It was a great dinner. The waiter was patient, knowledgeable and engaging. The food was interesting and unique. The wines were also well curated and tasty. We were both impressed with this relatively hidden gem on the corner 12th st and 1st Ave.
Very disappointed in this place. Food, cocktails and service were subpar at best and expensive. The dishes we ordered were all basic but not good. We had the garlic bread, charred snap peas, whole grain maccheroni, roasted half spatchcock chicken and beef & ricotta meatballs. The meatballs came 3 for $24, dry and flavorless. Ridiculous, and they didn’t even come with a piece of bread. The cocktails tasted like liquor was missing, was more of a mocktail. When we mentioned to waiter, he brought an additional shot for each drink and charged us for it. After all this, the service was atrocious and appalling. The server basically ignored us the entire time. Trust me, don’t waste your money on this place, there are plenty of good restaurants in Manhattan that deserve your business and this is not one of them. Shame on Hearth!
Consistently one of the best dining experiences in the city! Staff is knowledgeable about everything on the menu and wine list. Perfect atmosphere for any occasion!
Food, libations, wine and service were as always delicious and impeccable. Only challenge is the noise level. When spending that much for dinner I wish to be able to have conversation with those at the table without shouting. The new school in restaurant design should change this pandemonium design and opt for a more enjoyable experience.
2 of us had the same pasta dish and both of us were disappointed. We both found it too heavy for a summer dish. I only ate a 3rd of mine. Also, U always combine incredible favors & textures, that was not true with this dish.
The only other time I was not happy w/ Hearth was my Thanksgiving take out.
Every bit as fresh and vibrant as always, with excellent wine pairings suggested by the wonderful, friendly, attentive staff.
food and service were amazing. that's espresso martini, oh boy!
nice place, food and wine only OK. Was disappointed overall
Excellent! We came as a family and had the best time. From the appetizers to the main meals, we just loved it!
The pasta dishes were exquisite and the meatballs to die for. Thank you to our waiter who was amazing!
Overall wonderful experience! The food is outstanding, fresh, seasonal, delicious. Excellent service with personal attention.
Hearth was delicious. The food was great. It was tasty and interesting with high quality ingredients.
We went for a graduation/birthday brunch (party of 8) and as expected the food did not disappoint. We ordered sourdough for the table which came with delicious grass-fed butter on the side. Service was pleasurable and attentive. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, the ciabatta was probably a day old (I wish I ordered it toasted). Others in the group ordered the lamb ragu which was great and the eggs with bacon were very delicious. We always admire Hearth because they care about their food and everything tastes fresh and well made!
We had an awesome server, she gave us great recommendations on drinks and menu items. I dined at Hearth several times pre-pandemic, and I am truly grateful this restaurant is still around. You will enjoy your experience for sure, and I am glad I came back!
I love hearth. It’s my favorite go to for brunch for years now.
Hearth is our favorite restaurant. Great food, great service, comfortable atmosphere. Really the perfect spot.
We had a great time at Hearth . Food was great and the service was outstanding. Jefferson, our waiter, made us feel very comfortable and treated us like family. Can’t wait to return. Thanks to everyone for a great night out
The Variety Burger is just amazing! Charred snap peas delicious.
As always the food and drinks were delicious. Menu very satisfying; not dull. Many spring ingredients. Our server made us comfortable with a heat lamp next to table outside. Great reunion of dear friends.
always excellent. never had a bad meal here and it has been my regular spot in the neighborhood for many years.
Food was delish. Want to go again.
Fresh, healthy food, innovative flavor combinations, excellent wine selection, wonderful service! Thank you, we had a lovely evening!
Absolutely love Hearth. Full stop. It’s the best.
Absolute great food. Always a delight to dine here.
Food is very good. The space is a little shabby. This place has been around since 2003 and needs some sprucing up!
Though the brunch menu options were limited, the food was delicious and the service was amazing.
Great customer service from our call to check on the reservation to thoughtful and responsive service to advice on our wine selection. The menu has comfortable choices with unique twists. And share the olive oil cake—outstanding!
It is hard to over-recommend Hearth. Its non-showy excellence in every respect never fails. Outstanding in every respect.
This was the 2nd week in a row I went to Hearth. Take my out of town guests there because I know they will enjoy the experience
Always love the food, fabulous service!
I trust that Hearth is recovering from Covid just as the rest of us are. It used to be a very good restaurant: food, wine, ambiance, service-- all great. Now it is having trouble coming back to its old self: the appetizer was very good, the pasta course was mediocre.
The wine was okay, and the service was slow.
Hands down the best restaurant experience in the East Village.
We went for bunch. I'm a huge fan of Marco Canora and Brodo so was excited to try it. The food at Hearth was delicious, as were the drinks, even though the brunch menu is kind of limited. Something was going on that day I think, as our food took forever to arrive--even though there were very few tables when we went. The outdoor setup is fine for warm weather, but not if it's cold.
Great food. Not too fussy cocktails. Laid back spot. Great for a family meal, girls night out, or an intimate date night.
Dining at Hearth is always a pleasure--wonderful food (spring lettuce salad, roast cod with nettles and potatoes, a great ricotta cheesecake), great cocktails and wine list, and wonderful service. I've never had a meal here that wasn't exceptional--the best restaurant in the East Village and one of the best in the city.
Last Sunday evening, there was an extremely loud large group celebrating a birthday seated nearby--in fact, they were so boisterous, we could barely hear ourselves talk. They should have been placed in a separate area or even outdoors; it's not as if they rented out the entire space. Their presence was inconsiderate and disruptive to other guests, and your management missed the mark by not moving them elsewhere, or at least asking them to lower the volume. The food itself was excellent and the service gracious, but Hearth does not seem like the kind of establishment to cater to such a boorish group of individuals. Their presence ruined the experience for everyone. l
Hearth still delivers with an inventive but still homey menu. The specialty cocktails were great, and I’m still thinking about the dark chocolate pudding!
nice outdoor spot for lunch and dinner with well prepared food and great wine selection.
