Open for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch and dinner, the approachable menus reflect seasonality and spontaneity while demonstrating the highly skilled technique and relentless drive for perfection that has become Hawksworth's trademark.
We were a little early for our reservation but the host greeted us, stored our coats, and escorted us to the lounge where we waited for our table to be prepared. From the host, to the lounge bartender, and our server the service at Hawksworth was impeccable! On top of that the food was absolutely amazing!! We ordered Scallops for appetizer, Ling Cod and the feature of the day- White Truffle Tagliatelle. Mmmmmmm. For dessert we had the Candy Cap Ice Cream and Dark Chocolate Chantilly and OMG I died and went to heaven! Hawksworth definitely lived up to their reputation for their top notch service and quality food. It was an amazing experience! Perfect perfect perfect.
i had never been to Hawksworth and had heard so much about the restaurant, the ambiance was what i expected, the food was exceptional and very good. We ended up ordering off the regular menu as I found the dine out menu not that appealing.
Was everything I was looking for from an upscale restaurant. Will definitely be coming back
Phenomenal service and outstanding food. Each meal was a collection of flavors put together artfully and expertly. You do not want to miss this for a special occasion1
Birthday celebration. We all had the tasting menu that was unique, creative and a culinary experience. Each course was explained in detail the wines for each course were well chosen and the delivery of each course was well paced. If it was possible we would give Hawksworth six stars. Great experience, great menu and excellent staff.
Always good for fine dining or something better than your usual good food for value Vancouver food fare. After paying a lot of money for mediocre food in Maui, Hawksworth is worth it.
Enjoyed the amazing food and was excited to get to try a little bit of everything with the dine out menu.
Dining at Hawksworth is a delightful experience. The restaurant is located in the gorgeous old-world Rosewood Hotel Georgia and has an elegant-romantic ambiance. But what truly makes this gem shine is the service (pleasantly attentive but not intrusive) and of course, the food. The octopus appetizer is divine. I did not think I would enjoy more tender, more flavorful octopus than I have had in Lisbon. I was wrong. The octopus dish here sets a new standard. Two days later, I can still taste the flavors. For the main course, my partner had the lobster tail with squash and mushroom agnolotti, ringed by black truffle. Again, the dish and the combination of flavors was superb. I had duck breast with squash, red cabbage, orange purée, lentil, and fig. The duck was quite good (but could have done with a touch more salt to heighten the flavor) and well complimented by the squash and red cabbage. The orange purée was somewhat muted flavor-wise. And the lentils just did not seem to be a good fit. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the dish but wasn’t blown away as I as by the octopus and the lobster. Still, we had an absolutely delightful romantic evening and I look forward to being dazzled the next time.
The dishes are so delicious! The ingredients are fresh. We will come back again.
Eating at Hawkesbury was a treasured experience. My girlfriend and I have been dining in some highly regarded restaurants in New York City and Melbourne (Australia) over the last two months. We are also local to Vancouver (but from Melbourne and NYC) and have to say that this is the best meal we had in the previous two months across the three cities. My girlfriend is vegan (I am not), and they catered towards both our dietary requirements (I am allergic to shellfish) without fuss, and made a genuine effort to indulge us. The wines showcased interesting bottles from abroad (very rare in Vancouver), in particular, the whites from Spain and Portugal were well chosen and matched with each dish perfectly on the tasting menu. Overall this is a must dining experience if you are visiting Vancouver and shows that excellent, passionate people are always the best in this business and if you want to eat the best of what the pacific northwest has to offer.
amazing! thank you for everything - we appreciate it.
-Prohibition was dreadfully slow and the drinks were lousy.
-The main floor lounge was ok for drinks but an order of avocado toast took 20 minutes.
-Wine selection in Hawksworth was poor and way overpriced
-Wine server lacked basic knowledge of Chardonnay wines ie unable to recommend a wine when we requested “buttery” not “oaky”.
-Sommelier knew little more.
-food was not as good as it should be considering reviews
Recommendation : invite better critics or simply pull your socks up. Way up!!!!
5 stars (outstanding) for location and ambiance. 4 stars (very good) for service. 4 stars (very good) for food quality. 2 stars (fair) for pricing.
Don’t go to Hawksworth for Brunch on Sundays; it was disappointing. From the moment I met the hostess, the service and reception from staff was cold and unwelcoming. She was put off with having to seat me having just returned from seating my dining companions who arrived early. Our server was equally cold and not very responsive and at times abrasive when having to answer questions about the menu and address the tables concerns about dietary restrictions. The server kept leaving abruptly whenever he answered a question (this happened 3x) without taking our order. It was odd that it took us so long to order. The restaurant was not busy; the room was barely 30% full. The interiors are beautiful however the background music (electronic pop) did not match the interiors. Everything seemed incongruous with each other. The food was okay and not very good value for the prices and expectations. We would have tried the prix fixe menu however the entire table has to participate which we only found out when we ordered (the print was super fine on the menu but not noted online). Instear we had smoked salmon eggs benny. Tasted ok but was not exceptional. White Spot eggs benny would have been better with friendly service. My dining companions had a sable salad which they enjoyed, and buttermilk pancake which they were disappointed having only one pancake and had to add a sausage and was charged for syrup.
