi” and we struggled to find things to order - plate half empty. Table next to us somehow got a burger that wasn’t on the menu - we were jealous.
Disappointing. This restaurant was part of the "Savor Seattle" tour. I enjoyed their "Original Provision" dish (beef jerky in a spicy sauce) so we returned for a dinner. I was excited to support this largely female owned and operated venture. Both of us ordered the Prime Filet Mignon, medium rare and medium. Both were undercooked and I question it was 8oz before cooking. Our server was distracted, didn't check on us and kept forgetting our drinks. It was a disappointing experience.
Birthday dinner spot. Really fun. Well designed. Good service. Loved the drink pairings. Brussel sprouts amazing. My sister didn’t love her meal, and when she told the staff they more than made up for it!
Perfect in every way!
We had a new server this time, and while we've always raved about service at Heartwood Provisions, we really enjoyed Dan. He took the time to answer all our questions, accommodated our food sensitivities etc., and did it all with a smile. Very personable service and a great overall experience. Food was AMAZING! Always fun to introduce friends and family to Heartwood because it's a foolproof wonderful time!
We stopped in Thursday 7/25 for dinner. Overall we had a great experience! We plan to come back the next time we’re in town!
I always eat here when in Seattle. I love the crispy brussels sprouts! I also love whatever salad they're serving with ricotta and fruit. This time it was grilled nectarines and tomatoes. Delish! My companion ordered the beet salad. It was fantastic, too! Also, the basket is fries we're crispy and delicious.
Fun place to meet up with friends or date night.
Food was okay. Heavy on the salt but overall experience was great because our server was exceptional
Fantastic meal and drink pairings!
The first time I came here the food was absolutely delicious! The second time we had to provide some feedback about the potatoes not been big crunchy enough (they were boiled instead of fried like the first time). We received another plate of potatoes on the house and they were delicious.
Susan who waited on us at the counter was outstanding.
Hands down the best restaurant in SEA! Love visiting this place!
Great modern food. You will leave happy.
My wife and I really enjoy coming here for dinner, this was our fourth visit. The chefs four course meal was amazing, the food is simply remarkable and we will come back for sure. Great food, great service, terrific atmosphere and wine pairings that will blow your mind. So happy to live right down the street from this amazing eatery.
The food was amazing, we had a wonderful dinner on Father's Day, and the waitress was awesome, made suggestions, answered questions and was a true delight.
Father’s Day Celebration.
Reservation for 5. Started off poorly with lack of service in the dinning room, waiter non existent. Moved to the Bar section where the service and staff were outstanding..
I wish they would make some quieter areas. Really great food and service is diminished by the noise level!
Great meal, and kudos to the very professional somm who swooped in out of nowhere to keep our clueless waiter from mishandling a precious old bottle, and then proceeded with a perfect decant. This is a great restaurant for wine savvy diners who love to share cellar treasures.
The service was great! I liked all of the different options they had on the menu, although it was really small selection. I wish they did have more to choose from! The ambiance and the way the restaurant had everything was very nice, i really liked how it wasn’t super dark inside. :)
Two friends and I had reservations for a table, but opted to sit at the bar for Happy Hour.
We were met with the most welcoming, talented and informed bartenders, who made us lovely drinks and gave great food recommendations.
We all would come back again!
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we were greeted w/enthusiasm & warmth. Everyone from the hostess, staff & our personal server, Delonna (she’s awesome) was professional, gracious and considerate. Probably one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. Greatly appreciated the attention to every detail, layers of incredible flavors & even having the opportunity to meet w/the Chef!
Can’t wait to come back again!
A restaurateur in Seattle recommended this restaurant to my friends and I. The food was fabulous but the service was outstanding! Such personality in the host, server, and the chef! Thank you for such a wonderful night! Will definitley return and recommend to others.
We enjoyed our dinner at Heartwood, but unfortunately didn't hit that desired 5 star experience... we loved the ambiance and our waitress was awesome. Cocktails were excellent! The food highlights were the spring salad and brussel sprouts side, believe it or not. Really delicious... however, we shared the main course pork chop that was disappointing. At $35, I expect MUCH better! It was really fatty, and we cut off at least 1/3 of the total weight.
Appetizer, salad, main course and mixed drink were all superb. We had scallops and they were 0some of the best we've eaten. Waygu beef jerky is scrumptious. The only dish we weren't fond of was a chocolate dessert that was unremarkable. Our server promptly took it off our bill. Becky was our server. To say she was delightful is an understatement. My daughter & I have eaten at 45 restaurants in Seattle in the last 5 years and Becky is in the top 3 when it comes to service & personality. This was our 1st Heartwood visit. Its vibrant, has great food, nice decor and we will go again.
What a poorly run restaurant. I am a foodie and live in New York. I was recommended by the concierge in my hotel to try this restaurant. After sitting for approximately 10 minutes I had to ask someone who is my server. I ordered the pork chop. It came out in 3 pieces which 2 of them were totally fat. I asked to speak to the manager who told me the pork chop they serve is on the fatty side. After letting him know this they prepared a new one that was over cooked and dry. The manager Jack Johnson became arrogant saying we have the number one chef in Washington and sided with the chef over myself. So much for the customer is always right. This manager should NOT be running a restaurant.
At that point I left the restaurant and went across the street where I was actually appreciated.
This manager should be fired as he was as arrogant as anyone I have encountered in the service industry.
Maybe that’s why the restaurant was 75 percent empty throughout my dinner.
A bit of advice stay away!!
Everything was amazing. Andrew the bartender served us the best drinks we’ve had in Seattle and the food was great too! We had two young children with us and they were very accommodating and helpful. Thanks!
