An exceptional experience making for an exceptional evening. Quite simply one of the five best meals we have ever had. We participated in both the tasting menu and the beverage pairing, both of which were masterfully presented, perfectly paired, and delicious beyond review. An anniversary we will never forget, from Jefferson’s sincerity in serving us, to the food moment after food moment menu, we could not recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you, Hearth.

Hearth is a real gem. Great menu options for brunch as my little family can be finicky. I had the greens and eggs (which was really good) but everyone in our group was pleased with what he/she ate. Just wanted to give "shouts-out" to our waiter, Owen Matthews, and the host, Whitney Davis, who were both very attentive and supremely helpful. We'll definitely look Health up again when we return to the City for the day.

Continued Success!

Our 4th or 5th trip to Hearth. Got the tasting menu. Everything was wonderful, varied, interesting, tasty, and plenty of food. Great cocktails too. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

The kitchen at Hearth is humming, and the food, all locally sourced, is absolutely delicious. Paired with an extensive and very interesting wine list. In a cozy brick walled room.

This is one of my very favorite restaurants, and I am a very picky foodie.

To be honest, I didn't have super high expectations, but I was blown away. The cocktails were incredible, as were the food and ambiance. I will definitely recommend to others, and I can't wait to go back myself - I'd love to try brunch next.

My dish of eggs over Easy with bacon and potatoes was ok except for the bacon and potatoes which were Hard. Too hard for me.
The eggs and kale Ragu that my daughter order was excellent.

The service was great, but the room temperature was really cold! They were nice to turn off the air conditioning that was blowing right in our seated area. The building isn’t well ventilated - our clothes smelled like the food when we got home. The food was hit or miss. They used too much aged cheese in their dishes, which over powered the flavour. We loved the Cauliflower and duck dumplings!

First time at Hearth and food was really good. I love the small plates, and the entrees were creative and delicious. Only 4 stars instead of 5 as I found menu a little light on the greens..so if you’re in the mood for fabulous comfort food that you can share, enjoy! Wine selection was excellent, and ambience was great- tables close together but not too noisy, comfortable seating. Excellent wait staff. No waiting for table or food. Wish I had had room for dessert!

My husband and I came here to top off an anniversary trip to NYC. We wanted a nice sit down dinner and this was exactly what we got! We opted for the tasting menu and it was delicious! Service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and fairly casual. The only thing that was the slightest bit off putting was that the tables were really close together, but I am not sure if that is an east coast thing or not. It did not take away from our experience, it was just different.

Amazing as always. Hearth is truly one of the best places in town. Very rarely a restaurant keeps a consistently great menu and yet continues to be innovative and perfectly curated.

The food can be wonderful, though I ordered the Fusilli, did not like or eat it, and they took it off my bill. But the worst was that it was Saturday night and the noise was terrible. Sitting across a small table, my partner and I could barely hear each other and had to shout. I might try it once more on a weekday early to see if the noise is bearable. The hamburger, which I have had before, is excellent, without bun and a combo of meats.

Been here several times when in NYC. Our brunch food was great, as usual. Our problem was that our waitstaff never showed up at our table. We had to flag down other waitstaff to get our orders in and to pay the bill. We will return.

Killer meal, helps if your into the grass fed, bone broth, anti biotic free trend.

Started with a complimentary shot of squash soup, why yes thank you. For app's we had the cauliflower puree, bone broth and steak tartare. Cauliflower puree was unusual almost tasted like hummus, very unusual and tasty. The tartare was amazing albiet a small portion (I like a large quantity of raw beef). The bone broth was very nice compliment to the other apps and healthy.

For dinner we both had the brisket / short rib / liver / heart burger with onions and cheese. It comes no bun. Was it the best burger in NYC, no, but it was damn tasty. Had a half side of pasta and the garlic bread. Both were Artisinal quality bread and pasta and ensured I was well nourished, ahhh haha.

Finished with the cider donut dessert as all yelpers were raving about them. fan-tastic finish to a great meal.

Waitress was great too, super nice and on top of her service game.

