We visited the Harvest Room for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is not very large, so a reservation is a must (we had booked a reservation). The service we received was good, our server came around regularly to ensure we did not need anything, clearing away plates and refilling beverages. The full buffet was OK, the food tasted good, it was hot and well replenished, but there was a very small selection considering the price. Eggs could be taken from the buffet or special ordered, there was a potato choice, two meat choices and french toast. The bread station had three choices of bread, 2-3 flavors of muffin and small croissants. There was a couple types of cereal, 3 smoothie blends, some cut up fruit, two types of cheese, and yogurt. We did find enough to eat, however we feel that this buffet has quite a bit less options then buffets offered by other quality restaurants for similar price.

Great service. Excellent “Beast Platter” for two. Had a combo of seafood and bison. Excellent veggies to accompany on board.

Took my wife for Valentines Day expecting a memorable experience, when we were seated there was barely enough room to pull my chair out to sit, when I did sit my legs were hitting the legs of the table. Turns our we were at a portable card table setup to look like normal seating, I guess extra capacity for Valentines Day.
The meal was OK off the set menu, for the significant cost of the meal was very underwhelmed and disappointed.
Server was excellent and very knowledgeable

Though the lunch was a buffet the food was very tasty and the wines were excellent. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. All in all a very nice Valentine's Day experience.

My wife and I have been to the Harvest Room on previous occasions and always found the meals to be excellent (if a bit pricey). On this occasion, we were a disappointed with the overall quality of the food, finding it a bit bland. We will likely choose other restaurants over the Harvest Room for future evenings out.

We were staying at the hotel for our five year anniversary. Adam was an amazing server, so knowledgeable and just overall made our experience so much better. We will be back with our parents this Sunday and will definitely be asking for him! Thank you for making a special night even better Adam! This man deserves recognition.

As always, the Harvest Room was delightful. The food and service were both top notch. I have nothing but the highest level of respect for the Fairmont restaurants because they put so much thought into even the smallest details, such as their high quality, proprietary teas.

first time at the restaurant, celebrating girlfriends birthday, very good atmosphere, food, service. we did order the incredible chocolate cake as a treat for her birthday and the server brought a piece of cake that we took for the one we ordered (we shared) and were disappointed as it was dry and not very tasty. only after we finished this one did he bring the one we ordered. The girlfriend wasn't very happy as she would not have ate any of it if she had known. it would have meant a lot more if the dessert was compted as we have had that done at other steak houses.

We celebrated our anniversary there and everything was fantastic from beginning to end. We had the chowder as our appetizers and the lamb and risotto for entrees-both flavourful and delicious. Dew, our server, was attentive but not overbearing. They even surprised us with champagne and dessert to help us celebrate! A great restaurant for special occasions!

The Harvest Room has always been our favourite restaurant for special occasions. We've had a meal for 13 but mostly a romantic meal for two. We have never been disappointed. The food is excellent as is the service. This is truly a fine dining experience.

The best dining experience! I made a reservation on OpenTable for The Harvest Room and had included a note that we would be celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday. When we arrived, the host took us to our table with a great view and wished him happy birthday which was so thoughtful. Our server Jacob was so friendly and generous and the food was incredible. My boyfriend had opted for the three course meal with the wine pairing and Jacob was kind enough to provide few sips for myself so I wouldn't be left out which I wasn't at all expecting. They also brought out a small piece of cake, decorated with "happy birthday" written in chocolate and a lit candle and two flutes of champagne--such a thoughtful surprise!! They were also able to accommodate for our schedule as we had tickets to a play later that night--service was timely without feeling rushed.

The Harvest Room is everything you need for a special occasion: high end ambiance while still welcoming and intimate, outstanding customer service, attention to detail and superb food that was flavourful and perfectly presented. Thank you to Jacob and The Harvest Room for making our evening so special. This place will absolutely be our first choice for celebrations in the future!

Really good food and service, but a large noisy group (not obnoxious- just noisy) really detracted from what we had hoped would be a protracted dinner and conversation over our 30th anniversary. Would have made more sense to put that group in another room at the Mac and left the regular pleasant quiet atmosphere of the Harvest Room intact.

overall experience was so-so. we had to ask for more plates at the buffet as they'd run out. there was a small food selection which is fine if the food is outstanding, but it was just ok. so i wouldn't recommend to anyone based on value for money. Beautiful venue though

A wonderful Christmas brunch. The room is lovely and was decorated beautifully. The food was delicious and very nicely presented. Our server was friendly and very accommodating. We didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy our table conversation without a lot of surrounding noise although the room was full with other groups enjoying brunch. It's always a pleasure to visit the wonderful MacDonald Hotel. It has a wonderful "feel" to it. The only disappointment I'd say was the dessert section. There were a few selection of squares which were beautiful but a larger variety of dessert choices would have been nice.

The venue was stunning but the food wasn’t very good. My husband had the bison and he loved it but I had the sasusage and it was terrible. The dessert was great and the brunch the next morning was wonderful but for the price and quality I don’t recommend it for dinner.

We booked this restaurant as a pre-Christmas get-together for our of town friends... We started the evening hosting the two other couples in our home for drinks and hors d’oeuvres ; then went on to Hotel MacDonald for a beautiful dining experience and delicious meal, the waiter after discovering that 2 of us were celebrating birthdays brought out champagne and dessert brownies to share!
We loved the entire evening and even took photos in front of the beautiful Christmas tree,
Excellent evening and dining experience...

This has to be the number one restaurant in Edmonton. I am not sure how they do it but I have always called it a Food Experience rather than dinner. Five stars across the board. Keep up the good work!
