Incredible service, great tasting menu, beautiful ambience- definitely an adventure for the palate. The perfect date night vibe when visiting from Victoria.
Have eaten over the last year or so here for brunch, lunch and dinner. Always excellent food, service and ambience. Consistently the best in Vancouver.
Hawksworth Restaurant is a famous award winning restaurant that I want to try as a foodie. Ambience and decor are upscale, service is attentive and courteous. Our serve Alex is great and gives us good suggestions on menu to where to go nearby after the brunch as a tourist. Food is fresh, delicious and in good value as a fine dining restaurant. Highly recommended as a memorable culinary experience in Vancouver!
The burger was very bland
Unique menu. Exquisite food. Outstanding wine selection
Tuesday noon, for lunch: the room was bright and tasteful, and nearly empty (a pleasant surprise in busy downtown). We generally enjoyed our experience - though, for the price, we did have a few reservations. Our server was very professional, but (whether this is restaurant policy or by his own omission) made no mention of a charge for the water he offered and then replaced a second time, unasked for and left untouched as it was at the end of our meal. A handy $6 added to the bill, unawares (not a fortune, but a rather distasteful surprise - especially for still water, seemingly from the tap as it is in their own refillable bottles.) We avoided a similar charge for bread as I had noticed its price on the menu before it was offered, again without any suggestion of it being anything but complimentary. I'm sure some would argue that if you have to ask the price, you have no place dining in a place like this; my point is only that the offers made by our server at no time suggested an associated cost for them. Perhaps that could be remedied by a quick change in the language used ('would you like to *order* some bread' as opposed to 'would you like some bread' would be a simple solution. But there is really no excuse for charging $3 for tap water - that is just gauging for gauging sake. Vancouver is not Europe.) The menu read well and there were many intriguing choices available for the omnivorous. Vegetarian options were very limited, though they can accommodate if you call ahead to let them know. (The brunch menu had more options, and they have just started a new vegan tasting menu for dinner that looks incredible.) Food was good, but not really exceptional; the highlight being the herb gnocchi dish that showed real creativity and the elevated technique which one might expect at this price point. The 'zero-proof' mocktails on the lunch menu were also fantastic. Overall, they seemed to be coasting on their reputation - which they did not live up to in our experience.
Great food authentic
Our favorite place in Vancouver. Delicious food, great wine and the staff makes you feel like you're the only one in the room. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable Tasting Menu and wine pairings. We will be back :-)
I went here for brunch and unfortunately the food was really subpar. Really disappointed as have been looking forward to this place for a while and likely wouldn’t go back.
Always a good experience. Lovely staff.
really bad server, not because restaurant busy, server attend the table next to us at least triple times than our table, every drink order we need ask him twice. At beginning we wanna order appetizer and drink first, the server said we are so busy, I have no time take order twice, when you guys decide the main, you could order together. Because we barely did not get any service, only thing he did is bring dishes. No asking, always forgot the drink order, even pepper we ask twice, the table next to us, the server could be around with them. So we left under avg tips, before we go out of restaurant, server stop girls ask: “ i guess your friend (the guy who pay the bill) does not speak English, he does not leave any tips”...... but we do left tips! Total 3 people, $307, he give $320. I have no idea why Hawksworth has this kind of server, and he dare stop custom to ask tips????
Excellent food. Great service, from all the people who attended to our needs. Our server Bertrand, had exactly the right touch of familiarity and professionalism. The sommelier displayed a great knowledge of his wine: it was very interesting to listen to him explain his recommendations. even the young women describing our plate was clear and specific. I don't really know the purpose of her job but hey! I guess it looks chic. Our plats were beautiful and very tasty. As appetizers we took "foie gras poêlé", pan roasted scallop and pork belly. All three dishes were excellent but the pork belly was particularly savory. Mains ( the lobster tail, and chicken) were fabulous as well. I really enjoyed the barley and King Oyster mushrooms with the sablefish, and while the fish was cooked to perfection, it was too salty for my taste. Rather disappointing when it is supposed to be the center of the plate. Overall, a great evening. Thank you.
The staff were attentive but not overwhelming. Just right! And the food was delicious (of course), and creative; very well-balanced.
Birthday dinner
Wonderful
One of the best deserts in my life!
Los platillos no son extraordinarios, pero la preparación y el sabor es sublime, sin duda regresaría, el pato y el cordero lo mejor!!
Fantastic evening at Hawksworth restaurant. The cocktails are some of the best in the city, every dish we ordered was incredible. It was an expensive evening but it was well worth it for a special occasion.
We went to Hawksworth to celebrate a milestone birthday and it was an absolute delight! The food was delicious. The service was top notch. The birthday girl was treated to some amazing macarons compliments of the restaurant. It was a fun afternoon! We will definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for an amazing meal or celebrating a special occasion.
Probably my expectations was high, but the dinner was quite disappunting. The dishes was just good, the service sufficient and the table very little and in bad position. The bill too high for the value.
Our server Patrick was articulate, attentive, gracious and an absolute delight! He made us feel very welcome and took the time to provide information and explanation when we requested it. Our Sommelier chose our wines expertly and were a perfect match to our dishes, this was in my opinion was an immeasurable value. The entire staff were extremely professional and kind, they all went above and beyond.
We were celebrating an 85th Birthday. This was a perfect venue for any great evening out or celebration.
We will be back shortly to celebrate our next family milestones, Thank you to all the staff at Hawksworth.
Best service my husband and I have ever had... hands down!
We had the tasting meal and it was delicious. Loved how the chefs made the potato gratin and enjoyed learning how they made it.
For the first time service was not great , but food was nice as usual..
Amazing flavours and flavour combinations. The service was also phenomenal... next time I am in Vancouver I am definitely returning
Breakfast was fantastic. The berries and pastries were fresh and good portions.
As usual the food at Hawksworth was fantastic! The service was incredible and overall it just makes me want to go back for more.
Classy excellent all round experience without a single hiccup with the main course
Great birthday lunch
Excellent cuisine, service and environment. Menu selection options appropriate without making the choice difficult. Ideal for business meetings with the ability to talk in groups.
Food was delicious; service was exceptional. Highly recommend for a special occasion treat
Always excellent food. The menu is perhaps a little limited from a choice point of view. However presentation is excellent and the portions just right. Pricey but worth it.
My second visit to Hawksworth, last time had the tasting menu with a group of friends, which was fantastic. This time all 4 of us ordered a la carte. Still excellent food and service including the sommelier who recommended very good wine by the glass for each course. David Hawksworth is one of Canada’s finest chefs.
Wonderful food and fantastic server. Somewhat disappointed to only have the brunch menu available, but the food was superb.
I went with my sister for a birthday supper. The food was very good. Most of it was excellent, the appetizers were fantastic, tuna and squid, the main course was good, but the lobster was ok, a bit over cooked. I thought the staff was very good and the room was well laid out.
The staff and food here is beyond amazing ! The service is on point and always filling your glass ! The fish was so delicious and also the chicken and lobster tale
Stunning service. Hiccup at the start that was 100% redeemed. Above and beyond when it comes with service.
Kind of weird that chef tasting menu doesn't come with some bread.
Hawksworth did not disappoint. I was hoping to have the lobster salad but it was sold out - maybe a good thing though as my second choice was the Sablefish and it was amazing! Will definitely be back!
Beautiful upscale decor and relaxing ambience, servers were very knowledgeable on the menu and we even recieved wine pairings & drink recommendations to compliment our main course. Very diverse & creative menu - will definitely be returning!
I like the ambiance of the restaurant, less the food though...