Highly recommend this spot. Will come back again, left extremely full. Enjoyed all the food. Had to walk off the meal, with a long walk home. Bring a date and he/she will be impressed. Go with a group and enjoy communal culinary eating experience.

Came to Hearth with my wife and her sister for the tasting menu with wine pairing and we had a fabulous time. The food was really delicious with unique twists and takes on comfort Italian paired with some of the best wines I have had in a long time and an animated and excited sommelier. It was so great to see and hear from someone who loves what they do that it provides a new perspective on the flavors and enjoyment of food and wine. We will be back for sure. Notable favorite dishes were the beef tartar and roasted cauliflower - wine favorite was from the Musar collection. Leave well fed and in love with all five senses.

I've wanted to eat at this restaurant for quite a while. It's gotten rave reviews and the ambiance sounded so homey. I think the reason why I'm a little lukewarm is the menu seemed a little bleak. I admire the organic, farm to table concept and how meticulously the food is sourced but at the end of the day, I can't really get excited about broth. One of us had the greens and they would have been delicious but were way oversalted. I had the chicken liver spread and it was excellent. Verdict: a mixed bag but still a pleasant experience.

The broth + bone marrow were delicious but the food overall was overpriced/ uninventive. I love the idea of the restaurant (sustainable, grass-fed, etc.) but the execution was lacking. The greens were over salted and the rest of the vegetables were nothing special and came in very small portions for the pricing. The waitstaff was inattentive an enthused about selling the story of the food. Unfortunately I'd recommend grabbing some broth to go from the window next door and moving on.

The service was very good- especially the Manager who seated us. The food on the other hand was not good at all. I ordered the steak ( callled it a minute steak - which I asked to clarify it was a thin cut sirlion). It was terrible, not only tiny but also tough and not flavorful ( over peppered )

I used to love hearth, but will not likely return. (I didn't want to complain as I didn't want to get in a discussion w anyone about it - was on one of the few date nights w the wife since our kid)...

this was my second time coming to hearth. last time i went was in may of this year so they changed the menu since the last time i went but everything was still on point. we had the tasting menu with the beverage pairing. 80/person for the tasing menu and another 50/person for the pairings but you get enough to drink to the point that you’re essentially paying for what you get. started off with a shot of carrot soup with lemon yogurt. moved on to sardines, beet salad, and a melon salad. next course featured house made potato gnocchi and mac n cheese. followed by some minute steak, cod, polenta, and greens in red wine. finally dessert was a chocolate pudding with. everything was so delicious and the pairings were perfect. the service was good. we went during the rush so i can get loud but you’ll still enjoy the dinner and the ambiance. can’t wait to go back

Second time at Hearth. Last time was probably 4 years ago. Menu has changed and I really like it. Service was decent but a bit rushed. Food was outstanding. Came out very quickly. Was a busy Friday night so I try to overlook the rush. Could barely hear each other talk. The food was amazing though. Will definitely try again.

I have been to Hearth a number of times. They never disappoint, my friend just went through Sommelier school in Paris and was impressed by the wine selection, impressed by the food and the service. I will continue to use Hearth as one of my go-to dining experiences for bringing company from out-of-town.

This was our first time to the restaurant. We had the tasting menu with wine. The bread and brodo and gnocci's were worthy of the raves they receive. Everything was really good, including the wine selections. The only disappointment is that the steak is supposed to be great, but it's overly salted so much so that you don't really want to eat the whole. Since one of the themes of this restaurant concept is to let the natural ingredients do the talking that over-doing on the condiments was a surprise.

We arrived early for a 9:00 dinner reservation. We sat at the bar for a bit and watched the East Village go by - always fun. We were seated at a comfortable table and ordered from the wine list and had a wonderful French chardonnay. We three ordered the whole fish of the day - black bass - which was served and presented dramatically whole and filleted. We ordered three of the small plates to go with the fish, all were terrific. Then we shared three great desserts - the donuts are all they promise to be and more - don't miss them! Our server Kevin was professional and warm and made for a wonderful evening. We love Hearth!
