Wonderful meal from start to finish!
Such a lovely experience enjoying a thoughtful and beautiful meal crafted by passionate artists.
This was our second time to dine at Harvest Beat; and once again, it did not disappoint. We were a table of four. Three of us had the wine pairing and one of us had the non alcoholic pairing. The menu, as before, is creative. Each of the multiple courses were beautifully plated. The food was absolutely wonderful. The pairings worked well. The service was attentive and the noise level was low. This special restaurant with it's creative and tasty vegan menu, is a real find. Highly recommended.
Unique, beautiful, creative, great experience would definetly go back again.
Fabulous in all ways. The proprietors provide a special and memorable dining experience. Food brilliant, service, ambiance — all of it. Fun too.
Food and people are excellent. A 'good deal' for this caliber of food in Seattle.
The service, food, care for the ingredients and the values of the owners was fantastic. If we lived in Seattle, this would be a restaurant I’d go back to. The two slightly negative aspects was the ambiance - it was cold, and the price. While the food was amazing and great care was taken in every detail, I feel like the price is high.
The best vegan food in Seattle. Farm to Table menu is creative and delicious. Chef is willing to share information about how to cook the dishes if requested. The staff is SO fun and helpful. Sitting at the bar is the best sit in the restaurant...get there a bit early to get those seats. A really special place for a night out.
Most vegetarian places seem to try to imitate meat. Harvest Beat does not. Each course surprised with multiple individual tastes that melded together into something different. Only quibble i had was that the "whip cream" on the dessert was more or a "meringue". Wine pairings went well with the food but really enjoyed the raspberry wine that came with the dessert.
The staff is friendly and kind. The food is delicious and nuanced. What a wonderful experience!
The food was ok, not outstanding, the portions were small. My son, 22, was still hungry after the 4 courses (before the dessert)...
The meal was not as innovative and inspired as we could expect and did absolutely not match the bill that we paid. The small squash and apple salad was tasteless.
The sweet cake potato was overcooked, too dry.
The Tamale (closer to a thick cannelloni) and the main course, was ok, another one would have made it closer to a main course.
The dessert, a heavy chocolate torte with 0 subtlety, very disappointing. And despite the assurance of the person who described the menu, the "whipped cream" did taste Garbanzo bean juice (aqua fava).
I am not sure we will be back and it is too bad,
Service was so friendly and the seasonal food was amazing - nothing like what I could or would make at home, which is what I am looking for in an expensive restaurant experience. The space itself feels casual with a big open kitchen, the tables were set elegantly. I could have eaten more, but I normally eat bigger portions than a tasting menu offers.
Harvest Beat was a wonderful, fun, thoughtful, whimsical vegan meal. Compliments to all involved in the cultivating, preparing and serving of this meal.
This is the second time i've been to Harvest Beat, and once again I was pleasantly surprised. The perfect atmosphere, perfect amount of food, and delicious flavors make it a perfect date night spot.
I'm not a vegan, but my girlfriend is, and this place was recommended by a buddy of mine, so thought she'd appreciate it.
Upon reading the reviews, it was apparent that the food was excellent, but a couple of the reviews mentioned that they left hungry. On the way there, I only half-jokingly told me girlfriend she might need to take me to Dick's afterwards.
I was very pleasantly surprised. As expected, the food and service were excellent, and while each course was a bit smaller than I'm used to eating, the total amount of food for the 5 delicious courses, combined with the leisurely pace with allowed for a feeling of satisfaction and contentment without being overfull.
Tasty food, great service, a deep caring for food and its source, and a pleasant atmosphere all work in concert to make this a great dining experience. I didn't even miss the meat!
Given the techniques and ingredients involved the cost is justifiable—always pleasantly surprised and pleased. Mostly a special occasion place because of cost, though. We love it.
This was my second time at Harvest Beat and it was AMAZING this time as it was before. I really wish I could afford to eat here every 3 weeks when the menus change, because the food is always seasonal, local, organic, vegan, and delicious. They easily accommodate my stupid (and severe) gluten intolerance and the cuisine is so delectable even meat eaters will love it. You'll find an atmosphere that is super cozy, community-focused, and yet classy. I can't help but get the wine pairings every time I go because they are so sophisticated and they compliment each course so incredibly well. Two people will spend about $275 for dinner and the wine pairings, so its definitely pricey, but seriously exquisite.
Absolutely no flaws. Food and experience are inseparably linked. Am very excited to try the spring/summer menus.
Very nice vegan dinner
Exceptional, compassionate, friendly, ethical and sustainable vegan fine dining experience. Going back seasonally! This was a perfect way to spend my birthday evening!
