Havana 1957 - Espanola Way Ratings and Reviews
Biggest issue was seating for two..on corner of pedestrian
Way and very busy traffic ..if eating here either sit inside or demand seating far away from Washington..down Espanola Way..really killed any ambiance sitting on that area too close to busy street
Great service ..very good food
We sat outside on a beautiful day, highly recommended! The food was very good but I wouldn’t say amazing. I thought that the custom mojitos (I had the Guava and my wife had the Kiwi) both were delicious.
I do want to say that the service there was amazing! I don’t remember her name but our waitress was very knowledgeable, warm and entertaining. All in all, you should make it a stop.
Food and service was excellent!!! I would definitely go back and recommend to others. The only negative was I needed more table space, it was a bit cramped. I had the roasted chicken, beans and rice which was so tasty. Fresh fried plantains was so good. I was really pleased overall with my experience at Havana 1957. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful in explaining the different things on the menu. A must while in Miami...
Food was authentic and tasty, as was the house sangria. However, it was frustrating to make a reservation and be told to sit at the bar with very little space and uncomfortable seating, just because I was there alone on a business trip. I should have lied about another person... I would have preferred a table, especially for the price of 2 drinks and dinner.
Everything was wonderful from the moment we were seated until we left. Our server Romel O was fantastic with recommends, etc. I would 100% return here and recommend my friends and family to come here. Not to mention Espinolla way is absolutely adorable! We were there on a Sunday night and it was hopping- Saturday the plaza must have been really jumping!
Unbelievably fun atmosphere, great drinks, and good food
Life really doesn't get much better than sitting outside with someone you love, drinking tasty mojitos together as the world walks by. That you get to enjoy some yummy food while you are doing it makes the experience all that much better.
Tasting a variety of dishes on a previous visit with a larger group taught us some of the high and low points of the menu. The Masitas de Puerco (fried cubed pork and onions) is delicious as is the Pan con Bistec. The latter is a delightful blend of textures and flavors as the steak plays off the tomatoes, tiny fries, and Cuban bread. We had these along with a perfectly fine Ensalada de Estacion and some OK shrimp cocktail. But the Tirasela Tu (a Cubano coffee poured over tiramisu) that finished our meal was staggeringly good. Our previous visit revealed that the 'specialty of the house' - roasted chicken - and the Tostones are both very bland and so we avoided them this time.
All in all, you come here more for the atmosphere and the drinks than for a fine dining experience. If you are OK with that you will be in no way disappointed.
Very crowded inside, lots of seating outside. Service quick, waiter recommended the "special of the day" Chicken in gravy, black beans, rice and plantains. It was served almost immediately! It was tasty but nothing special, think it was what was already cooked!
Food was good and authentic. Server was very attentive and patient. Reception was confrontational as they thought our reservation was at a different restaurant as the phone number for Havana 1957 - Espinola Way was actually for a different location for Havana 1957. The restaurant needs to update their numbers and addresses with Open Table to ensure they are correct for their respective restaurant locations. Once we identified the problem, the staff tried their best to be accommodating.
It was touristy and loud, but that’s what I expected and wanted on New Years Eve. Patio was great for people watching. I expected the food to be so-so but was happily surprised by how great it all was. We had croquettes, a sandwich, a chicken dish, and a steak and everyone was happy. And we are picky.
After visiting Cuba earlier this year and feeling like I didn't get to experience Cuban cuisine, I was excited to check this place out. I actually made reservations not knowing how busy dinner would be, but they were not needed. We got seated outside fairly quickly. My husband and I each ordered a Cuba Libre. I am not sure what the cost was, but they do come in a fairly large wine glass and were tasty. I did not like that they served them in such a way, it seemed more gimmicky than sticking to how a Cubre Libre should be served. The server pointed out some of the favorites that were more traditional Cuban favorites, which we tried. I ordered a sampler of the 3 different options, so it came with beef, chicken and pork samples with rice and beans and a side salad. It was tasty. The chicken was nothing more than a piece of fried chicken really, but the pork and beef was nice. I love plantains, so having those as a side was also nice. My husbands dish was more like a ground beef stew of sorts. He said it was tasty, but I obviously got the better dish. Service was fine, but being in a prime tourist spot, they are just as busy trying to rush people in as they are serving those that are there. It is more a tourist spot and I would not go back. If you want tradition Cuban and to not feel like you are just sitting in a high traffic, tourist area, then try and find something off the beaten path.
