Don't let the casual set up at the back of the market fool you. The food, service and creative, beautiful presentation is something you would expect to find in much more expensive venues. Every single dish is as much a feast for the eyes as it is the pallet. My fiancé and I had the yellow fin ceviche and the braised rabbit, we couldn't decide which was better. Our server was exceptional too.
This is our faVorite restaurant in the wine country. The food is exquisite and despite earlier problems with staffing and overbooking, the restaurant seems to have reached the milestone of having organized its operation beautifully. Farm to table - the freshest of any restaurant in the area with the sdspecial additions of some foods you have never heard of before for flavor and the edible flowers are the sweetest touch.
Outstanding! This was one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere. The service was great and the food was amazing. The dishes were creative and absolutely delicious. We started with the pickled herring on "toast". The herring was great but the "toast" was a spectacular thick slice of toasted homemade bread. The duck was tender and perfectly seasoned. The vegetarian dish was unique and delicious. Highest recommendation.
Incredible dining experience at Shed. Excellent carrot soup, pizza, and exceptional cod dish. Straight from the garden to your plate. The best!
Simply some of the best farm to table creative food in all Sonoma County. Prepare to be surprised and come with an open mind and curious filterless appetite.
Very fresh ingredients and well executed dishes. Not your fancy restaurant, more like a fancy picnic! The garden salad tasted like the greens were just picked and the cod brandade was fabulous. Always fun to shop right on the spot!
The food here is very fresh and locally sourced. They have wine on tap by the glass. They have a lot of interesting fermented drinks as well.
One of the finest meals we've ever had. Surprising, unexpected, delectable flavor combinations, preparation, presentation. Can't say enough good things about the experience. Wish we didn't live 1500 miles away. I'd go there often!
This place is more known for the cute shop in front & their cafe for lunch. We went there for dinner & were SO impressed. The food, ambience & service were all incredible. Overall amazing experience. We even went back the next day for lunch!
The food and service were wonderful. The friendliest and most helpful wait service and the food delicious , fresh, and organic
We ordered the oysters on the half shell at $3.50 each. They were the smallest oysters I have ever seen but tasty. We also had the chilled avocado soup. The portion was good but there were unidentifiable things swimming in it which were a bit off-putting textures. Our main was the swiss chard pizza. The flavor balance was off for me. Not enough acid. Never the less, it was very popular so maybe it was just me.
My friends and I had an excellent experience at dinner and wish we had had enough time to return for more meals during our short trip. Every dish surprised us with beautiful presentation, delicious ingredients and great creativity. Portions were very large and more than enough for the three of us to share. The house salad was composed of an array of greens and other healthy touches and it was just gorgeous. We loved the marinated herring in sour cream and onions, the beet salad which was arranged in a unique way, the main dish of spaetzle with burrata and squash blossoms. The bread was to die for, especially with the whipped butter. Great experience.
Wonderful experience- we enjoyed the tasting menu - the chef's choices were all things we would never have selected, and all were scrumptious. It was a food adventure! Loved that they picked their herbs from the plant in the SHED.
Daughter’s birthday and graduation from Berkeley graduate school MPP.
Perry Hoffman, former chef at Etoile (Domain Chandon) had earned a Michelin Star back then . . . and is now working his magic at Shed - everything we had was phenomenal. Rather than go on and on, take a look at these photos . . . as they speak a million words . . . .
We had an exceptional dinner once again at SHED! This time we opted for the prix fixed menu when the chef designs what they would like to prepare for you, creating from what is freshest in their kitchen. The food was fantastic - full of amazing flavors with unusual ingredient combinations. Can’t wait to try this again !
Hands-down my favorite place in Healdsburg, day or night.
The food is so delicious and fresh with thoughtful combinations which make eating fun. Ambiance is lovely and simple. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
A little different but great food and very good service. Plates are best shared and each one is packed with herbs, vegetable and tons of flavor.
Fabulous creative dishes and great wait staff. We will be returning many times.
Excellent local creative food. You can tell they put thought into the menu. Everything was great
Perfect. Sophisticated flavors perfectly executed in a casual setting.
By far the poorest service we’ve had in our multiple visits in the past couple years.
Food was innovative and delightful pending the dish! The items I thought were delicious, fresh and flavorful were, house made bread, proscuitto pizza, smoked sturgeon, & charoon gratin. Items a bit too subtle in flavor for me were the SHED salad (maybe more dressing?), cod, and duck breast. Service at the host stand was outstanding, server was very good but busy missing pre-set silverware to eat with at times. Overall a very enjoyable birthday dinner w/my family! Thank you!
