Harvest at The Hotel Hershey Ratings and Reviews
Fabulous brunch with my sister. We shared the baked brie and both had the surf and turf Benedict - everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. I would recommend this place without hesitation and will make plans to return. The service was also friendly and attentive. Excellent all around experience.
Krissa the bartender at the bar was phenomenal, as were the drinks. The dining room was ok - they seated people on top of one another even though it was only half full and Valentines Day. Service there was fine, nothing special. A basic Wednesday for them, I assume. My partner liked his meal (7/10), and mine was ok (5/10).
The food was excellent. We had a group of 10 ladies for Sunday Brunch and everyone loved their dishes. I had the chicken and waffles and split with a friend who had the short rib hash. Both were delicious, but the chicken and waffles was outstanding. The fried chicken was cooked well had the perfect batter making it taste light. The coffee was also great and I heard the morning cocktails were excellent.
Opened at 10am for Sunday brunch and there were very few diners at that hour. We were seated at a window table and far enough away from other diners to have a private conversation. The restaurant boasts local ingredients, farm to table. Food tasted fresh. Brunch menu items were more creative than you typically find. She-Crab soup listed as a signature dish was outstanding. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and good service.
We were able to be seated 15 minutes before our reservation. The meals were adventurous and the service was friendly. I do wish though that it was a bit brighter, as my eyes fluctuated throughout the night between light and dark adjustment. The group of ladies in booth next to us were a bit boisterous, and maybe a little drunk. I enjoy the dinner, but I especially enjoy the breakfast/brunch!
Fish and chips entree included mostly dry and some hard fries. Both diners found the coleslaw was too salty to eat. The fish was very good.
The she crab soup was very good, as was the trout. An unidentifiable food served as part of the entree was satisfactory.
Breads, desserts, etc. were very good, and the "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate, with strawberries was much appreciated.
Food was delicious- rotisserie chicken with baked potato and roasted carrots/parsnips and cocoa-braised short ribs with celery-root gratin and baby carrots. Wines were Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, respectively. Entrees were beautifully prepared, cooked and presented - and served perfectly hot. A truly delicious and satisfying dinner, with excellent service.
I made a reservation for my wife's birthday for 5:30 PM on January 20. The restaurant was empty. Yet we were seated right next to two other tables on bench seating. It felt like we couldn't carry on a conversation since we were seated right in the middle of two other couples, and it was quiet since there were hardly any other people eating at the time. I feel that at that time, with the restaurant being empty, they could have spread out the seating better. And even an hour after we sat down, the restaurant was still fairly empty. I don't understand the rational of this seating arrangement/order.
My husband is an avid Tito's drinker and knows when it is NOT Tito's that is being served. He ordered Tito's on the rocks with a lime and what came out was GIN - very piney in flavor, DEFINATELY NOT TITO'S!! HE mentioned this to the server ( who was also the bartender as they were short staffed) and was told that it was Tito's because he poured it out of the bottle himself.
My husband went up to the bar to order another Tito's on the rocks with a lime and the same server poured it. SAME piney/Gin flavor!
When my husband complained again, the server went and got a new bottle, poured it and presented it to him. This time it was the real deal. Don't want to suggest that bottles are being messed with there but that's what it seams like is happening!
WATCH WHAT YOU ORDER THERE!
We had an 8:45pm reservation on New Year’s Eve. There were no problems with seating at the exact time and the service was great too. My only comment is with the food itself and the loudness of the dining room. My wife had the Trout entree and I had the Hanger Steak. I’m sorry to say that neither dish wowed us in any way. Perhaps just expected more from a somewhat upscale restaurant. The openness of the dining room also leads to loud conversations carrying through out but was New Year’s Eve and people were just having fun. Not sure if it’s always like that.
Harvest is THE place to be with family for the holidays with a beautiful lounge , pool table and attached arcade there's something appealing for everyone. The staff was lovely and service excellent. The food was very tasty . We especially loved the ribs, and dessert trio. Creative cocktails are flavorful and unique.
We are very pleased that we chose Harvest for our annual Christmas/New Year office luncheon! Everyone was very pleased with the meal options and the quality of their food. Our waitress was exceptionally personable to all of our staff and engaged in fun, light hearted banter with us! She helped to make it a very special event for all of us. We did not receive one complaint about any aspect of our event. We hope that we didn't disturb other diners with our fun gift exchange, but many of them joined in our birthday song for one employee and applauded for him afterwards! Everyone left with big smiles on their faces and we couldn't ask for more! Thank you to your hostess, waitress, chefs, and servers!
My company had our annual holiday dinner at Harvest and it was great! Our server and the staff were all super sweet, friendly & offered great menu recommendations. The only reason for the 4 star service I gave was due to the bar service. We sat at the bar prior to being seated at our table. The bartender seemed to need a lesson in hospitality and knowledge of bartending in general. Otherwise,we can't wait to come back again soon!
If you like old, traditional tasteful rooms that hint of money, which I do, Harvest fills the bill. And the kitchen does not disappoint. The menu is sufficiently varied that most people will be able to avoid that special vegetable, sauce, etc. they do not like but others do. As an added benefit, they put a container of water on the table. Excellent! I drink a lot of water and frequently have to ask for more in most restaurants.
Our reservation was for 5:15 PM. The noise level might lower as the hour gets later.
Limited menu, high prices, and very small portions. For her two sides, my daughter asked for double French fries and got about ten fries. I asked the waitress if that was a double order because there were very few sides and she simply responded, “yes.” My vegetable of the day was the four smallest broccoli flowerets I’ve ever seen. In its favor, the food tasted very good.
Fabulous lunch. We had the roast beef sandwich special, one of the burgers (huge), the duck confit salad (favorite dish of the meal), pretzel'crusted calamari, and their soup trio. Everything was fresh and delicious. Better yet was the service. Can't wait to return. Oh, and their dk chocolate martini is so good .... a must - have.
