My friend took me to lunch for my 70th birthday. We were both impressed with the care that was taken with COVID 19 into consideration. Nothing on the table. The sliced Brussels sprout salad was excellent! My husband and I finished it for lunch today.
Normally, I love this place and we had good cocktails and dinner this night, but it seemed really noisy - usually it isn't. However, maybe people were just happy to get out of the house (coronavirus time) and were energetic about it. We enjoyed our evening and will definitely return.
This was only my second time at Harvest, but because of its high ratings and the fact that we had fussy eaters from out of town as our guests, we decided to give it another try. Generally I don't give restaurant reviews, but I decided to this time. First for the good news.... There were four of us, and three of us had the short ribs which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and was told by our waiter were their favorite menu item. I had the 3 blackened fish tacos and thought they were an embarrassment. The fish (what there was of it) was stone cold in three stone cold shells. Their could not have been more than 2 small bites of fish in each of the three shells. Covering the fish was a likewise cold and spicy red sauce mixed with tiny diced tomatoes and that was it. And, when did spicy equal blackened? Really? I thought of making a stink, but was afraid our guests might be embarrassed and its not in my nature to stir things up. That is why I am doing it via this review. Sadly I saw many others having their fish tacos delivered to them as well, and wanted to yell at them, "before its too late, send them back, send them back"!!
Great job, out of town guests impressed. Mix up on salads, try putting dressing on top vs bottom. Wrong salads given to wrong people.
Usually the food prep is excellent. This time however the salmon was over-cooked, and dry.
Harvest is truly a neighborhood gem. Interesting and varied menu with tempting choices for all. Very nicely prepared dishes. Great bar and ample wine collection. Sit outside and enjoy the view of the Catalinas.
I noted that the volume was good. We were outside which is my preference for sound levels. We only had entrees and all were good. I wasn’t very hungry and my HUGE salad was overwhelming. I was glad to share it with my husband. They have a consistently good kitchen and the one time we had a less than stellar experience (a couple years ago) I called the next day, told them about the problem and it does appear that it has been fixed. When I have a complaint, It’s not because I want something for nothing; it’s because I want them to get better and be their best!
Great food great service
The staff was tremendous. The location was OK. The view was very nice from the patio area. The lunch menu was not extensive, but adequate. The food was good and the sweet potato fries were the best ever. There was a very reasonable split plate charge of only $1.00. The portions were generous.
Took friends from out of town. Loved the salads and the chefs board
I studied the online menu for Harvest before I went, and was eager to see if the restaurant lived up to it's billing. To say I wasn't disappointed is a gross understatement. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms weren't packed, but there weren't many open tables, a testament to its popularity. The food was excellent! My French onion soup was sweeter that what I'm used to(?the onions, stock) but it was delicious to the point of peeling the baked cheese from the side of the bowl to eat. I ordered the pork tenderloin caprese. The generous portions of pork, while substantial enough to cut with a knife, melted in my mouth. I love angel hair pasta, and the sun dried tomatoes, capers and garlic blended perfectly in honey balsamic sauce was a taste treat. My partner is vegan and the large Harvest salad(without the feta) was a meal itself for her. Though the main course was certainly sufficient, I HAD to try a dessert. It came dow to a choice between the triple chocolate cake and carrot cake. I chose the carrot (my partner's favorite) and though the slice was very generous, and we were fairly full, we ate the whole thing. I'm used to carrot cake being heavy, but this was lighter than what I would have thought and of course, delicious! The front attendant said it had been freshly baked and delivered 3 hours before from their own bakery at their other location, and I certainly believe it. My partner's Pinot noir was very good and my house brewed ice tea was full bodied even in a glass full of ice, and not bitter. Same with the coffee we had with the carrot cake. To sum up, I have a new favorite restaurant, and there were many other items on the menu which I can't wait to try. The prices are not cheap, but also not overly expensive, and by any standard worth every penny. So, by all means, try it!
We love Harvest. However, this time there were just too many people there. We sat outside as we felt it would be quieter but it was quite busy and noisy. Service was ok given the volume of people but not the norm of good service. Food was tasty as always! Will have to consider what nights and times we go there.
