Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with the menu, dishes came with reasonable wait. Large selection of wines but we opted for some cocktails instead. The beef tenderloin was very tasty at medium, and the lamb saddle was tender. The puree garnishes were also paired well with the meats. Some might think the sizes are a bit small with a pricey menu.

Top service and stunning food. Made to feel very welcome from the time we were greeted until we were farewelled. Will definitely dine here again.

Very nice experience, food and atmosphere.

We had scallops to start which were well presented, however only 3, so sharing is not advised.

The sable fish and sturgeon were wonderful.

Overall a nice evening.

I had the Tataki Tuna which was good except the amount of corn pepper on it overwhelmed the overall taste of the dish. My wife had the Sturgeon, which was outstanding.

They do not have a green salad on the menu. We were offered a mixed green salad (which was very good) only after we questioned why there were no salads on the menu.

The chair I was sitting on was "tired' and needs updating.

Good restaurant, however, to stay great, attention to the little things required.

Impeccable service. Attentive but not obtrusive. Very knowledgeable sommeliers. Delicious food: wife and I ate (1) tuna tartare special, (2) foies gras parfait, (3) tagliatelle with chicken veloute and shaved white truffle, (4) seabass

Prices were too high, and service was mediocre given the price tag. The food was beautifully presented and quite tasty but I have had better gastronomic experiences in this price range . The waitstaff rushed through the explanations of the food so we couldn't process much of what was described. I expected more - something needs to give -- either the prices or the offering including service.

Overrated brunch menu. Coffee was 6$ . My French toast was dry. “Seasonal” fruit platter had an apple, two slices of pineapple, and some melon- I expect more of a fancy place like this.

Great dishes priced accordingly! Tip for presenting the specials - speak loud & clear, not too fast. Although it wasnt specially noisy, it was hard to understand one of our servers.
Minimal dress requirements used to be in place for good reasons. We didnt get the memo that it was gonna be a casual night so forgot our track pants :) Damn!

We always reserve this restaurant when we come to Vancouver. This restaurant is at the center of downtown, so we can find easily.
This restaurant has really tasty food and drink. Of course they have great service.
I always have breakfast or brunch here so I want to have dinner here next time.

First time in Vancouver, the restaurant was fantastic, excellent service and the food is over the top-end of Wow, mind-blowing.

Then we had a few drinks at the bar, very nice indeed. I thought I would have a shot of the Richard. But the price said $1600, a shot. True Story!!

Cramped tables; noisy environment; food order (with meat) served raw without prior advice by server; very overpriced water - must have been shipped from the Arctic.
Atypical 5-star hotel dining experience.

after hearing people rave about hawksworth for ages we finally decided to give it a try. It was good but didn't quite live up to my expectations. The food tasted really good but I didn't find it exceptionally creative and our entrees were served warm rather than hot. The service was good but nowhere near excellent and at that price point I'm expecting excellent. I enjoyed the meal on the whole but just didn't find it was quite worth the money.

Please don’t go to this restaurant if you feel like you need to alter their menu. Made reservations on Christmas evening, when into the restaurant was planning on ordering two appetizers for my husband and a main for him , I wanted the tasting menu along with the special fried rice appetizer. Was told the kitchen would not accommodate our menu choices. Wound up ordering something it was OK the chef there needs to check himself you need to be open with your menu selections people who want to eat your food and are willing to pay for it you should serve them whatever they want.

We went for Christmas dinner. Everybody loved everything that we ate. Nothing was left on the plate other than some potatoes which weren’t cooked quite enough. Otherwise I would’ve given them a five star in food. It’s too bad you can’t give 4.75 stars. The wine fellow was fabulous. The waiter was great too. She really knew her stuff.

Very disappointing. Coffee cup was dirty, had to exchange it. My husband’s milk had turned so had to be replaced. Bacon was greasy and had to be recrisped. Eggs over medium were hard, no yolk what so ever. My husband asked for a side of sausages but should have been told the sausages were very large, not a real concern but would have been nice to know. Service was mediocre. Hard to catch server’s eye. Also Hostess was absent from podium for a long time meaning we had a 5 minute wait to check in. Line grew long while we waited. Same when we left, hostess was not around to get our coats. Another wait while looking for the hostess. Hostess was apparently setting tables etc. As I say disappointing for what was supposed to be a nice breakfast in supposedly a nice restaurant. Would not go back for breakfast.

The meal was uninspiring. I had the beef cheeks with roesti (a Swiss raw grated potato dish) and cubed carrots and celeriac. The beef was greasy and stringy, the roesti was most likely deep fried in small cubes, the carrot cubes were not chewable because they were nearly raw (cut from a large carrot) and the celeriac was tasteless. All in all, I could have done better at home. Even an ordinary cook just graduated from the Vancouver Community College would not have done worse.

Severely overpriced but I guess that comes with the territory. We had brunch. $7.75 for a small glass if orange juice is a joke. Rawish potatoes weren't very nice. Would have preferred tater tots or something.

Of course the food is among the best I've ever had, but the service was somewhat disappointing. We were seated 20 minutes past our reservation, and things like retrieving your coat at the end of the night was laboursome. There were certainly far more reasons to love the place but I just expected the gaps to be better attended to for a place of this caliber.

Hawksworth is an outstanding restaurant. We have been going several times a year since they opened. This is always an event for us and we spend a lot of money here. Outstanding and creative food, great wine list and well orchestrated service. But it seems every time we come here we get less than acceptable attention from the hostess(es). A restaurant of this calibre should never let the very first contact with a customer be an unpleasant one.
