Hawk’s Landing Steakhouse & Grille – Orlando World Center Marriott Ratings and Reviews
Very upset that after I made the reservation, the restaurant called to say they’d be closed because hotel occupancy was low and they couldn’t accommodate us. Really? On a Thursday night? Then after making new reservations elsewhere, I received a confirming Text on my original reservation (turns out they don’t inform Open Table when they close) but was disappointed again at hotel check in to find Hawk’s Landing, was in fact, closed. At least communicate closures to the company making online reservations.
Had to get somewhere at short notice upon arrival to Marriott.
Hawk’s was the only place a available on open table. Now I see why
We were seated quickly and the service was good.
We ordered bone in filet med-rare and regular filet medium.
A la cate was Mac and cheese.
The med-rare bone in came out well but my dining partners was perfectly cooked.
The accompanying vegetables were good but the Mac and cheese way salty.
I sent my steak back for which they didn’t charge but we didn’t “eat” together.
Noisy crowd but due to the circumstances understandable.
If the chefs could cook the meat correctly and it wasn’t so loud I wold go back.
BTW drinks WAY expensive
My wife and I celebrated my Birthday. The food was very good and Larry, our server, was excellent. I believe that Marriott should have been more creative in marketing Hawks Landing, rather than attempting to recreate it inside the hotel itself which is to occur in the near future Bad management decision!
I arrived at Hawk's Landing with my business clients for our reservation that we had booked 3 weeks prior. The manager came to me and said "I'm sorry we can't accommodate you and we have moved your reservation to the Italian restaurant ". I was given no notice of the change and no other options. They had a private event scheduled for that evening that had to have been scheduled for quite some time. Had I known about the conflict in advance I could have made alternate arrangements. The way this was handled was incredibly unprofessional and put me in a very difficult position. The restaurant they moved us to had excellent service but the food was not great. I was incredibly disappointed by my experience.
We almost didn't go because of some poor review we read. We decided to just give it a try and very happy we did. The service was great from the moment we walked in. The apps came out quickly and were delicious. The staff was friendly. Our steak entrè (cowgirl ribeye) was perfect, the sides of truffle corn and Parmesan fries were also delicious. The lighting and ambience was odd for a steak house, a little bright for a late dinner. All in all it was a great meal and we would definitely go back!
I've dined here in the past, and feel there has been a decline in the food. Had oysters, NY strip steak, and potatoes au gratin. The oysters ($18) were very lacking in flavor. The steak ($54) was not very flavorable. The potatoes ($10) were the best tasting. Add two glasses of wine ($20 each), and the bottom line with tax and tip was over $140. Very overpriced for what one gets.
Absolutely average. Service and steak were ok. We had an 8:30 reservation, so I told the waitress that we wanted to relax with a couple of drinks before we ordered dinner. She informed me that the kitchen closes at 9 so we had to order by 9. Nothing wrong with this place, but nothing that makes me want to return.
Having made a reservation prior to going to dinner, I found the on line experience easy to manuevur through. There was only one glitch, I plannned on dining alone and there was no button to chosse one for dinner. Upon my arrival, the greeter was very courteous. My server was very attentive and treated me very well. He recommended the house special with enthusiasm, which is why I chose it. The fish was very well sesoned and the vegetables tender. The whole experience was a delightful one.
