My waiter wasn’t too knowledgeable about gluten free. I ordered the ling cod which was delicious. However, the roasted root vegetables were undercooked almost raw. I waited long periods between my salad and main entree and for the check. All in all I would recommend it but I wasn’t impressed.
Perfect food and service. Just the red wine was too cold ;)
Outstanding performance as usual. Great food and excellent service from Patrick.
amazing as always. never disappoint. had their thai red curry, great spice, good portion, rice was nice and fluffy
Lovely and sophisticated dining experience. We were very well taken care of beginning with quiet table, wine choices and service.
Excellent service, delicious food, friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
I have been to Hawksworth a number of times - including a wedding party, and I had enjoyed my experiences there every time until my most recent visit. I must say, I’m extremely disappointed.
To start, our server is under trained... he took my table’s order standing at one single spot (at a round table) shouting across the table asking my guests for their menu selections. Perhaps he didn’t realize, but one of my guests could see his saliva landing on the butter knife and side plate.
I asked for the manager to change our server. He asked me for a reason. I explained to him and he changed our server, our side plates and bread basket immediately. However, the dinning experience did not improve.
To list a few examples, main course was served and few of us were still missing utensils, the sharing plates for a lamb shoulder dish were incorrectly placed at the wrong guests’ seats, we lost our replacement server after our main course and had to flag down random servers to just take a small requests, after meal coffee orders were not followed properly.
To top it off, the table sitting behind us was excessively loud and rude, shouting coarse language across a long table throughout the entire time they were dining at a shared dining room with few order tables.
I only gave my meal a 12% tip as a minimum formality after these unacceptable experiences. The server (our third or fourth server by now) who was responsible for settling my bill, perhaps looked at the amount of the tip I gave, gave me a questionable glare.
My party and I did not receive the level of service nor the quality of a bare minimum fine dinning experience.
I strongly suggest its management look into this without delay. Re-education for certain of the restaurant’s staffs is a dire priority. Nonetheless, the food quality was acceptable.
Perhaps changing its dinning classification from fine dine to casual eatery may be more appropriate.
Spectacular. We have been here before but the current Chef’s Menu is really special and we loved our waiter!
Swanky hotel and nice atmosphere. The service was amazing. For starters we had the octopus and burrata dishes which were amazing. For my main, I had the salmon which was good but not overly interesting. The ice cream dessert was delicious. We really enjoyed ourselves.
We got engaged there, that was awesome. Perfect night
We tried the vegan+vegetarian tasting menu which was really good. The food had lots of flavors and textures.
Service is good. Food not impressive.
Whenever I visit Vancouver for personal or business I make time for Hawksworth. By the end of every meal I want to marry the chef.
Complimentary appetizer was exceptional. Spotted shrimp appetizer very good. Main course of veal tenderloin too rare and un-chewable
The food was enjoyable and, once we actually got to our table, service was fine. I was, however, a little disappointed that our table was not made available until a good 30-45 minutes after the reservation time and that we had to chase up about the table. I believe this was because our table was still being occupied by an earlier group, though I, as the person who made the reservation, was not given any explanation, and it was seemingly only when another member of our party expressed their concern that things got moving again. This took a little of the shine off of our dining experience, as it meant we were dining rather later than some in the party liked.
Apart from that, the service was attentive, and the food enjoyable. The veal and mushrooms was particularly enjoyable, and the Candy Cap ice cream was a delight.
Probably nest restaurant in Vancouver, with nice wine pairing.
Our main courses were excellent - duck, veal and pasta. The scallop appy was good but the cheese appy was only average. Service was professional and friendly
Everything fell short... disappointing...
Great place, top notch service, excellent food plus the wine pairing was perfect. Michelin level it deserves 2 stars.
Food is fantastic. Great service
What an amazing atmosphere to enjoy a first class meal. The staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations and the food was outstanding.
Waiter was extremely attentive and genuine. Other staff really had the balance just right for service. Food was the best that I have had there and it’s always great! Will be back for sure!
Lovely! Excellent all around.
As usual, an amazing meal and wonderful dining experience.
The tasting was the best culinary experience of my life!
Great tasting food and amazing service. The wine expert was extremely knowledgeable and made amazing recommendations based on my desired tastes. The server was super friendly and made us feel great. Only things I would complain about is that no one took my jacket (it sat on my chair with me) or pulled out my chair. My husband and I are pretty picky about restaurants and would definitely recommend this one for date night.
What a wonderful experience...
Hawksworth is a wonderful oasis in the grand old Hotel Georgia. Bright, airy and white with attentive and professional staff.
Easter brunch was unbelievably good with creative ingredients and presentation.
It started with an absolutely superb yogurt parfait - carrot, vanilla yogurt the best parfait we've ever had.
The main course was poached egg smashed avocado, smoked bacon, on toasted hot cross bun that likewise was wonderful and wonderfully presented. The blend of flavors worked perfectly.
We finished off with milk chocolate crémeux cocoa soil, poached pear creatively presented in a small clay pot; fun and tasty.
What a great place. You should go and check it out.
Hawksworth is simply the best foodie experience in the city. This is complemented by knowledge staff that makes you feel welcome and well looked after without hovering. This is my fourth visit to Hawksworth and I’ve always been impressed.
Easter weekend visit to vancouver
Great food. Great service. Easy to park at pacific center and walk across to Hawksworth.
With all the things I had heard about Hawksworth, both from friends and the media, and having had a lovely breakfast there previously, I must admit, I had high expectations. I had been given a gift certificate for a Chef's Tasting menu, and was looking forward to the experience, assuming that this is a way for a chef to showcase his talents and impress people enough to want to return to the restaurant. Needless to say, the choice of dishes (with the exception of the Hamachi salad, this was exceptional) was rather uninspired, and while well prepared, it was frankly pedestrian, and not what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Perhaps I would have had a different experience had I ordered off the menu, but as it was, I left feeling like the chef made zero effort to impress with the "Chefs' Tasting Menu" that was served.
We had a wonderful evening out, the tasting menu was awesome, the dishes were imaginative, tasty and beautifully presented. The waiter was very professional, friendly and attentive. His conversation and little touches ensured we all had memorable evening. The only thing that made it less than perfect was that it got very noisy later in the evening as a number of larger parties filled the room.
The overall experience was great, our server Dylan took great care of us. We ordered the tasting menu which on the whole was too acidic. Every dish had something sour/pickled in it. The whole table agreed that it was too much and made the dishes kind of all taste the same.
Great service, good food! Everything is perfect! Love it
The quality of service at Hawksworth never ceases to amaze. Once again every member of staff wishes my wife a happy birthday which is why we always come back. It’s the little details that matter and Hawksworth is the only restaurant that consistently pays attention to those details. The ambience, food and general disposition of everyone their always makes for a wonderful evening. Beyond this the food is wonderful and makes us wonder why we wait so long between visits. No other restaurant in Vancouver will make you feel as special as Hawksworth and they get it right every single time.
always impeccable service, great food!
Lost a step from what it was. Have eaten here many times. The last two were disappointing. Food and service.
We ordered the tasting menu, one of the dish with suckling pig with raddish and pickles, it was not a suckling pig, it was more like full grown pig and it didn't go well with those tastless pickles. Another dish was the lamb ribs with 5 types of cooking method, it was too fatty and oily. All other dishes was great.
