Very quaint restaurant and the service was outstanding.
Food choices were very limited, but what we ordered was delicious.
Hearth's Thanksgiving dinner is beautiful. The food is unreal and the staff is incredibly warm. The whole place feels joyful and full of love. We loved every bite. A very memorable Thanksgiving!
Our family of 13 enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner at Hearth. The portions were just right and
the food absolutely delicious! The Butternut Squash Soup was superb as were the turkey, dressing, potatoes
and fresh tasting green salad. The thick, toasted brown bread was great. Desserts.....Pumpkin Panna Cotta and Apple Crisp were delightful. The service was wonderful, too. They obviously take great pride in both
their food and their service.
Dining at Hearth during the Holidays is a must. We had our Thanksgiving celebration at Hearth for a party of 7 and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent but most importantly the service was outstanding.
We had not been to Hearth for years, but we were happy to see that it has evolved nicely over time. We opted for the tasting menu, which was fantastic. My wife is gluten intolerant, but they were easily able to adapt the menu to accommodate (much of it is gluten-free anyway). I was most impressed by the use of local vegetables, including ones that I probably wouldn't normally order on my own (radishes, chicory, etc.) but were prepared so beautifully that we cleared every plate. The meatballs and fish were also great, but it was refreshing to have a tasting menu that was significantly plant-based, for a meal that felt a bit more ethical and healthy but was no less delicious for it. The homemade popsicles were a great sweet treat to finish the meal. Great selection of coctkails, beers and wines by the glass too.
Once again a lovely dinner at Hearth. Table was ready even tho we arrived 1/2 hour early. Great dinner menu. The only disappointment was there was only one whole fish of the day remaining and we were not made aware of that issue until well into our discussion with our server regarding different dishes to order. Had we known immediately we would have placed our order then. Unfortunately. By the time we were made aware of the scarcity the black bass was already gone. We will remember to ask about availability as soon as we are seated !!
Otherwise. A great Sunday evening !!!
The food was great but everything was under seasoned. Our server seemed to rush us through our entire dinner. He was condescending, rude, and made it apparent he cared more about the other tables in his section.
Always great. Wonderful food, attentive service. Very glad they added the grain bowl back to the brunch menu. Hearth consistently remains a neighborhood gem.
several years since i was here and better than before
Such a fun night at hearth! We did the tasting menu for the table which was a fabulous experience. Absolutely loved every dish - and the cocktails were great too!
First time dining at Hearth for me and my husband . Perfect place for a romantic date night sans baby. The food was out of this world - and the decor and service were sublime . Cozy and romantic . Try the Chef’s choice tasting menu - it includes dessert and amuse Bouche. We loved everything and thought it was a good deal as well.
Excellent menu suggestions for our table. The parsnip cake with a birthday candle was a nice touch! Very enjoyable.
Loved the vibe as soon as we walked in. Happy to see us and very attentive service. The service was only surpassed by the high quality food. Different but delicious. Cannot go wrong with this choice!
The Venison Meatballs were excellent, as was the service. The first serving of grass fed NY Strip was too salty. However, our excellent server, Laura, took care of it and replaced it.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It's somehow perfect for both dates and big group outings. Can't recommend it enough!
Brunch food was quite good, much better than recent dinner experiences there. Very pleasant though the noise level was fairly high.
Consistently wonderful. The menu can be a bit tricky to navigate, as the preparations are described mostly by ingredients, but they are all delicious and carefully presented. There's no wrong selection. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff. Trust them.
The wonderful Service here always makes a great experience
I’ve been going to Hearth since it opened in 2003. My recent visit was very disappointing. The menu was very limited and few dishes appealed to me. As a main, I ordered Maccheroni ragu. The meat was dry and the dish was overpowered by sage. And they didn’t even have the cider donuts for dessert. They were the main reason I came!
Fantastic food, in a relaxing atmosphere with great service.
I think Hearth is the perfect comfort restaurant. The food is always good and the service has always been great.
Excellent well thought out selection of offerings.
Tricky menu from an ordering point of view. Easy to under order, but prices lead you to believe that amounts will be sufficient i.e, pricey. Some dishes enough for a single person entreé( pasta, steak) others more like appetizers. The menu is best for groups willing to share all dishes on the table, otherwise some will leave hungry, others almost full. Noise level at peak hours( we started at 7 and left by 9) was loud enough to prevent an enjoyable conversation by the time we left. “Energetic” is a euphemism. Deafening is more like it.
I had a delicious dinner at Hearth. I needed a quiet place to have a real discussion and this fulfilled that requirement 100%. Best of all the food was so good. The first plate to come was a dinner plate sized slice of garlic bread. Incredible. But so was the pasta with pork rags. The salads were unbeatable: a strong chicory and a sliced radish. Yum! I highly recommend!
One of the best meals ever! The staff and Christine were very welcoming.
Fantastic food!! Each dish was absolutely amazing!
Server could have been more knowledgeable/cognizant of dietary restrictions (he served me the amuse bouche with cream in it after explicitly explaining that I was vegan). However, the hostess was wonderful. The food was delicious. The ambiance was so great and cozy. The wine list was extensive with some really good value options.
The services was great. after having the sharing aspect of the menu relayed we were able to choose the appropriate amount to order. The dishes were delicious, atmosphere was casual and we all enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Great meal. Thank you.
This is my favorite restaurant in the East Village. The service is next level, the servers are knowledgeable about wine and provide excellent recommendations to pair with your meal. The food is always high quality, prepared appropriately, honoring the integrity of the ingredients.
I was very disappointed. I took my husband here for a special occasion and wish we walked out and went elsewhere. At 7:30 on a Sat night, they ran out of the fish which we wanted. Meatballs were tasteless. The Gnocci was drowning in salt. When we said something to the waiter, he laughed as said its funny how you are scrapping all the salt off. Literally went to a Halal cart right after walking out to get more food.
The staff is warm and thoughtful. The kitchen is inventive, creating unique dishes that remain comforting. We love this place.
Small menu but the food really wowed and the ambience was enjoyable for a lazy Sunday morning. The kitchen forgot one of our orders and brought the last meal out almost 10 mins after everyone else. The staff went above and beyond to fix the situation with 3 free desserts (possibly the best part of the meal) and they removed the forgotten meal from the bill.
Great food here, they do shared plates so it was a bit of a unique experience. We had the whole fish which was fantastic. Also, had a great wine bottle recommendation. Will definitely be back
This was my first time at Hearth. I had a lovely time with my friend for brunch. The avocado toast for apps and French toast for main course was delicious, I highly recommend. The staff was very attentive, friendly, patient, and accommodating.
Was good, wasn’t wowed, but not disappointed
this is an amazing place and food! we had a party with 11 people and they accommodate us very well.
Been going to Hearth got several years
I cook from Marco’s book
Fresh & minimal
We love Hearth. Lovely people in staff and they’re super sweet about accommodating food preferences. Yummy chicken liver for the meat eaters and they altered dishes for our vegan. Perfectly lovely waiter, and we love the bartender who invents drinks to suit your fancy.
Incredible food. The meatballs are a little overrated but I would 100% go back. The service is incredible, you feel like you’re being invited into someone’s home to enjoy a meal whipped up with whatever the cook found at the Farmers’ Market that morning. Blue Hill, eat your hearth out!
