The food was so delicious, I originally wanted the pike but they were out of it so I got the elk instead. It was so good. Tim our waiter was so nice. He even offered to cut up my dad's food, since he is recovering from surgery. It was great, especially with the 2 for 1 entree special. My drink was also very good! Can't wait to be be back.
Our experience was great! Great service and delicious food.
This is our first time in Breckinridge and also dining at Hearthstone. The atmosphere was warm, the service was excellent and food incredible! You MUST come here for a meal!! We ordered the Blackberry Elk and the Harris Ranch Beef Filet which were outstanding! Every mouthful was a taste sensation; each dish comes with perfectly paired vegetables and sides which only enhanced the meal. The staff at Hearthstone made us feel welcomed and relaxed. We had drinks in the bar ahead of time and Adam the bartender was so helpful in sharing his favorite hikes and vista points. Our waiter Eric was very attentive and definitely made our meal special with his desert suggestions! We devoured the English Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Triple Chocolate Decadence!! What a way to cap an excellent meal and a beautiful day!
We had a great experience at Hearthstone. One of our favorite restaurants in Colorado.
Has been one of our favorite Breckenridge restaurants since the '80's. We love coming here.
We have been religious in going every year during spring skiing at a minimum and we are always thrilled with Hearthstone. The evening is always fond to us. This year Tim was our waiter and he went above and beyond our expectations. The mussels appetizer is outstanding as was the ossobuco, ono fish, and sticky toffee pudding dessert (?) Their bar and wine list are exceptional too. (Try the strawberry ceranno martini :-)
After I asked them if they had any soup other than mushroom soup, and
Food was outstanding. A must do if you go to Breckenridge.
The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. The menu was unique and very creative. A super fine dining experience.
The food and service were excellent as always. We started with the Fried Octopus that ws unique and memorable.
The lamb was just to die for. My husband and I ordered the stuffed dates, blackberry elk, and Colorado lamb, and we had to have a moment of silence when we tasted our food. The food at this place definitely lives up to its #1 TripAdvisor ranking.
Awesome food and service. A must visit when in Breckenridge.
Good rich food, very small tables, and hot upstairs. It was very un personable for how much you spend on dinner. You feel rushed out to turn over the table.
Excelente lugar y muy buena comida. M
Sergio was an outstanding server, food was fantastic. Very positive experience, as always.
We enjoyed a really lovely family meal, food & wind were superb. No hesitation in recommending
Awe inspiring view of Breck, beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food.
Very eclectic decor - love music when dining, but music was too eclectic.... BUDDY holly, then Italian Aria, 70's hit, then 50's again. Pick a genre, stick with it for a while. In my estimation, jazz would have beeb more appropriate for a dining experience.
Pork osso bucco wasvery good, but dry at the end. Suggest some of the delish cooking liquid might benefit the dish at the bottom of the bowl.
Great finale dinner for a fun family trip. Lamb was awesome!
We make sure to stop at Hearthstone every time we come to Breck. This was our 3rd trip this year, but we were a little disappointed. The appetizers were amazing (grilled octopus and scallops) but the main dishes (ono and filet) were just a little bland. I had the ono a month ago, but the way it was prepared this time was just not as good. The food was still good quality, but the excellence we are used to was missing. I am sure we will be back and give it another try.
Excellent food & service
Wonderful place . Food was on point .
The service was very good, but the food was OVERpriced and mediocre, at best. The pork belly buns were heavy, doughy and cold w/little flavor. The mushroom soup was too thick, heavy and tasted like it came out of a Trader Joe's box. The scallops were bland. And most disappointingly, the Western Slope Squash Capellini consisted of very uninteresting zucchini noodles (ZOODLES!) for a ridiculous price of $31! The 80's rock music was a rather odd accompaniment to the tired victorian decor. We cannot figure out how the Hearthstone is so highly rated, as it was a huge disappointment.
Great service from Sergio and excellent wine
While the menu stays largely consistent year over year, the food remains excellent. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and timely. The cocktail list is both extensive and, as we've tried, excellent. They also have a great wine list. The views of the mountain are wonderful if you've got the right table.
