Harvest was very good. The food was great, service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was beautiful. It was not very busy and we could not understand why. We enjoyed it very much and will recommend to friends.
Atmosphere was nice. Service somewhat slow. Food was acceptable.
The Harvest in the Redmont Hotel is a real find. We have eaten there three times and the food has been excellent. It's never very full and seem not not have been taken up by the "cool foodie" crowd, but it should be. The prices are quite reasonable for such imaginative, beautifully presented and excellently prepared food, significantly less than many of the better regarded eating places in Birmingham. At a recent meal our octopus appetizer was fabulous as were the scallops and our shared dessert--olive oil cake. On another night we enjoyed very good pasta dishes. Our friends loved the lamb chops and their chocolate dessert. The service, though very friendly and attentive, seems still to have a bit of new restaurant awkwardness and rough spots (ex. not being able to find the wine, forgetting cutlery).
Based on good reviews, we decided to try this relatively new "hotel" restaurant in the newly renovated "Redmont Hotel" with friends. We were pleased to find a nice restaurant open on a Sunday evening in Birmingham (other than chain restaurants, not many choices are available for us). The restaurant was not crowded on that Sunday evening and we had a very pleasant and accommodating server. He made one mistake (did not bring out soup), but more than made up for it. We were pleasantly surprised with great food, except for one dish in my opinion. The crostini appetizer (shared, with three individual pieces) was great (9/10), the lamb T-bone served over a risotto was GREAT (10/10) and perfectly cooked. One friend had the scallop dish which he liked, but i found that the scallops tasted and smelled "fishy" (fresh seafood should no smell). We tried two of the three desert choices and found all three to be excellent. Overall a very good experience and we will be back.
First time to visit and had an overall good experience but was surprised at the menu items they were out of already. It is Friday on Labor Day weekend and restaurant was not very busy. Chef must have prepared for that fact because they were out of a number of items from the start including a few appetizers and a signature dish.
Our server was very apologetic and did his best to manage the situation. Nice job Allen for your first day!
Moving forward all four of us really enjoyed our respective meals and drinks. As a nice gesture the manager sent a wonderful desert for the table to share. Great chocolate dish!
Would return again.
Harvest provided not only an excellent meal but top notch service as well. My husband and I loved everything from the pre dinner cocktail to the appetizer, main course and dessert provided through their restaurant week menu. Not only that our server was attentive and non-intrusive but made wonderful suggestions and was helpful navigating the wine list as well as suggesting a post dinner coffee. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will be returning again soon.
An excellent meal with terrific service. The lamb was the best I've had.
We were suprised to find this gem in a hotel lobby. I had the scallops over a delicious succotash. The kale Caesar was excellent. We finished with a chocolate desert (don't remember name) but we distributed 4 spoons so everyone got a bite - very good.
Wine list was good - though Reds were above cellar temp and the "glass" selection needs improvement.
I was very pleased with the beautiful renovations. The design was perf ft for the space! Contemporary but still chic. The temperature was a little warm and the service was under par but they took a percentage off our check without my even having asked. Can't wait to return. The shrimp linguini was delicious and the salad with apples and Gorgonzola was very tasty!
Food quality was excellent but the malfunctioning AC, no sparkling water and the über-rushed service was disappointing. Cocktail and dinner wine served at the same time, forgotten appetizer, salad and main course brought within minutes of each other and getting our dessert order... AND BRINGING IT before we had even finished half of the main course indicated to us that our server had other plans for the evening and it didn't include allowing us to enjoy our dinner.
Moresthepity.... We had high hopes.
I've lost count how many times I've been back to this great new spot. Both brunch and dinner are always delicious! The specialty pancake of the week is always a fun surprise and oh so yummy. Love the valet and the warm greeting. Love the wait staff. Love the ambiance. Love, love, love the food! Yep, I'll be back!
Really enjoyed the dinner. The food was outstanding. Server was nice and knowledgeable but the restaurant was slow and we still didn't see him as much as we would have liked. My only other slight complaint was that the tables are just too small to eat comfortably. We kept feeling with wine bottle and everything that we were going to knock something off. All that said we will go back because it was a nice relaxing evening.
Love this place! Nice and quiet & not rushed. Great menu. Octopus great! Fantastic staff, very knowledgable. A great way to spend an evening with friends. Menu is fairly small, but have been here twice now and still looking forward to trying different things on my next visit.
My fiancé and I had a nice dinner here
We made a reservation here Mother's Day and were really surprised how good everything was. The food was top notch. I highly recommend he octopus and the linguine. The fig steak salad was also great. We plan on coming back to try brunch!