Be prepared for something special when you arrive for dinner at this Wallingford neighborhood restaurant specializing in vegan cuisine. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you will be treated like a dinner guest rather than just a customer. Along with the fixed price five course meal, you can order a wine pairing or a non-alcoholic pairing, or you can order your beverages a la carte. We chose to sit at the counter looking into the kitchen so we could watch and chat with the chef. The food is both tasty and beautifully presented. Each course was interesting, delicately seasoned, and satisfying. There were two of us so one of us had the wine pairing and the other had the non-alcoholic pairing. Both pairings were perfect with the food. The service was attentive and friendly. There are lots of good vegetarian, vegan and whole food plant based restaurants emerging on the Seattle food scene these days; Harvest Beat stands out as one of the best of the best. Expensive. Moderate to quiet noise level. Casual attire. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
It's about time a restaurant cares about the environment in every aspect of their business. They are 100% vegan, source the ingredients locally and they are sustainable too. The food was amazing, even though some of the course included ingredients i do not like, I loved every dish. The food was high end, great quality, fresh, complex, and inventive. Even if your not vegan, I recommend trying it. Best food I ever had and I've been a foodie for decades...
Food was really exceptional. The wine pairings were a little expensive for the amount of wine and the quality was pretty good but overall felt overpriced. The presentation at the beginning of the meal was super special and made the night feel really personal and the atmosphere more familial. Would definitely return!
This is our favourite restaurant. We live in Vancouver BC, but make the point to dine here whenever we're passing through Seattle.
Amazing food, served by an enthusiastic staff. Clever uses of local veggies to create a delicious experience.
Great vegan food. Been several times. Never disappointed.
You should go.
Excellent place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Locally sourced food. Vegan made spectacular
Note that neither my wife or I are vegetarians. We went here on a date for a specifically requested "light" meal. The whole evening was fantastic. Entire staff was warm, welcoming and very personable. Before our first course, the chef gave an orientation to the restaurant, menu/food selection and made a point to thank everyone for coming to enjoy the meal. Wines were delicious and thoughtfully paired with each course. The food was nothing short of amazing. The entire experience made the night that much more special. We will be going back.
Amazingly unique menu, high quality ingredients, fantastic presentation and incredibly delicious. The best vegan food in Seattle by far. Portions are more than enough food and the wine pairings were generous and really good too. Next time my partner and I will order 1 wine pairing and 1 elixer pairing--especially if driving! (:
Really an incredible experience. I highly recommend.
This is one of the most interesting and creative restaurants in Seattle. I'm always amazed by the beautiful and delicious dishes, and the wine pairings are awesome and generous.
Amazing food, amazing service, wonderful place!
Best restaurant experience ever.
The best restaurant on the planet. I have eaten at most major restaurants in Duwamish and Muckleshoot territory (referred to as Seattle) having been raised here. This food is the best restaurant-made food I have had in this area of the world. Harvest Beat provides divine food that I wish I could eat every day. Healthy, filling, tasty, well-balanced, beautiful, delicious, local.. However, spendy for anybody who cannot afford a ~$80+ meal, which is most people on the planet. Hopefully, we can shift the economic and agroecological structures so that this type of food is accessible to more people! The world needs food like this.
third time and always a pleasure. chef joe and the team always take care of the guests from the moment you walk in to the moment you depart. we love harvest beat.
My new favorite restaurant ON EARTH! It’s a happening. Food was amazingly presented and flavorful. Staff out of this world. Attention to detail in decor/design. Like no other place.
Keep up the great work chef(s)! Thank you Harvest Beat for your warmness.
This place is my favorite place since I've moved to Seattle. The servers are friendly in the way that it's a welcoming community - not a dinning hall. The head chef gave a speech about the food and where it came from. The transparency was a heart-stealer.
There is a bar that could be sat at to watch the kitchen if one opts to it. I did not but the invite to look into the kitchen was still given for those that are curious on plating presentation and general movement. I recommend giving a peek for those that might learn a trick or two to bring home.
The foods amazing but thats expected. There is a near 5 star rating for a reason. I'd say if a person with a significant other or a special friend is thinking of doing something amazing - do take them here. It was a pleasureful time my other; to the point that she loved this better than any of the prix fixe she had in New York. I talked to the head chef to learn a few of his strategies for imparting flavours and he was delighted to answer the questions. It was an amazing night for us that night.
I have fined at Harvest Beat 6 total times, and each time I am stunned by how delicious each course has been. I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian, and frankly, meat and dairy tend to be my favorites. But, over the past 4 years I believe that all of my Harvest Beat Meals would make my top 10 list. The food is so fresh and lovingly sourced, prepared and plated. It is beautiful without a hint of pretense. I do t even have words for how perfect the menu was this time. I can’t stop fantasizing about that meal, it was exquisite. And on top of that, every person who works at the Beat is warm, welcoming and passionate about the quality of your expand the food they serve. I feel that I meal at Harvest Beat is something you owe yourself because you are so very very good. And if you are bad, you should eat there because it’s probably the change you need to become your best self.
The menu was super delicious. It was my 4th time and I think this dinner was the BEST. The menu changes every three weeks depending on what the local farmers and foragers have in season. Chef Joe and team had prepared the food beautifully and timely. Owner Aaron gave our birthday celebration a personal touch. We'll be back again.
Harvest Beat was an incredible experience. So much passion and care goes into the dining experience, and I can’t wait to go back in a different time of year to see what they do with each season of fresh produce.