Great food and service. The patio is lovely, but loud.
Excellent dining experience. Wonderful food. I am a fan of the fish tacos - always good. The two others at the table loved their burgers with fries. They were especially pleased that the burgers were prepared to their requests.
We were introduced to Harvest by friends and at the first opportunity we went back with out of town guests. The food and service were consistently good both times. It’s one of our new favs!
The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We enjoyed our evening.
We ate outside on the enclosed patio and in spite of the chilly weather we were warm! There are you Bethesda heaters! Brilliant. The food is always fresh and delicious! And the dessert! As yummy as they look!!!
The food was excellent and our server was a sweetheart. We felt she was too rushed. Maybe there should be more servers when the snow birds are back in town.
The food has fallen in quality severely. I have always loved the fish and chips at Harvest. This time the fish was just barely warm and had to have been sitting in a steam table of on the counter to be served for too long of a time period. The fish was basically two plump fish sticks. Fries were skimpy and dried up. Cabbage slaw was just o.k.
What has happened to decent fries and good fish?
We've dined at the Harvest many times but this Sunday night was awesome. The specials were the "Bomb" Co fish and fries and their slow roated short ribs may be the best in town.
We were seated in the covered outdoor area and the noise level was distracting. Tables very close together. Next time, we'll request indoors.
Maybe it was a because it was the Saturday of Valentine's Day weekend -- BUT, the service was incredibly slow, and my wife's salmon was so salty she couldn't eat it.
They have a great happy hour and the the cauliflower tacos are delicious. Also the salmon on the main dinner menu is very good as well.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Loved my salmon.
Great food and exceptional service from Rosa.
It was a Saturday so they were busy. Long wait to get our food. Also waiter told us bread was on the way, but it never came. Food was good and waiter was friendly.
The food was simply amazing. I had the most simple meal - the Harvest salad and soup of the day, and both were perfect. I don't usually like dressing on my salad because most of the time the result is dressing delivered on lettuce you can't taste, but not this salad. The dressing was just a hint, evenly distributed and complementing the natural flavors of the other ingredients. The black bean soup was perfectly cooked so the beans were still distinct but soft, with other ingredients like carrot slivers giving it unexpected occasional texture. The table bread and cherry butter might have been my favorite - I ate a whole basket by myself.
The food is always so fresh tasting. Our only complaint with the Harvest is the noise level. It's sometimes difficult to have a conversation.
The food was great and the service was excellent. I loved the short ribs dinner
Friends in from out of town! Excellent Saffron turmeric pasta, short ribs and g Co on salad with Salmon
I recently moved to the Tucson area so this was my first time at Harvest. The food didn’t disappoint, we had the short ribs entree. It was delicious, then we had the carrot cake for dessert. We will be returning soon!
Sat outside where less noisy but heaters worked great. Loved our dinner
Noisy for lunch. Service slightly slow but entrees good
We have been here before , but tonight was a huge disappointment. My wife has allergies. We went because they have made dishes for her before. Tonight, they announced they had changed the dishes she want and pre-marinated the fish and meat in corn/soy oil (which she is allergic to). This was disappointing and the manager did not seem to care very much. I am surprised a “farm to table” restaurant cannot work around standard allergies. They could only offer her one option. I doubt we will be back.
Great food and service. Fairly noisy and not a bargain.
Best visit yet. Service was awesome. The food was wonderful. During the winter it would be wise to get a reservation.
Food was very good. Nothing special. Service was slow to start. Took time to get water and menus and it was not that busy. Overall it was good
The food and service was excellent! It has a great "neighborhood" feel to it and is a regular for us when we are in the area. We have never been disappointed. The menu has many good options from Burgers/Salads to excellent entrees and desserts.
They also handled my wife's difficult allergies (Gluten, dairy, corn, soy) very well and provided several good options. They made some special dishes for her which she really enjoyed.
We will go back....
We've been to Harvest several times recently. The service is consistently good, and the servers are very friendly without overdoing it. The food is very good and the menu has enough diversity to suit us. The wine list is better than one would expect.
