Took my wife here for Valentines Day. We were both pleasantly surprised. Postmark served us amazing food and the server recommended the perfect matching drinks. Walked away impressed and happy.

Our Postmark experience was, again, marred by circumstances that we're only partially aware of: It would seem the restaurant was significantly understaffed for the evening. Yet, what was most confusing, was that we arrived at 6:15 PM and told our server we had concert to attend at 8:00 PM (about a two-minute walk from Postmark). At the one-hour to go point, we reminded the server we had one-hour before we needed to leave.

The appetizer arrived -- excellent. Our salads arrived, also excellent. We ordered a beer, two signature cocktails and a $50 bottle of wine. The drinks took a bit longer than would be expected to arrive -- but the signature cocktails were excellent and the beer and wine were also exceptional.

We had ordered (for a party of three): Trout, Chicken, and Filet Mignon entrees, off the menu. We're confident they would have been excellent, but they never came. We had to leave for our concert at 7:55 PM. We paid our $130 tab plus a 20% tip (the server, we believed, was not at fault for the "Slow Food" preparation. For us, there were two failures: The server did not tell us the meal could not be ready in time; and, we had somewhat of a similar "failure to finish" in September of 2017. The food, environment, ambiance, service, and noise level are, overall, excellent. This experience was so off-putting that one of our party said: "never again." I'm willing to give them another try as the place has its charms and the food when it comes, is very good to excellent. In short: Be guided appropriately.

Well, that was mediocre.

Where do I begin—
How about a fixed price four course limited menu. It would have been nice if this was mentioned on the Open Table web site when I booked the reservation. If it was just my wife and I, it may not have been a big deal. But, we had an 11 year old in tow—$75 for a four course meal was not going to work for a kid only interested in a salad and an entree. Oh! Our server nixed the idea of anything other than the fixed menu... At 6:45pm, finding an alternate restaurant was really not an option, so let's make the best of it, we thought. Share and share, alike.

Continued—
We had the least attentive, driest personality server on the floor. Hands down. Maybe she was new. Add to that the lag time between courses and, well, we are headed down hill and picking up speed.

Then, there's food—
Which was okay. Probably not as good as the kitchen thinks... I do have question—why was my wife's steak stacked on a pork belly when I indicated to our server we don't eat pork? Oh, well. Dessert was very good, though!

Final Curtain—
On the way out, I mentioned the experience GM, Steve. He asked for details. I gave them. Steve blessed me with the Millenial sorry/not really, though.

This restaurant has been good in the past.
Not sure what happened...

The salmon was delicious without being too rich. Our waiter was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. The wines we chose were fantastic. We live close by and will definitely take friends here again before going to the theater.

We had visited Postmark after it first opened last summer and were thoroughly pleased to see that some of the slight problems that go with new openings were ironed out! We love Chef Berstein’s Oakley Restaurant, Redfeather and knew Postmark would also be a wonderful option.
We highly recommend this neighborhood gem in the gaslight district in Clifton. Our waiter, Jeremy was very knowledgeable and well trained. The wine selection is lovely and they pour a perfect martini!
We highly recommend Postmark especially after a movie at the Esquirer around the corner! Perfect evening!

The food is superb in flavor and presentation, though the duck should have been hotter when served at the table. The green salad and cabernet vinaigrette were also excellent despite a too-small portion for the price charged. Expect a noisy room as the evening moves on. Even with these caveats we will be back.

Loved Postmark! I went with a friend and we both loved everything we ordered. The prosciutto in my salad was the best I have ever had. The shrimp scamp small plate was perfectly seasoned and just the right size for a light meal. Best of all the prices are extremely reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. It has a great neighborhood restaurant vibe. Our server was knowledgeable and prompt. We'll definitely be back!

We went here before a show at Live at the Ludlow Garage. It is a cute restaurant but really expensive for what it is. The wine prices are very expensive ($10 for a small pour of wine) and our meals were around $35 each. There was no bread before the meal, nothing. Just bare bones. So with each a glass of wine, meal and shared dessert we spent $120. Had it been more of an experience I wouldn’t mind but it seemed like nothing special at those prices and little ambiance. The food itself was good. Small portions. I wouldn’t need to go back.

The food was excellent. My husband's Steak Diane was tender and very tasty. The sweet potato agnolotti were in a wonderful sage cream sauce that I loved. They could double the amount and serve as an entrée.
Steak tartare was a nice portion with accompaniements. The meat could have been seasoned a little more heavily, but still very good.
Our server was knowledgable and funny. Nice guy.
We were in the small room to the right of the front door. Freezing cold, even with two space heaters running. I won't make the mistake of agreeing to be seated there again.

Had been in the building thru its previous tenants. This restaurant is not styled for cozy and warm anymore and that was a disappointment. It feels hard and uninviting...kind of stiff.
The food was very good and the service was very good.
Unfortunately the eve we attended it was bitterly cold outside and in and the out of date floor heater was woefully inadequate.
So I don't think I'd return just cause I've been there and done it and have so many other choices that have more appeal. Good luck and Thank you!

Seriously overpriced. The meal was fine but we (a party of four) were shocked at the bill. I can think of a dozen restaurants in this town where I can get a better meal and not feel I've been held up. We'll never go back.

On-Line menu not representative of actual menu. Halibut on-line $29, actual $36. Halibut served with a layer of gelatinous something (?) on the bottom - not tasty. Key Lime tart for dessert average at best. 5:30 reservation seated directly next to only other couple in restaurant = odd and restaurant was practically empty when we left at 6:30 = makes initial seating even more odd. Tough night costing $160 including tip.

Although the food at Postmark was above average, the experience was quite confusing. The menu begins with what is titled "First Paragraph." My guests and myself assumed these items were appetizers and, as a result, ended up sharing what were actually salads. Even these were strange salads - a circle of browned but very COLD goat cheese, misleadingly described as "brulee." A section entitled "Salutations" could be found at the END of the menu ... with no prices. We later decided these were the appetizers - but why were they placed at the bottom of the menu, and were they ... free? Our server, although polite and attentive, made no effort to explain the menu or steer us in the right direction. A last note: one of my guests order the French onion soup. He said it was delicious but was still nursing his burnt mouth the next day. Granted, French onion soup will be hot, very hot, but this was scalding and remained so until the end of the meal. In retrospect, I feel as if I never really fully experienced what Postmark has to offer and, although we could have asked questions for clarification, remain still somewhat angry that we were left to flounder through the menu on our own.

This is the third time we've been to Postmark for dinner. It's a great neighborhood location. We enjoyed the cheese board and appetizers to start. The main dishes, especially the fish, were delicious. The service continues to be surprisingly unknowledgeable. Our server didn't know which cheeses on the cheese board were which or how the tapenade was incorporated in the beef entree. For the prices of the entrees, we expect more professionalism from the staff. We will be back, but not too soon.

I was very much looking forward to PostMark - but did not know they had live music. We were moved to the smaller room on the right, but still the music was too loud - and there was also background music that was also too loud - as were the guys next to us. The risotto was very good but was served in an immense dish that had a little indented space at the bottom, and the risotto was in that little space. Seemed quite pretentious. The server was lovely and tried to get the noise down and brought us complimentary dessert.
