   Food on this occasion was terribly cooked, burnt on outside, raw on the inside and impossible to chew - but not one to complain so didn’t mention and we didn’t want to spoil the evening. Asked for the service charge to be taken off given food issue. Paid the £150 bill only for the waiter to bounce off; no thanks, no bye seemingly because we didn’t pay her service charge - Very happy we didn’t pay the charge after that. Been great every other visit; shame this time, especially with such a high bill.

   We had a generally good time but overall felt the portions were small and the steak was not as good as expected. When we arrived the table wasn't ready but we were kindly treated to some delicious bread and croquettes while we waited for half an hour or so and one of our party received a free drink due to the wait. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. What we didn't realise at this point was they would be running low on steak. When we were invited to the main dining area we were encouraged to order two large Porterhouse steaks for around £100 each which should be enough and the waitress went off to book them with the chef. One of our party had been considering the Sunday roast however we were told that it stopped at 5pm which was not mentioned on the menu. Regardless, we were told everything was fine and then ordered the rest of the sides for the meal. Later, the waitress came over to apologise and said that the chef had made a mistake and there was only one Porterhouse steaks and a T-Bone steak left. We felt we didn't really have a choice as it was getting really late and we had babysitters so we accepted the exchange. By this point many people had left and we were left to eat with only a few people around. Unfortunately, although the sirloin of the T-Bone was tasty, the associated fillet was completely overdone. The sides were around half the size you might expect (e.g. half a small sweet potato?) and at the end of the meal, three of our party were asking if we should order more food but it was clear the kitchen was closed. In summary, we had a great time with our friends as we always do and the service was outstanding, it is a lovely place, but at £200 per couple for mediocre steak, small portions and expensive drinks (£21 for a glass of red wine, £7.50 for a 330ml can of lager?), we'll probably head elsewhere for special occasions and arguably better steak. I think, based on its reputation, we just expected more.

   Great 1st time experience for my partners birthday . Staff very attentive, we went with the set menu, good portion sizes and food was wonderful, very good value for money. Will definitely return!

   We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a wonderful meal, the staff were knowledgable, friendly and attentive.

   We were a table of eight and a first time visit for most of my family. Service was fantastic from start to finish and food was delicious. We had the three course special menu and upgraded some steaks and added on a few vegetable dishes and found it great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again

   Genuinely the best steak we’ve had. Also had the lobster which was amazing. Wine list was top notch. Service was incredible. Wonderful evening.

    Both my partner and I quickly agreed that while expensive this was the best meal we ever had. The service was also impeccable. Well worth the expense for the experience and quality.
