We decided to go here before a family date night. We were in and out! Food was AWESOME and service was GREAT! The drinks were perfectly made, too. I had a Jalapeno Cariparaiha (sp ?) and a Cuban coffee after dinner...they both were GREAT!!! Im going back next week!
Very accommodating as we unexpectedly added to our group.
Wonderful mojitos! The carne asada and pulled pork entree were delicious, and the desserts ended the evening with just the right amount of sweetness! We will be back!
Food was excellent!
Service was so fast and the food was really excellent. Great skirt steak. Guac was amazing! All good things to say! No brainer for a good meal.
Celebrated friend birthday
Delicious. Cuban food. Outstanding flavors. Generous portions. Pitcher specials are amazing too!
The chimichangas were unreal, I could drink the sauce it came in.
Quick service, great meal, fun vibe.
Service and food were great! The place is very cozy and perfect for any occasion. They do open up the tables later at night on the weekends and turns into a fun dance floor
Food and mojitos were delicious. Ambience was great. The only thing was the busboy, it was like we were being rushed. At one point he was standing at the table while we were still eating, just waiting to take our plates.
Always great. Food, drinks, service. Best around and that's why i always come back.
The food was very good other than the pork dish we ordered and that might have been our fault in ordering the wrong item, but not positive. In any case it wasn't what we expected.
So-so food and experience overall. Calamari appetizer heavily breaded served with thin (watery) sauce. Ensalada Verano described as "mixed greens, ripe avocados, mangos, red onion, and citrus vinaigrette" came as a huge bowl of mixed greens, a few strawberries, and some jicama slivers. When I sent it back, it returned with 2 thin slices of avocado and some red onion placed on top of what I sent back. My husband's Combo Paella was light on the seafood (2 shrimp, 2 mussels). My Ropa Vieja was OK--tender meat but lacking any "kick" to the sauce. The accompanying plantains were nicely prepared and tasty. Key lime pie was a thin (neither wide nor tall) slice that could have used more zesty flavor and more heft. Noise volume once the restaurant filled was lively and loud. Service was relatively efficient but uninspired. Overall: Ho-hum. No intention of returning.
The food and drinks are always great. It's nice for both a nice dinner out or on the weekends for live music and dancing.
Some of the best food anywhere in Chicago. Love this place!
Excellent food, sexy atmosphere. The mojitos are delicious and I've had the Paella Caribena three different time.s
Meal was delicious! The pork chops were excellent!
Amazing place with great food.
Really great food, excellent service and awesome atmosphere
So delicious! The mango mojito and empanadas were amazing.
I decided to bring my friends after i visited with some of my co-workers. They absolutely loved everything about the space and the food and drinks were amazing. We will definitely visit again.
Great place to eat
Imaginative fare, warm and unpretentious atmosphere, reasonable prices, great service. We’ve been there many times because it’s a good location, and we usually go earlier in the evening before it gets too busy. Love the chiles rellenos—not deep fried, and filled with minutely diced veggies. A good vegetarian option, I think.
The Carne con Tequila is delicious! We also had the empanadas trio which were also delish. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff.
Havana is always fantastic. I took a date here and really knocked his socks off. 🙂
My wife and I were downtown for our anniversary and came here. She had the chicken wrapped in banana leaf and I had the glazed pork chops. Both entrees were excellent as were the whipped sweet potatoes, the plantains, and the passion fruit mojito. The service was excellent and we both had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We wanted to go to this place because it seemed to have some Hispanic authenticity. It was very Cuban and very good. We went for dinner and it was about 6 degrees outside so it was not very crowded. It did not matter. The service was great and the food was fresh and excellant. We tried the chimichangas, the enchiladas and pollo coco limon along with mojitos to drink. Everything was great and we were especially please with the quality of the mojitos. All in all we were very pleased, given we travelled all the way from Columbus Ohio with this being one of the main things we were coming to Chicago to try. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes hispanic food or if you are just willing to try something that will be very fine quality.
Wonderful space and wonderful food! Bathrooms are down a set of stairs and can be tricky if you're in heels, not for individuals who need wheelchair accesible spaces unless there was another area I wasn't aware of. Otherwise fantastic. Would definitely go again.
Been here many time just not for dinner. I had a birthday celebration so I decided to try it. Dinner was good. Several of us had the grilled chicken which was good, but I felt like it lacked a bit of flavor. I guess its not what I was expecting. Overall the service was excellent and they were accommodating. Music starts around 11 PM and they have a live band and a DJ. Music is great for dancing even though the space is not that big, but every time I have been here it was a blast.
