Haven Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had above par service beginning with the hostess, continuing on with the bartender, Rachel, and following us to our table, with our server. Word of Mouth obviously believes in emphasizing a quality experience must be a package deal-food and service. We look forward to checking out other restaurants owned by Word of Mouth!
It was packed and extremely loud! We were seated in a booth and although we are of average build, it was a tight squeeze for four people. Our server Peyton was very nice, but the order came out missing the condiments and with some items that we said we didn’t want. The fries were over cooked and the portion was huge. This restaurant is also one of our” go to’s” but tonight the atmosphere was very different than normal, especially for a Sunday.
This is a difficult review to write. The food was excellent and our server was delightful. BUT, despite a 7:00pm reservation, we were not seated until almost 8:00pm. There is no lounge or bar to sit comfortably and wait. While I understand that diners often linger, others were being seated before us. The manager and hostess kept apologizing. They offered free drinks. Clearly they have an issue with managing their seating. That said, we received a free appetizer and a $25 gift card to return. I was thankful that I used Open Table points and paid for the entire meal with a my gift card!!!! We will give Haven another try, but NOT during holiday time or on a Friday or Saturday, before we recommend to others.
The service here was great. The food was pretty generic and some components of the dishes , namely the vegetables, seemed to have been reheated several times as they did not taste or look fresh and they were severely overcooked. The scallops were not the freshest either. The wines by the glass were not memorable. I live on the vicinity and I see no reason to come back.
I love Haven, the food is always good, service is perfect and the atmosphere is great...this restaurant is not too big, so it has a local feel. Michael the owner is there a lot, loves his patrons and the staff feel like family. The specials are outstanding, I had the cobia which was awesome, but the menu is always wonderful....I never worry about taking friends, meeting business clients, etc. there for dinner, its going to be good. Enjoy it!!
Always a good experience at Haven. This last time though I had 2 areas that definitely needed improvement. 1) A COMPLETELY revamped Bloody Mary. The mix currently being used got ‘thumbs down’ from all 5 diners at my table which speaks for itself. 2) Use a better quality steak for the steak and egg menu item. The hangar steak was beyond chewy and ruined the meal. Use a filet or tenderloin and increase the price but don’t use that crappy hangar steak.
My husband went to celebrate my birthday. We had a delicious dinner. The food was fabulous. The atmosphere was fun and festive, but we were in a booth towards the back, so we could have our own cozy conversation. The service was excellent and they treated me to a delicious dessert for my birthday. We will definitely go back!
Our dinner was excellent! Our waiter was great and offered some suggestions on food and wine. We had the beef tenderloin and a bone in filet, both were cooked to perfection! We enjoyed the sweet potato soup and the caesar salad. We split the very decadent , warm chocolate brownie with Caramel ice cream and expresso sauce. Love this palce!
Why did I wait? Have missed 15 years of this wonderful hot spot! We were greeted with champagne at our table celebrating birthday of restaurant...how nice. Food was excellent, diverse and very well proportioned. We asked questions of our waitress Hannah - who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us solid recommendations. We asked if we could split a salad, and she had it pre split in the kitchen (Nice touch). The food was really top notch - and the ambience was hip and cool. It was a Friday night - so it was a bit loud. Would go again in a minute! Lot of value for the choices.
First time having Brunch at Haven. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was super chewy and burnt on the edges (I order my steak medium) I had asked for the Bernaise sauce to be put on the side. Our waiter said that wouldn’t be a problem, my entree came with the bernaise sauce all over the steak. I ate it anyways and didn’t notify the waiter. The biscuits were sooooooo delicious. Would have been nice to either have the option to have both jam or gravy OR an option to choose just one. We didn’t care for the gravy and I felt like we wasted it. We ended up getting more jam since the amount you get is not very much for 3 biscuits. I’d definitely go there again and try something different.
