An employee-owned establishment, the Heartland Black + Gold Bar and Eatery in Port Chester, NY has been recognized by OpenTable as a Diners' Choice and is a popular local destination for a unique brew served alongside hearty fare.
There are always seasonal beers on tap at Heartland Black + Gold Bar and Eatery and those selections work perfectly with the menu selections. These will include soups and salads, appetizers like sliders or nachos and chophouse favorites that will satisfy even the biggest appetites. Main dishes include sandwiches and large salads, grilled classics like steak or chicken and oversized sandwiches. The Heartland Black + Gold Bar and Eatery also has a handy prix fixe menu too.
Service is very slow, inattentive, difficult to flag down, food is just okay. If the location was not so close to the theater, I would not eat there.
Poor service. Had trouble getting anyone to come take our order, then mistakes with the order. Food was mediocre at best. Maybe it was just an off night but there are plenty of much better options in Port Chester.
Very simple menu. Beers is what Heartland is about. Good meeting with your friends place. Gets the job done for times when your focus isn't totally on the fine dining experience.
I arrived 45 minutes prior to my husband and our server Quentin could not have been nicer explained the nights specials, making sure i was comfortable and served quickly. When my husband arrive he joked about his lateness and brought him his beer asap. Great food great atmosphere and great beer! We will be back and will ask for Quentin to be our waiter!!!
Good food, cool space, fun for small to large groups. Food goes a bit beyond the average brewery fare.
I should have listened to friends who warned the food here is not very good. If all you want are beer and nachos then this is the place for you. We decided to eat a pre concert dinner. That was a mistake. The soup was cold and terrible. I had a chicken club sandwich. The chicken was processed and rubber. Hamburgers were either overlooked or undercooked.
This place should be avoided.
Been here several times since the Capitol reopened for pre-concert and post-concert fare. Always been good. Its super convenient, and a great looking old station house with a fabulous beer garden. But this last time we all thought that the food really took a downward turn. Of the 4 of us eating, no one liked what they ordered. And I know its a beer hall, but forget ordering wine. Will stick to a post concert beer from now on.
a great place to eat before seeing a show at the Capital good service , good food, nice outside area, it was a rainy night and we sat under cover next to the fireplace, perfect!
Food and ambiance was great. It's cool how they transformed the old train station into a restaurant.
Great to try a new spot with outstanding draft beer and a very respectable burger! Definitely worth for a casual spot with just your date or a bunch of friends.