We eat at the Shed monthly and are always impressed with the quality of the food, the superior service and the inventive dishes. For true farm-to-table, the Shed is unsurpassed.
Fresh, delicious food (though they ran out of asparagus soup at 7 pm). Great for vegetarians.
Great, simple food. Perfect for weeknight date.
The food was fabulous. The server, Edward, was super.
Best place in sonoma county. Wonderful wild greens used creatively. Nettle pestos. Not a ton of vegan options, though decent vegetarian options. Wonderful fermented drinks and vegan options in the little pre made bar. Epic breads. Everthing the discerning palate could desire.
Our meal consisted of fresh local ingredients at their peak, truly farm-to-table. In fact, the simple green salad was a medley of delicate greens and herbs from the garden complemented with the sweet tang of citrus. The very creative menu included items not commonly offered. We took the advice of our server and chose a variety of menu options that everyone could share. The ricotta balls are a must; the sweetbreads were outstanding, perfectly cooked and tender; the best I've ever eaten! The pork was "melt in your mouth." All-in-all, a fabulous dinner.
Our second time here! Love it! Worth the drive from Roseville, CA. Coming back!! 😃
A return visit that never disappoints. Local fare that is seasonal, organic, creative and delicious indeed. Do heed the server's recommendations and don't shy away from offerings that might be unfamiliar to you. At our most recent opportunity my family and I were treated to a unique dish that included perfectly cooked pork cheeks and another offering an exquisite addition of bottarga. Of course take advantage of the numerous perfectly paired wines for your treasured dishes too. Moreover, even before you dine come a little early to this casually elegant venue and take in the variety of wares for sale and prepared foods on display. A treat in itself.
Interesting and diverse food offerings. Attentive staff. A bit surprised that they ran out of champagne early in the evening. Would recommend.
Gorgeous, tasty and creative food. Vegetable focused and while the portion sizes are generous, the overall impression is one of lightness. The space is really fun too, very open and bright, and I enjoyed wandering around the store while we waited for our food. I was sorely tempted by the house-made smoked fish and charcuterie items, but I went with the beet salad (delicious) and the winter citrus dish (which was extremely well balanced without being overly sweet or sour). The bread was very good , and one of my dining companions loved the grassy flavorful olive oil served with it. I preferred the creamy whipped butter but both were good. The only failure was the Black Cod. It arrived in a cloud of off-putting fishy smell, which I think was due either to the clams or the searing of the fish skin. Whatever it was, it made the dish smell spoiled and that wasn't very appetizing. The service was also a little lacking. Our server didn't seem to read our table very well, so we were either ignored or checked on too often. He didn't explain about the menu and I found out only after we'd ordered that the first half of menu was composed of items intended to be shared. That would have been helpful to know before we ordered too much food! Oh well. At least it was good (all except the fish). Good value for the quality of ingredients and beautiful plating too.
When we were looking up places to go in the Sonoma area Healdsburg kept popping up & anytime we saw Healdsburg we saw "You have to go to the SHED." So, to be fair, I had really high expectations. I did like this place, but I almost wish we hadn't had a reservation for regular seating & instead had gotten sandwiches from the deli area. The food was good, but different. The drinks were great & everyone was very friendly. Super cute place with lots of natural light.
Healdsburg Shed was absolutely wonderful! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. So many herbs, lots of citrus, flowers... It all felt very healthy and was incredibly delicious. The service was on point and the atmosphere was casual and stylishly simple. And the music was not too loud, which is rare these days -- we could actually have a conversation! If we lived closer, we'd come here all the time. Best discovery in a long time. Really loved it.
We love going to The Shed for the best coffee drinks in town with delicious baked goods in the morning or for innovative fresh lunches and dinners. The food is always artistry in motion from watching the chefs prepare each dish to receiving your meal. Each menu option is a perfect one as the menu is perfection. We enjoyed the Fish Crudo Plate, Shed Salad, Roasted Duck Leg and Pork Shoulder. For dessert we split the chai ice cream. We love their wine list and their in house drinks. It is our go to for a relaxed date night with fresh, delicious food and you know it will all be amazing.
Great atmosphere and tasty food!
The food was fresh and delicious . The salad dressing was a little bit sour, but it was edible. Overall, we love the experience! It was fast and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!
We had been to the Shed on several occasions to browse and shop but never to dine in, and we loved every morsel of it! Wonderful, wonderful dinner.
Excellent restaurant with fresh, local ingredients. Creative menu with healthy choices. Highly recommended!
