   The sleigh ride was incredible. The views of the town lit up at night made us feel like we were stepping into a Currier and Ives painting. The drivers were professional and accommodating. The bartender was legit. I put his old fashioned cocktail up against any that I’ve had in any big city whiskey bar. Finally, the food was great. I was not expecting great food, but it was incredible. I had the short rib with mushrooms and whipped potatoes and others had the bone in pork chop. This entire experience is a must-do in winter and is the best value in Steamboat Springs.

   When I booked this dinner reservation, there was no mention of a prix-fixe menu on Haymakers website. Once seated we were handed 4 course menus. $125 for adults and $60 for children. My children were served Kraft Mac 'n Cheese and canned mandarins with icy vanilla sundaes for dessert. The adult menu was fine but far from fine dining. The Short Rib was tough and the Salmon unexceptional in flavor. The dessert of chocolate mousse was similar to pudding from a box. You get the point, I hope! If you are booking simply for the experience of the horse sleigh ride, don't waste your money. Although it's a lovely scenic 20 minutes on the sleigh and the pictures are memorable, it's simply not worth the money.

   From the time we arrived until we departed, the service was 5 stars! We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the special Full Moon Snowshoe/Cross Country ski/Fat Tire Bike Fondue dinner at Haymaker. My husband & I had a blast with the Fat Tire rental bikes. The staff provided us with a proper bike fitting, map of the Haymaker bike trails, and away we went soaking up the beauty of the Yampa Valley. After building up an appetite, we enjoyed a wonderful two course fondue dinner in the club house. Tender steak & chicken, cured meat with vegetables were accompanied by a beer cheese fondue. Chocolate fondue with fruit, brownies & marshmallows perfectly finished our night. I hear the Sleigh Ride dinners offered Thursday-Sunday are a “not to miss” evening as well! Schedule your reservation at Haymaker. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to all who took such good care of us!

   A must do at Steamboat. Go early for the sunset; later for the stars. Lots of fun, even for adults. Sleigh driver and wrangler so knowledgable. Great food, drink and service. Abbey is the best!

    The people here are fabulous and the food was good. The sleigh ride was more geared for little kids. It was basically a 20 min ride across a flat open field (golf course) and back. We paid $125 each for four adults and wouldn’t do it again now that we know what it is.

    Awesome experience, everyone from the time we walked through the doors were very attentive, great service, great food!. Absolutely loved every minute. And we had a toddler & infant, kept them busy so we could enjoy 🥰

    The sleigh ride and guides were awesome, along with the shuttle driver Jeff but that was the best part. The food was fine however incredibly overpriced for what it was. The pork chop was the best dish; dessert was not good at all. Even at “resort” prices it should’ve been half as expensive. I was also charged for ICE… while not expensive, just insane. And they added a tip to our party (due to size which is fine) but then that tip is taxed!!!! Costing me more money and not them. $60 for child’s dinner and $45 for toddlers is laughable. While we enjoyed the sleigh ride, I’d never go back here again due to the extreme lack of value.

    It took at least 20 minutes to get 2 bottles of wine that we ordered. The fondue was served in a small bowl without fondue forks and was difficult to pass and share. We asked for more of the cheese fondue and dippers and received very few additional dippers. I asked specifically for more pretzel bites and was told that they might be out of them. While the cheese and chocolate fondues were tasty, the amount of the cheese fondue and dippers was inadequate and the service was poor.

    Riding on a 2-horse open sleigh through a golf course in the heart of Colorado with Steamboat as a backdrop was lovely. Should have left it there. After the ride, we were escorted into the Golf Club dining room, filled with beautiful solid wood tables and chairs. Somehow, though only at half seating capacity, the staff decided to seat us at a long folding table with tablecloth and convention-style chairs - the only such option in the room. As for the meal, the fondue was disappointing, basically a veggie plate with a bowl of cheese dip. We didn't get a chocolate option. The soup / salad were the best part of the meal. The soup was delicious and my wife loved her salad. However the entrees were lackluster. I had the pork chop, which the waiter hailed as their best menu item and was average at best. I rarely write reviews but the lack of transparency about the cost makes me compelled to let diners know that the kids meals were $60 for mac and cheese and the adult menu meals were $125 each, with tip included, then taxed. I would totally recommend a sleigh ride somewhere in the valley, but you can do better dining in town.

    Super misleading…kids were $45-60 for mandarin oranges and easy mac and a 15 min sleigh ride. Adults were $125 and food was not near worth that. Salad lettuce was soggy. Worst $500 I’ve ever spent. Do not recommend. Not sure how it has any good reviews.

    We dined from the Sleigh Ride Menu. The 4 course meal started with a beer cheese fondue, followed by winter greens salad mix. I enjoyed the lamb with sweet potato mash and winter root vegetables. My 7 year old grandson admitted, "I don't 'like' this hamburger, I LOVE it!" The finishing touch was a pleasant chocolate mousse for myself and ice cream sundae for my grandson. The lamb was medium rare and fairly tender. The gravy was divine. The mash was delightful, the mixed root vegetable side was unpretentious in preparation. That is to say they were served crisp tender with no heavy buttering or sauce to disguise the earthy flavor.

    We had the best time. It was cold on the sleigh, but isn’t this why we came to the snow capped mountains? They had plenty of blankets and it appears the horses are well cared for, which matters to me. The dinner was great! My only thought was some background music was missing. Everyone was so kind and helpful and complimentary shuttle made it easy for us to attend.

    Sleigh ride was quite enjoyable but I was expecting the food to be better especially for the price. The Mac n cheese for kids definitely looked like it came from the box, never seen that from a restaurant before.

    The moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly folks who were ready to serve and answer questions. Everyone was cheerful and took pictures for us of the sleigh ride. Dinner was in courses and delicious.

    Waiter wasn't too attentive . 2 guests didn't like their soup and did not eat it, I would have appreciated them being able to swap it for something different. All of our dishes stayed on the table until we concluded our entrees. The short rib was really good!
