Absolutely amazing place. Food is outstanding! Service is very friendly.
Great service, but...
1) Very, very poor cooking for a Steak & Seafood restaurant. Ordered Chateaubriand rare, but it was rare steak ( definitely not Chateaubriand ). We ordered Dover Sole whole grilled on the bone and got a fillet of unidentifiable fish cooked within an inch of its life.
2) It was meant to be a special occasion, however it was very noisy and most guests were on Snapchat, Instagram, etc.
If you like upscale McDonalds cooking at Michelin-Star prices then you’ve come to the right place
We booked for my daughters 18th birthday, she loves Sunday roasts so we booked in here specifically for this reason only to be told they’d ran out & they usually run out of Sunday roasts at this time.
We were very disappointed & ordered off the special two course menu.
We all ordered filler steak which was also disappointing as it had an overwhelmingly smokey taste
The waitress was very nice & changed our cocktails for us as our first choice wasn’t to our liking.
We were very disappointed and won’t be returning
Absolutely superb. Staff very friendly and food outstanding. Best sirloin steak I’ve ever had.
Turned up on time for our booking, waiting about 10 minutes to be seated. Then ordered two drinks and had to ask where they were, after 15 minutes of waiting.
Ordered our food and have to say, both steaks were very good, although both were a little over charred on the outside for both me and my partners taste.
Ordered another two drinks, this time, only one arrived, waited 5 minutes for the second too arrive, when it never did, had to ask where it was again. (All 3 drinks were removed from the final bill)
Desserts were ordered and arrived in quick time, and both were very tasty.
As a final thought, the 4 lads in the table near us who were overly loud and possibly drunk, did spoil the atmosphere slightly.
Incredibly noisy couldn't talk across the table, food was average at best the only redeeming point was the excellent waiter.
Amazing !! Came from Glasgow for my husbands birthday couldn’t fault one thing, waiter was so accommodating nothing was too much, even gave us 2 complimentary oysters as we couldn’t decide what ones to go for. Atmosphere is perfect dimmed lights & back ground music at a nice level, I will 100% be back and will always recommend to others.
I have recommended the Hawksmoor twice today. The food and the staff are outstanding. Great steaks!
Great food as always, servers attentive and knowledgable.
Was a delay between courses which meant we had to rush to make our booking at the theatre.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Would definitely recommend.
So enjoyed my meal and the staff were so lovely.
Amazing cocktails, outstanding food and the service was off the scale good. Best late lunch experience we’ve had. Faultless.
Never have a bad meal , service or experience at the Hawksmoor !! Always my first choice
The only buts, were about the greeting, a bit cold and missed, and then my food took a bit longer than expected, for how quiet the restaurant was, and being my order a burger, but once the food was with me, i really enjoyed.
Excellent service and food. We enjoyed it that much that we have booked again for a Sunday ! You get what you pay for and the service is nothing less than excellent.
Wonderful service and food
Staff very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Chatty and very pleasant. If you want the best Steaks then this is the place to go
Great food & excellent service... the best steak in Manchester
Superb steak; attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere - enough said..,,,
Great for a special occasion. Celebrated a 40th birthday at Hawksmoor and took our 4 year old. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Not particularly set up to accommodate kids but that’s fine - that’s not their angle. Just arm yourself with crayons and order them some belting mash and gravy from the sides menu! Luckily, much like the atmosphere, our little one is pretty laid back so didn’t have an issue with the grown up vibe. Food was great - had perfectly cooked prime rib, very juicy with a lovely, deep, smokey flavour being cooked over charcoal.
Relaxed, comfortable environment in the restaurant. Very good, helpful and attentive but unobtrusive service. Food was excellent - steaks done just right! Desserts very moreish!! An excellent experience.
We have visited this lovely restaurant on at least 5
occasions and it never disappoints .
Lovely staff , lovely food ,a great vibe .
When we visit Manchester this is the one place we want to dine .... well done and thank you :)
Food wasn’t absolutely amazing - couldn’t reccomened enough.