Having had their tasting menu at dinner before and enjoying it, we were expecting a similar or at least at par experience at Brunch. Don’t go for brunch. There are much better options. Perhaps that is why the room was not very busy for brunch.
Expensive but exquisitely worth it.
Visit each year from Australia, fantastic dinning experience, staff & menu excellent
Great value for the best dining experience
I brought my twin daughters here for a birthday lunch, along with an out of town visitor. We had a wonderful meal and were treated very well. Marvellous !
As always, great food and service and good value. Best restaurant experience in Vancouver. Highly recommended.
Spectacular standard of service, and extensive wine list. Highly trained wait staff and sommelier. Formal service without feeling pretentious.
Located in Hotel Georgia, attached to the Forbes Five Star hotel is this outstanding restaurant. There is certainly a reason why it was voted #1 in Vancouver. From greetings to goodbyes, each server was extremely attentive. The food was absolutely phenomenal, special note to our server Bertrain, he was very knowledgeable with the menu and recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Great food, great service
Made a reservation for lunch through OpenTable for January first. But the menu was limited to brunch. Service was impeccable and accommodating. But did not get lunch ... I wish OpenTable would have made it clear about the reservation peculiarity for this date.
Best way to start the New Year - brunch at Hawksworth.
My favorite restaurant in Vancouver; but, this morning, I’m guessing, they had an “off day”.
The food was outstanding, as usual, but service was lacking.
This is one of the very few restaurants where I’ve consistently enjoyed almost impeccable dining experiences. I understand that not every place is always perfect and I’m hoping that I can, once again, enjoy a nearly flawless dining experience the next time I’m here. :-)
Listed some dietary requests in OpenTable while booking but they were ignored/unread when we got there.
Rather expensive for portion size. Special was not very "special", in fact, the crab (the tiny amount that there was) in the benedict tasted off. For a new years day, the experience was not memorable in a positive way.
Worst experience at a “fine” Vancouver restaurant in a long time. As someone who dines out at least 5 times per week, and has frequented Hawksworth, this was a terrible experience for a birthday breakfast celebration. From the extremely rude hostess who offered no greeting and was snide, to the absentee waiter who scoffed and had his nose stuck in the sky... An embarrassing experience for an establishment which serves up amazing food.
Buen ambiente, la comida deliciosa y el servicio de primera
Had an amazing time on my birthday with friends for dinner. The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars was because the cookies we had for dessert were really dry and hard. We thought they would be warm and fresh out of the oven. They were nice enough to remove this from our bill. The service was excellent. I will definitely be back:)
Delicious food and amazing service in an unpretentious, upscale restaurant. All of my favourite things!
Top-notch dining experience done seemingly effortlessly.
Excelente calidad y servicio
I am always pleased when I can enjoy a fine dining experience as a vegetarian. Of the 3 in our party, 2 were vegetarian. We started by sharing the Squash custard over kale, and the apple/parsnip veloute. Both were very rich, tasty. For the main course, we each at the brassica - roasted cauliflower and broccoli, served in a tomato "fondue" and fried basil leaves. It was delicious. For dessert we had the chocolate (something or another) and the meyer lemon, mandarin organge, jasmine concoction. Scrumptious!!!
Wonderful evening, exquisite service and very special, delicious food...everything we ate. The waiter and sommelier we so attentive and lovely. Thank you once again for an outstanding meal and evening.
We had Christmas tasting menu for annual family dinner here. Every dish’s presentation was creative and cool, and it tasted pretty awesome.
We (my husband and I) had lunch reservations for Dec 24.
The restaurant and bar was very busy due to the Christmas shopping crowd. The service we received was outstanding, from the moment we arrived until our departure. We were seated in the bar until our table was ready. First-rate choices of old and new -world cocktails, fabulous presentation.
The food (we had the tasting menu) was superb, wine suggested to go with our meal was excellent and fair priced for the quality.
I recommend to experience the restaurant for lunch and/or dinner. If you are looking for great cocktails a visit to the Hawksworth bar will not disappoint you.
My first time at a fancy resturaunt and my chicken burger was raw. I took it back and they took it off the bill. Still had me shook and nervous to eat chicken for awhile.
My friends and I went there and tried their lunch set. Food was delicious, service was good. The portion was a tad small but understandable since it was $35 for 3 courses. Good experience overall
Second time at Hawksworth and happy to return. Very high quality food, creative and well presented. Nice ambiance and excellent service. Portions are large, but everything is so good that you will want to finish it, so bring a big appetite.
Fantastic experience. We had the full tasting menu with wine pairings - every single item was incredible. Above and beyond service too!
