The reservation was right on time and no waiting, they were a little busy so that was appreciated.
Sun sets at 6:30ish so if you don’t want the front tables keep that in mind.
It was seafood night and I had the daily catch which was opakapaka and it was grilled to perfection.
Wife had the mahi and she enjoyed it.
Maui onion soup was shared and it was delicious!
The salad is huge so maybe share it?
Pacing was right on and the restaurant manager greeted everyone to make sure everything was great.
Desert of vanilla and yes macadamia I e cream were just right.
With tip it was $140 for 2.
The food was good as they had plant based options which I appreciated very much. My husband isn't vegan & liked his food choices as well. It was a beautiful spot seeing the sunset & then when it was dark the planet Venus could be seen, it was beautiful. The servers were very attentive and happy to answer questions. BTW the pool was warm as I wished I stayed there as the Hilton was cold water.
This is a great location at the Marriott Waikoloa for watching a sunset. They had two seafood related options on Tuesday evening. It took our waiter over 15 minutes to approach us after being seated, but the rest of the experience was great.
We went for Valentine’s Day and we were told two days earlier that we. Hold do the buffet, order from the fixed valentine menu or off the regular menu. We decided to order off the valentine menu which was $65 per person the orations were small and overpriced. Nothing spectacular. If I go back I’d probably do the buffet which is also $65 per person.
Lulu and Raymond were outstanding for our pre dinner cocktail. Wonderful representatives for Marriott. Bryan, our server was friendly and prompt. Made our valentines special
We waited 45 minutes to get our appetizer for the Valentine's Day Dinner. They were not ready at 5pm to seat people, and the food was clearly not ready on time either. Very disappointing since we have had good service there during previous visits. The food was just OK, and priced too high. Sadly, we will not be returning for dinner there ever again based on our latest experience.
We love this open air restaurant and Marriott Waikoloa Ocean Club. This is our 3rd time staying here and we dine at Hawaii Calls often.

The menu is excellent, as is the wine list. Recommend the Ahi Chips appetizer, Ugly Tomato salad, either rib dish and Mahi Mahi. My husband and I usually share be cause the portions are large and we like to taste more dishes.
The service is excellent, sometimes slow but we aren't in a rush. Lots of Aloha from the staff.
Compared to the other resorts on the Big Island's west coast, this venue is intimate and very approachable. The restaurant has a festive ambience with the horseshoe bar in the back and dining tables toward the front. Usually there is live music that is in the background, not overpowering the room.
Prices are medium-high, but we've eaten other places that are more expensive and not enjoyed our dinner as much. Highly recommend.
Great meal...special seafood menu on Tuesdays features 3 choices..all a good value.

After arriving on time for your sunset dinner, we immediately noticed that the hotel had booked a business dinner with awards immediately in front of the dining tables. There was loud yelling and applause every time someone got an award. They completely blocked any possible view of the water. After complaining to the manager, nothing was done. We ordered drinks and 45 minutes later we got the appetizer, still without the drinks we ordered. The service was terrible. The food was terrible. The ability of the manager to enable diners to enjoy an expensive and potentially memorable dining experience was unacceptable. Awful experience. Then we left without eating or drinking anything but water.

The food was very good, the service also very good, and the atmosphere excellent. I had the roast beef and my husband had the ahi.tuna, tiramisu for dessert. All was delicious.

Conveniently located in the Marriott. Part of our group had the buffet and part ordered ala carte. Both were tasty. The server was very nice both a bit overstretches.
Very slow service, we had to get up from the table twice to find our waiter for drink orders, condiments . He never asked once how everything was? Very discouraging. Ambiance was great, food was as expected

