Last night we went to Harvest looking forward to a nice meal. I was looking forward to the fried chicken, but what we got was a burnt chicken breast and before I could complain, the server disappeared for 20 minutes. Very disappointing. I wish I had complained, but didn't have the occasion.
I always try to hit up Harvest when I am in town and I am never disappointed! I was here during Derby, so the menu was limited and the tables were really packed in but it was still phenomenal.
Great food, great service, farm to table and a flight of Pappy Van Winkle made this experience an outstanding adventure. Staff is welcoming. We could actually have a conversation and so good I went back 2 days later on Saturday and it was just as good and servers were awesome. Highly recco
Service was great! Our server was very pleasant and attentitive . Food was great! Will definitely go back
The buttermilk fried chicken is my go to, but everything is delicious.
Our daughter had eaten at Harvest on a previous visit to Louisville. So, we went on her reccomendations. The food was delightful and had a good experience. The three cheese grits were especially good. The one thing they need to improve is the lighting. It was just a little dim.
Took some close friends to Harvest for a meal before Actor's Theater. The Bourbon flight was a wonderful way to start the evening, even for non-bourbon drinkers. The group had different entre's and each was very nicely presented and very tasty. Meal was filling but not too much so.
My husband and I went here for my birthday dinner. It is one of our favorites but with two little kids we don't get to go often. We love their locally sourced seasonal menu. This time was the best yet! The Marti Gras themed appetizers and drinks were great! We enjoyed at hurricane and a Manhattan like drink. The red beans and rice were exceptional! The shared a house salad and ordered the New York strip and canollini. Both were an expert mix of robust flavors! We left too full for dessert.
I had emailed that we were coming for the first time and we were CELEBRATING my sisters
birthday. The hostess's were aware but no one bothered to translate that to our server. She
immediate dropped of the check and said "Thank you". I didn't even have the opportunity
to tell her why we were there. I guess my expectations were too high. We both had the fried
chicken dinner and that was good. Needless to say I was disappointed and not sure that i
Surprising shortage of vegetarian options. I'd think with the farm to table focus, there would be more vegetarian meals, but then again, it is winter. Food was good, but not great and prices were on the high side for what we got.
My friends and I ate here, before going to a play @ KY Center for the Arts. The food was outstanding! I recommend the Buttermilk Chicken with the Hoecake and gravy. It was unbelievably delicious! I threw in a side of Jalapeño Cheese Grits, and that really topped off my whole dinner. These have to be the best grits, I have ever had. Watch out, the grits are pretty spicy! I loved them! I am looking forward to returning to Harvest, very soon.
A nice place to just relax with friends. Menu/food is somewhat unusual, but usually good. Nice service.
Great lunch spot. Fresh ingredients from local farms are creatively crafted into delicious entree options. Had the fried green tomato po boy sandwich which was very good.
Harvest is a great restaurant! The food is amazing. You can taste the care they put into the perpetration of their food.
Harvest presents a delighful menu and warm caring service in an enjoyable venue. Locally grown, innovative and creative cuisine to savor. Get there soon, but don't take my table !
This was our first time to the Harvest. We heard it was a good restaurant, but it exceeded all our expectations. The staff was super nice and very informative of the menu. We ordered different dishes from the menu to taste an assortment of the food offered, and not one person in our group was disappointed. The owner stopped by our table extremely friendly and explained the background of the restaurant. Everyone in our group said they would go back. Definitely will be on our list of favorites
Harvest has a great concept going. Good local food, superior service staff, simple decor that "compliments" the food. One of the owners even came around to our table and explained the concept of Harvest. I was a bit hesitant reviewing the menu online, but it turned out fantastic!
Party of 6, reserved a table the morning of the meal online. Wrong app came out and some of the items were mixed up on the check.
The food was absolutely amazing. I did get approached by a guy outside that asked me for money. Not at all the restaurants fault, more of a community fault. Made me feel uneasy about leaving my car parked outside after telling the guy to get lost. I plan on many more visits in the future. Was nice one of the owners came to the table and talked to us. Friendly staff for sure.
My french toast was dry. I didnt finish it, it was not good.
There was a type of cole slaw on the plate of the omelete, unusual and not enticing me to try it.
The place is very clean. Waitress was nice. Parking was easy.
Unimpressed with the food.
Lunch was excellent - service was wonderful and menu items were great choices. Only change I'd suggest is giving a bit more meat in the sandwiches. Two at our table had the grilled cheese with pork and there was a lot more bread to 'stuff'' ratio. A bit more pork would be welcome.
Any visitor to Louisville, and any resident who doesn't already know about Harvest, should definitely make it a frequent "go-to" spot. Virtually every bit of food on the plates was sourced from farms within a 30-minute drive of the restaurant. Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed the seared pork chops (best thing on my menu!), flank steak, Kentucky burgoo and -- a unique collection -- the BBQ board. It was evident that all entrées were prepared with a large dash of TLC. Very creative kitchen. This one is on our HIGHLY RECOMMENDED list and a place we look forward to visiting again on our next trip to the blossoming NuLu restaurant scene. We'll definitely be back!
We went for NYE. Harvest is always a favorite. The food is always good and the decor charming.
The NYE menu was not as good as the regular menu. We also felt rushed. We will continue to go back, however. Love this place.
We very much enjoyed our lunch at Harvest. Our server was very friendly and attentive and answered all of our menu questions. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. The portions were generous.