Requested over an over that I wanted to be seated in either of the front rooms on the main level. We were taken upstairs and seated at a small table right next to the bar. Two major frustrations:
• Every single time a staff member walked behind me in the aisle my chair was bumped it nudged. This is unacceptable in a restaurant where I am spending $300 for a nice dinner. I was seated with people that came to the bar area for drinks and appetizers following their ski day.
• was unbelievably loud and unprofessional environment. The people sitting at the bar were loud and one man must have dropped the ”F” bomb in almost every sentence. My kids were appalled and I was almost at the point of getting up and leaving.
We eat at Hearthstone every year when in Breckenridge. This year twice. $350 the first night (Monday) and ~$300 on Friday when seated at the bar.
Friday’s dinner was a horrible experience. Should have chosen another restaurant for our last day of vacation at Breck.
We were looking forward to a fabulous meal as we have experienced great dining there each year we come to Breck. I made reservations for a party of 4, several months ago. We were seated in front of the stairs & server area adjacent to a large party & a private party in another room. Our server was cold, inattentive & rude. Our table was unfortunately in a terrible location. The restaurant is in an old Victorian style home & all the servers, support staff & customers must navigate up & down extremely narrow stairs, 3 feet from our table. All evening we had to watch too many congregate in front of the stairs with massive food trays, dirty dish trays & customers going up & down the stairs ALL EVENING. Watching this circus was very uncomfortable. When the staff wasn’t running up & down the stairs they were pouring into the server station next to the stairs. The noise, the mayhem, the waiting with full trays of dirty dishes in front of our table while waiting to descend the stairs was a horrible experience!!!! To make matters worse the table next to us, party of about 12 were loud & playing a phone game all evening. Our food was good, steaks however were undercooked but okay. When one is dropping over $100 a person on a meal, it should be an outstanding experience. Terrible time, won’t ever go back! There should NEVER be a table in front of the awkward & overused stairs & service area. So disappointed!
Loved it! Thank you!
Exceptional experience! I sent my parents here for their 48th Anniversary. The staff made the night incredible for them - they set them up with a customized menu they could take with them - great service great wine and my parents could not say enough about the food! Thank you for making this night very special for them!
We have dined here on many occasions and always enjoyed it. The food is a “cut above the average” featuring a varied and interesting menu, but so is the price! The staff are really attentive, the views are wonderful (if seated by a window which I would recommend), but be prepared for a rather steep check, although you may think it is worth it. Enjoy your dinner in a lovely old building.
Not what we were expecting. Food salty and way overpriced.
Great ambiance and awesome service!
Seared Octopus and the Lamb was outstanding!!
This dinner would've been so much better had my husband and I not ordered the Hawaaiin fish special which was accompanied by a tomato sauce. It was awful. I should've known the combination wouldn't be good. I wish I had gone with what I had planned on ordering, the quinoa/spinach salad and the scallops. The couple with us enjoyed their choices. Everything else was great and we would definitely return.
Outstanding!! Great way to end a great week in Breck. Will be back next year.
I'm honestly not sure it could possibly be better. Our sever Alex was on her A game she in detail could tell us about any and every dish and cocktail on the menu.
Good food fancy and expensive wine overall a nice place.
Service was wonderful! Food was really good too! Loved the atmosphere of the old house.
We went for a birthday and were not disappointed. We noted when making a reservation that it was a birthday celebration and got a special Happy Birthday menu for the birthday girls. Everything we had was fabulous. The waiter was friendly and attentive but not too present when we were visiting. The drinks were great. We shared two appetizers and three entrees between four people and were stuffed. The charred octopus was wonderful and the crispy lobster was amazing. The flavor and cook was spot on!! For entrees we had the lamb, the elk and the scallops. All three were awesome. Our favorites were the scallops and the lamb. The carrot cake to finish was great as well. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Breckenridge.
Superb service, great menu. Seated downstairs, near window. Excellent spot for us.
