Hau Terrace is always delicious!! We are always pleased with the great service, friendly staff and relaxing view.
Be sure to make a reservation if you’re going for breakfast, the eggs Benedict is the best !!
Absolutely perfect for my birthday celebration. Romantic outdoor dining at sunset, right on Waikiki Beach along the Gold Coast. The fresh fish is so ono delicious with various preparation options. I chose the Opakapaka with Citrus Mango with brown rice and fresh seasonal vegetables. My husband had the Opakapaka prepared with a lemon butter caper sauce. Enjoyed our 5:30pm dinner with plenty of time to Uber to the Diamond Head Theatre for a 7:30pm show. Excellent for lunch or dinner. The service was excellent and the menu lists which items are Gluten Free.
I had dinner with my family and had a table by the ocean. It was nice view. But it was busy because Friday so we should have had at 6 o’clock before.
We enjoyed Hau Tree to celebrate our 10th Anniversary dinner. The caprese salad, spinach bacon salad and broiled Mahi-Mahi were all very good. The atmosphere was fantastic under the hau tree while the sun set over the Pacific!
Food was delicious. Ambiance was decent, but felt somewhat tacky. There were stains on the menu. Hostess was kind, and changed my wife’s chair without us having to ask, because the leather on seat was severely cracked. Didn’t care for the waiter. Didn’t tell us to enjoy our food, didn’t come check on us to ask us if we were enjoying our meal—very impersonable and felt like he just wanted us to eat our food and leave. Felt like we could have had a better experience somewhere else for the price we paid. Will not come back.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here with my mom and sis during our Hawaiian vacation. The restaurant is located right on the beach in the New Otani hotel, and we were treated to a pink sunset, fresh fish, and careful service.
I was able to spend splendid time. I am satisfied very much with the dish which is delicious for wonderful service.
It was very delicious as I had you recommend the steak.
I am sorry that I am full and was not able to eat dessert.
We love the Hau Terrace and have been going there for many years....when it was the Kaimana, before it became the New Otani Hotel. We love to go there with family and often when we have visitors. It is such a pleasant place, the food is good, great service, nice to dine out doors. We also love the Miyako Restaurant upstairs and frequent the restaurant.
Best alfresco setting in Honolulu. Wonderful service, very intimate.
The setting and view was spectacular and service was wonderful.Need more vegetarian and some vegan options.
Overall It is a very nice dining experience. The website makes setting up a table reservation simple and you can request a table near the water. The menu online makes ordering simple as you can make some decisions before you arrive. If I had any complaint It would be the length of time it took to get our food. We were seated at 7 pm and it was almost 8 by the time we received our food. The food was very good and presented well.
Love the atmosphere. Waiter was terrible, no smile, not polite or helpful. Coffee refill 3 times. I had to ask for it 3 times! Never came by to keep it filled or hot. Never had breakfast before in a restaurant that did not refill breakfast coffee and keep it coming!
My meal was wonderful and the waiter was the best. He was so nice and based on his recommendation, I got the best meal. He was just so nice to us the whole time!
I visited there with my mother as a breakfast on the last day of our visit. We ordered Garden Benedict and Acai bowl
We enjoyed the texture of english muffin and it was the best Egg Benedict I've ever eat. As I've seen in the review beforehand, I think their muffin is totally different from the one I get from the supermarket
On the other hand, acai bowl was disappointing as the granola was stale.
We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant but overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant because of their poor service
As soon as we were seated, a waiter came and asked us "coffee?" without providing us the drink menu. We thought that it was free and they only had the only option of coffee and tea. However, their average coffee costs 5 dollars each. I think they thought that we are Japanese who cannot speak English but their service is so disappointing
In addition, when we were trying to check, one of the waitress lost my mother's credit card and asked us to check her bag in case she didn't put her card in the check. I thought that was so rude because he didn't even try to find her card. Consequently, he found the card on the counter but we wanted to get rid of the 18% chip for this restaurant.
BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE PAYING WITH YOUR CARD
