Hands down the best restaurant experience in the East Village.
We went for bunch. I'm a huge fan of Marco Canora and Brodo so was excited to try it. The food at Hearth was delicious, as were the drinks, even though the brunch menu is kind of limited. Something was going on that day I think, as our food took forever to arrive--even though there were very few tables when we went. The outdoor setup is fine for warm weather, but not if it's cold.
Dining at Hearth is always a pleasure--wonderful food (spring lettuce salad, roast cod with nettles and potatoes, a great ricotta cheesecake), great cocktails and wine list, and wonderful service. I've never had a meal here that wasn't exceptional--the best restaurant in the East Village and one of the best in the city.
Last Sunday evening, there was an extremely loud large group celebrating a birthday seated nearby--in fact, they were so boisterous, we could barely hear ourselves talk. They should have been placed in a separate area or even outdoors; it's not as if they rented out the entire space. Their presence was inconsiderate and disruptive to other guests, and your management missed the mark by not moving them elsewhere, or at least asking them to lower the volume. The food itself was excellent and the service gracious, but Hearth does not seem like the kind of establishment to cater to such a boorish group of individuals. Their presence ruined the experience for everyone. l
Hearth still delivers with an inventive but still homey menu. The specialty cocktails were great, and I’m still thinking about the dark chocolate pudding!
nice outdoor spot for lunch and dinner with well prepared food and great wine selection.
Great food as always. Still waiting for a gluten free pasta option. And, why don't you list if wines are biodynamic, etc on your wine list?
Food was amazing and delicious! Service was grand! Ambiance was divine, so romantically lit but great for a date or a beautiful meal with friends. Highly recommend and definitely bookmarking for the future
Food is good, but you could do better at many Italian places, especially for the price.
Hearth was nothing short of exceptional! Always get the garlic bread!
Love your menu. Keep up with the seasonal changes. Would love to see a gluten free pasta option. Thanks for feeding me!
I’ve been dining there for years and I’ve never been disappointed. During the Covid era everything is different, felt a little less intimate. The homemade pasta was spectacular, with peas mint and pecorino.
We choose Heath for my birthday celebration. We were in awe for 1: great customer service 2: the atmosphere 3: the cocktails (omg) and 4: The Food (omg Omg Omg!) fresh, cooked with care, presentation was amazing and overall, an experience that we want to repay again in the near future!
Hearth never fails to please. Always outstanding and lovely service. A true gem in NYC.
Like sitting in grandma’s house with all your favorite dishes
With service from the most friendly people
Great pre fix meal for Easter! Hearth never disappoints.
First time here in a long time. And its still a go getta.
Food and service were both excellent. Loved the menu, a little pricey but it's the best of the best.
Always an excellent meal and experience even in a pandemic.
Consistent top notch quality and service. Will go back again and again.
Food was great even in small servings. Just felt it was pricey for the american of food that was served. Most of all the service was poor. My company wanted a Coke and the waiter responded that they don’t serve soda. He didn’t even offer an option for another drink/beverage.
Really lovely ! Food was great.
This is my favorite local spot. The staff is always attentive and welcoming. And I know the food is made with care and integrity. Everything I've ever had at Hearth has been delicious. And the drinks are pretty great too! I also appreciate that the restaurant uses local suppliers and keeps the environment in mind.
Amazing food and a terrific wine list. Friendly staff, as well. Thumbs up.
Always reliable with food, wine and service. Well worth the money given what you get. If anything, would love to see some changes to the menu since I'm there a lot but of all times to not nitpick, now is the time to just enjoy what you get cause it's always great. Would love to see more sweet potatoes on the menu. Good gluten free options. Thank you a million times.
Food was amazing. Maybe some of the best being served in restaurants during Pandemic. Chef Marco was incredibly personable and gracious. Loved the rabbit, meatballs, calamari salad and the chickpea pancakes.
So good and great service! Everything was great!
as always wonder food and wine
Very comfortable setting and Great staff
Well, the gnocchi was not available, and no tasting menu, but the food remains as solidly delicious and well-prepared as always. Nicely spaced outdoor seating, good drinks - overall excellent.
Great food, wine, & service.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant. First course we ordered their garlic bread, which was made from sour dough bread, crispy, and delicious. I had the WHOLE GRAIN MACCHERONI: pork ragu, whipped ricotta, rosemary -it was filling and delicious.
Only thing on the menu that did not work was the non-alcoholic PINEAPPLE ROSEMARY GINGER SODA. the pineapple overwhelmed the other two flavor. NOT a good mix.
Great food as always. Wonderful service. And a 10 min popup musical concert.
Very Cozy and warm atmosphere. Perfectly cooked pasta and great service!
This was our third visit. Food was fantastic again, esp. the Ribolatta soup and the rabbit entree. The only complain is that it was a little cold as the waiters go outside to serve the outdoor dining people. We asked the waiter to turn the heat up and he did.
We had a very early seating at 5.15 pm which was great, but the place filled up really quickly and we thought it was too full for 35% capacity. We left briskly after only 1h spent there.
One more thing - the table napkins are shedding so bad, we were covered in white fluff!! Ladies don't wear anything black or dark or velvet - that would be disastrous.
Hearth - please change your fabric napkins
Yummy snacks and sides, plus an interesting list of BTG wines made for a cozy & comfortable late brunch. Do not miss the cecina pancake, which was a crispy delight. Staff was warm and personable. This is a do-again.
Amazing service as always. Great place.
Great cocktails and excellent pasta. Nice vibe Inside. Waitstaff very attentive.
Hearth has a very limited and restrictive brunch menu and it’s only suitable if you want to eat a heavy red meat based dish or load up on a variety of potatoes. I would not recommend it for brunch.
Hearth is a homey, intimate space and the food is fabulous! Highly recommend this place and look forward to returning again:)
Delicious food and most importantly very clean food that digests perfectly. No use of crappy oils such as canola, vegetable oils or other horrible oils. Grass-fed/pastured meats and great quality produce.
The burger tasted amazing and I really enjoyed the cecina.