Harvest is a locavore's dream, offering mealds featuring nearly all ingredients from within a 100 mile radius. I had the flank steak, which happened to be tender and flavorful. Of course, the bar features many artisan bourbon drinks. Our meal was served by an attentive, funny and knowledgeable staff. We will keep coming back!
Harvest's Sunday brunch is always delicious and full of fresh and beautiful options. I usually choose the omelet which changes constantly and is bursting with yummy meats and unusual veggies but today I had one of the specials. It had cheese grits, crispy country ham, a delicious biscuit and sunny side up egg on top. The presentation was beautiful and the meal was excellent. We are always pleasantly surprised with the creativity of the culinary staff at Harvest. Although we come to Harvest often we never get tired of the food, the atmosphere or the staff. Each dining experience is new and fresh.
So so lunch. Overpriced for the quality, wait, and flavor.
Great food with excellent service in a warm setting. Fried chicken, canelloni, and the burger were great.
Fantastic bourbon selection with every conceivable flavor.
We will return if we visit Louisville again.
I have touted Harvest over the years as having the best burger in town. Then in July they removed it from the menu, I tried the BBQ platter and was very disappointed. Upon my better judgment I returned for lunch on Friday 12/12 and remembered a very delicious grilled cheese that they served. Looks like the menu item was changed once again. I tried the Grilled cheese and it was one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. There was barley any cheese on it, the pork was flavorless and the bread was the majority of the sandwich. I will never return to Harvest, I don't understand how some of the best items continue to be removed. I have tried several other items and for the price, they don't measure up. I was once a huge promoter of this restaurant and now I will no longer be a patron.
I went to Harvest Restaurant for a nice, leisurely lunch for one. Decided to treat myself before finishing some local shopping. Greeted warmly and seated promptly. The lunch menu was filled with tempting selections. I decided on the cup of burgoo and grilled cheese/barbeque sandwich. Wow was I impressed. The burgoo was delicious and beautifully presented. The grilled cheese sandwich was outrageous! The bread delicious and toasted perfectly. The cheese and barbeque center was really, really tasty. The portion was so large that I took half home and had it for breakfast the next morning. Harvest continues to provide interesting and delicious food time after time.
Really Harvest is a great place. I went for the first time for lunch after going several times for dinner and honestly I didn't think it could be any better but it was. I had the Fried Green Tomate BLT and I embarrassed myself I ate so much. Service was great. Atmosphere top notch. Everyone should try this place. This is the kind of place that should be impossible to get a reservation to.
Harvest for brunch is absolutely a hit every time. Had company in from out of town and knew Harvest would pull out all the stops. Greeted warmly at the door and promptly seated. Service is always very good. The variety on the menu is fabulous and servers provide valuable recommendations. The presentation and freshness of the food is top notch. Price is very reasonable. The Bloody Marys are always excellent. Harvest is one of our absolute favorites. Owners and management genuinely care that you are dining with them.
I went for lunch with my significant other. My initial visit was when they first opened a few years ago and I was not impressed. This visit was better. Food was excellent, I had the burgoo and a salad. The portions should be larger for the price in my opinion. I had a good cocktail, and it better be good for $10. I would recommend with caveat that food and drink is pricey. I do wish they had entree style meals for lunch also, it's just sandwiches and starters/salads.
The food, service, environment, etc. were all outstanding. Owners of the restaurant, local farmers, actually come by the table to welcome you, ask for your feedback, tell you their story (if you are interested). I will definitely be back.
The brunch menu at Harvest may be limited, but rest assured that everything there is delicious. The "grits 'n goo" was perfect and the sorghum cookie (dessert) was the perfect amount of sweetness for brunch.
I'm a burger fanatic, and judge the quality of a restaurant based on the apparent skill and care shown in their offering. The Harvest burger is one of the best burgers of my life. It all starts with the meat. It had flavor! Which, oddly, can be a rare thing. But what constitutes caring are the condiments and bread. The sweet potato relish pushed this burger over the top. And, I think I'm going to need to pickle onions at home. The bread was firm and tasty, not falling apart through the meal. Additionally, they have a well represented sampling of local and regional beers. I was just passing through on a pleasure trip, but will travel this route again many times in the future. Harvest is worth a stop.
Probably my last visit. After having made my reservation weeks in advance, we were seated in the door of the kitchen and the noise was such that we had difficulty hearing our own conversation with the music playing. Every server had to pass our table and brushed against us in the process.
If I make an early reservation, I fully expect to be seated in a great spot. Did not happen and I should not be expected to request another.
We had a great start to the evening, probably because we had eary resesrvations (attended prior to a show). The wine we chose was on special that night but we didn't know it at first. The food was exceptional and so was the service until they got very busy. There was a long gap between appetizers and the main course, but the server was sympathetic. All in all, we were very pleased.
I took my wife to Harvest for her birthday and the entire experience could not have been any better. The staff was helpful and polite, the food was fresh and delicious and the drinks were great as well. We will definitely revisit Harvest and I encourage others to give this place a try.
Harvest was a nice change from cookie cutter restaurant menus. Most food is locally grown. Combinations were tasty and interesting. One of the owners was circulating the room and explaining origin of restaurant.
I took a colleague from another country here to impress her with our local restaurants. We had a quiet place to talk and that was the best thing about this place. The menu did not have much that wasn't fried, pork, chicken livers, etc--hence not very healthy. The server wasn't quite sure if the chicken was free range. We ordered salads and were brought our main courses when only halfway through our salads. We were asked to pay right after we finished our meal, which was awkward and embarrassing. I would not recommend taking anyone there whom one wants to impress.