The crab and prime rib dinner.
I do not understand how crab can be so over cooked. So over cooked to the point it’s like rubber. I also don’t understand why some of the shells come up empty and not one or two but five.
We couldn’t get a second glass of wine. Do not waste your money or time on this.
The fresh catch fish sandwich had barely any fish. It was a tiny piece.
The lobster shrimp club sandwich had no flavor it was just awful.
The seafood sampler and the fisherman platter were ok nothing special but best thing we had.
The menu shown on open table did not reflect the actual menu. It had much fewer options and the pricing was more expensive. I would recommend that you notify customers with a disclaimer that the menu is subject to change.
We were staying at the Marriott Waikoloa during our honeymoon; my husband is a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, so we received several drink and food vouchers for this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not treated as Marriott patrons through this experience.
- Their Hawaiian flow alcoholic drink was delicious (we received this as part of our welcome gift from Marriott given my husband's status)
- The breakfast buffet (which we received complimentary) had a variety of options; given it was complimentary, we enjoyed it (not sure it is worth $30+)
- HORRIBLE service: For our dinner reservation, we waited 15+ minutes for a glass of champagne (which was complimentary from our Marriott ambassador as we were celebrating our honeymoon). It was only after I went to the front staff and complained to a manager that we saw the waiter running with our champagne, which clearly had been sitting out for awhile.
- Subpar dinner: My husband ordered a lobster bisque, and there was no actual lobster in the bisque. It was clear that the server had not even attempted to get chunks of lobster to include in the bisque
- Limited options: As a vegetarian, I struggled to find anything healthy here. They had at most 1 item on the menu I could eat, and it lacked any taste appeal
I do not recommend coming here, unless you have Marriott status and can get free breakfast and a drink. The service is atrocious and they do not care about customers at all.

We always want our guests to feel thanked for their loyalty, as well as extra special celebrating their honeymoon. To make up for your wait for champagne we did provide you with an extra bottle of champagne, complimentary. I am very sorry that this did not resolve the issue well enough for you. We hope you will return so we can show your our elevated level of service.

Relatively informal setting but unexpectedly good food. Service a bit slow but server was excellent and overall meal was way better than expected in chain hotel in Xmas week
The dinner took forever. There was a bunch of empty tables when we arrived. We were 15 minutes late and we’re scolded for it in the beginning. The waiter hardly ever came to our table and it took forever to order drinks then the main course and we had to flag someone down after 45 minutes waiting to get a dessert menu and our check. Pretty ridiculous! We live on the island and we had guest that we brought out to dinner with us. Not a good impression by any means
Waiter forgot to order 1 of 4 guests meals. Fourth showed up when other 3 were finished. did not order dessert, ... as we just wanted to leave. Left him 15% tip my wife said was generous. She's probably right.
Restaurant said we were a no show, when we were actually there ruined our dining experience and several tables close by too. Manager ended up buying our dinner and table next to us. It seems like this restaurant has some serious management issues. It is located within the Marriott hotel, so people that have limited choices will continue to eat here even though they should not waste their money at this restaurant.
Took an hour and a half to get our entrees. They are better set up for service if you get the buffet. We will not return.
We went on a night where there was a price fix and a limited open menu. We did not opt for price fix and while selection was fine, it probably was not indicative of the whole menu
The Christmas buffet was delicious - great selection, but we were seated in an overflow section (which was fine), HOWEVER, the wait staff apparently forgot we were seated there. Our plates were never cleared, our drinks were never refilled, and we had to flag servers down and practically beg to get anyone to pay attention to us if we needed anything. Thank goodness it was a buffet!
Came for the Christmas buffet. Service was poor, tables on top of each other, and the entrées were pretty bad. I would not return here again
My wife’s birthday is Christmas Day and we had trouble finding a place on short notice and our dining experience was fantastic and the service was off the chart! They brought a wonderful ice cream cake with candles and sang happy birthday even as busy as they were. Great Xmas buffet and was much more reasonable than other places and we were not disappointed! We will be back next year! Cheers!

Had the ribs, the whole plate was only luke warm, trying to get the waiters attention was difficult. Upon being warmed up (presumably in the microwave) the mean was dry and they forgot to put my corn back on the plate. Horrible meal and the service was rather poor too. I had the creme brulee for desert which was actually very good and it was comped so made up a little for the terrible meal. World still not recommend.
Thanksgiving dinner buffet. WONDERFUL! Everything was delicious and so many choices I couldn’t try everything.
Great Service, the auntie who helped us was awesome with our kids! The food was good for breakfast, not $30 good, but good enough.
We did the all you can eat prime rib and snow crab legs. Great meal, but very pricey. I've paid the same amount at the Bacchanal, and it was much better. THIS IS HAWAII however, so, you gotta play the game. Enjoy the buffet if you do it, you're in paradise!