The waitress was amazing too - she helped pick my Choices when I was unsure and made our experience much more enjoyable (sorry did not get her name).
Wait time for the food was fine, we expected a long wait because it was so busy but it was so much better than expected.
The waitress was aware that We we’re celebrating A birthday and an anniversary and brought us a box of chocolates at the end which was a really nice touch.
Only criticism was that the tables felt really close to each other, as it was quite loud we had to talk up and felt like the tables next to us were involved In the convo it was that close. Also, a wider range of desserts would have been nice. Not that big of an issue.
I will definitely be returning soon. Thanks so much.
Eaten at Hawksmoor in London several times and thoroughly enjoyed, however, in Manchester, a one and a half hour wait for food on a Sunday evening was appalling, when it did turn up it was cold and extremely overcooked, very disappointing experience. Food rejected, Manager apologetic, but...
We sent our food back 3 times.
It was freezing cold
On this being our 4th visit every other time superb we was absolutely disgusted with the food
Love coming here, food and service are always fantastic. Liam was brilliant this Sunday, even brought a free decorated dessert for my friends birthday
From taking a seat waiting for the table with a fantastic cocktail to the food which was amazingly good.
Great ambience, staff were friendly but not intrusive and gave great recommendations. The food was really excellent and we will definitely be going back!
Stunning food matched with stunning service.
Hawksmoor was our 3rd steak restaurant in Manchester after Gaucho and Grill on NY street, and also our least favourite. In fact I probably won’t be back. Mark, our server was excellent. The service was good from the moment we walked in the door. But no Pinot on the wine list. Steak came out bloody when asked for medium and again after I asked for it to be recooked. Peppercorn sauce was like water, very runny. Starters and desserts just didn’t appeal which is rare. Lobster we had to crack and tug the meat out like cannibals unlike GONYS which was prepared nicely for us. For a bill of £153 for two, which was equal or more to the others, I didn’t feel like I had my money’s worth.
Nice place - food was nice.
Did a promotional deal - would probably stick to the a la carte next time.
I still think drinks packages should be offered as some drinks in Manchester restaurants now are extortionate. £8/9 for a single rum & coke is a bit much.
Very attentive pleasant staff
Top quality steaks
What sets Hawksmoor apart?
Firstly, the formal surroundings are made to feel cosy, mainly due to to informality and efficiency of the service.
Secondly, thecquality of the food. Our shared Porterhouse (as suggested by our server) was outstanding, melt in the mouth fillet and tender but tightly more robust sirloin. Great sides.
Our steak was slightly delayed, so we received a complimentary portion of Short Rib Nuggets. Firstly, the delay was negligible, secondly the nuggets alone are worth the trip.
It's not cheap, although you can eat modestly if you choose, but it is, for me, a treat destination, but one I plan to treat myself to more often!
Fantastic visit from start to finish. The very best steak, that I have ever eaten. I'm a chef my self and was blown away. Perfect oysters to start and by pudding I was sweating I'd eaten so much. A fabulous birthday treat for my wife. Cannot wait to try the other Hawksmoor venues.
Fantastic from start to finish. Looses a star because I think the wine is quite pricey but can't fault the food.
Food was phenomenal, even better than I anticipated!
Great meal. Service was great from the beginning. Food was delicious.
Starter was huge and delicious, I would come back just for that. I prefer my steaks pan fried in garlic/herbs/butter etc so the steak wasn't amazing for me but that's personal preference. The only real negative for me was the waitress had very long hair and not tied up, that's just plain unhygienic in the restaurant industry. For an upmarket place I'd expect the basics to be met with hair tied up
Best Fug ribs I ever tasted mannnn!
Outstanding on every level. From booking the table, greeting, (exceptional) service, the quality of the food; we had the mackerel, mixed carrot salad and the lunch rump deal, plus a wonderful Portuguese Duoro.. lovely touches of quality service throughout.
