Friends are still talking about how good the rack of Lamb was.
Give Harest a try. It has a nice setting. Service was good. I had the rack of lamb it was very good and the portion size was great. Loved the creamed spinach. We will be going back.
Harvest is a pleasant enough restaurant with nice ambiance; however, the night our family (party of 6) dined at Harvest, there were a couple opportunities for improvement. Although the staff tried their best it appeared it was understaffed so we waited a bit for prompt refills of cocktails and water, etc. Regarding the food, two in the party ordered shrimp and scallops, and were disappointed that there were only two shrimp and two scallops. The other four were more pleased with their selections. Overall, the value was only fair.
We were staying at the hotel and excited to eat here. The hostess was welcoming. We ordered a bottle of wine and then the dining experience went down hill. The food took forever. Our waitress dropped us flat as we ordered two 18.0 burgers and the pasta dish had only 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. We were asked to almost clean the table ourselves by handing all the dishes and silverware to the waitress who stated the manager OJ would get made if the table was not clean. We did not realize we would have to help clean the table. Definitely not a fine dining experience.
Our dinner before the "American Beatles" show was wonderful. My lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and oh so tasty. The mascarpone mashed potatoes were creamy and I am so happy I am going to make some at home.
My wife's creamed spinach was according to her "the best" she has ever had. I'm hurt but I had a small sample and she was right.
The service from the bar to our wait person I can say they made us feel so welcomed. We will be married 43 years and this was an excellent choice to celebrate the event.
Our server was wonderful! This is the second time we have had her in the past 3 months and she remembered us and her service was just as good as the last time (which caused us to return!) I am so sorry we have forgotten her name (petite brunette with her hair up) I will write down her name for sure and tell others to ask for her!
Service was so unbelievably slow. Our server disappeared for long durations to the point I got up and walked around to find her just to ask for our check. The restaurant was not super busy, there were only 2 of us at our table, and we were there for 3 torturous hours. Food was great but I will never go back. Even if they gave us a free dinner, i still wouldn’t go. . I was so disappointed.
20 minutes after being seated, there was no server in sight, even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. The hostess ended up taking our drink order. Food was excellent, but waitress never stopped back to see if we wanted a 2nd drink.
Valentine’s Day: The specials menu was exceptional.
Wow this place has really gone down hill. Horrible service from a new server that should of had someone shadowing her. This is supposed to be farm to table food tasted like ordinary every day restaurant food. We used to come here for fine dining now it’s like going to any other restaurant. No dress code. So don’t come dressed up for a special occasion. No bus service our waters were not filled. No value for the price. We went there for Valentine’s Day and they had no splits of champagne our reservation was 6:00. They said they ran out but they probably never had it. We ended up buying a whole bottle of champagne that’s probably what they wanted
The service was not good we waited over 25 minutes for a salad.they never brought bread to our table until we finally asked for it.I will not be goin back
This place has had mixed reviews and that was precisely our experience. Undercooked fish. I ate the ends that were cooked through. Everything under-seasoned. Very good wine list for a hotel restaurant. Very nice server-she was so sweet! They took the price of our appetizer off the tab because it came out nothing like the menu description (no rosemary aioli, no garlic herb seasoning-just plain fries!) Vegtables had zucchini ends served to me (stems!) A couple of brussel sprout “petals” in my mixed veg but no actual brussel sprouts.
Almost all food was uninspiring and some was just gross.
Highlights-mushroom appetizer was nice-needed more salt (and I don’t even like salty food). Super friendly waitress. Nice wines!
Odd moment: Buser hovered/stood at the table while I was taking the last bite of my mushroom so he could take my plate.
Would love to give them another chance but don’t want to risk my hard-earned money when I know there are places I can go to that I can consistently get a good meal.
At resort for overnight stay, dinner before show. Everything was very nice. Food, service, ambience all great. Would definitely return
I have been to the Harvest many times and me and my wife love the food and the setting. This weekend we had a 6:30 reservation, were not seated until 7:00, and had 8:00 show tickets. We ordered drinks and food right away and were told they would get our order to the kitchen so there was no problem with the show time. After 20 minutes we had to ask a second time for our drinks. After an hour, we stood up and left without ever getting our dinners. We were told that lamb took a long time to cook so we ordered steaks and fish. We still had no food an hour after we were seated. We had to go to the concert show with no dinner and no possible solution because the restaurant was closed when we got out. Just a terrible overall experience even though I am a fan of the place.
To be honest, our experience was just ok. To their defense (and they told us before we ordered), it was very busy and the staff did the best they could to keep up with the volume.
Our food took about an hour to prepare (they again told us it would take a while), and from a quality standpoint, I would say it was average. We may give them another try given they are very close to home for us, but we're not sure yet.
We had a 5:30 dinner reservation before an 8:00 show at the same venue. The staff was prompt bringing us water and bread before dinner. Because the wrong wine was brought to us, we didn't place our dinner order until 6:00. Soup was served promptly but we did not get our entree until after 7:00. The salmon was good but the vegetables were cold. We chose not to send the order back because we didn't know how long it would be before we would see our order again. We don't blame the server but there must have been major problems in the kitchen. We've noticed this same problem mentioned in previous reviews but management does not seem to have solved the issue. We are glad we allowed extra time so that we were not late for the show as some other people were.
We were seeing a show at the theatre next door.... The food was good, it was prompt and the portions were quite big.... Very Happy about this place....
We waited at least 20 minutes for the witches to show up at our table we wait another 20 minutes to get our drinks when the food came out it was cold after another 40 minutes service was terrible
My parents went and they said everything was great. My dad had the prime rib and said it was delicious.
Good for a meal before Zanies comedy club which is right next door. They pride thenselves on fresh local ingredients and it can be tasted in their food. Be careful, we arrived at 6pm for a Zanies show at 7 30 and they showed us a limited menu to make sure we make the show. From other reviews i detect the service can be slow but we had no problem. Stay away from the prime rib. It was a bit chewy.
Good service, very good food and very pleasant interior. Would visit again.
The food was excellent but there seemed to be a problem with the service the night we were there. We had a reservation for 6:30 and tickets for the show at 8:00. We were seated at 6:40 and the server took our drink order and when the drinks arrived she took our dinner order. By 7:30 we were still waiting for our food. At 7:45 the manager came over and offered to comp our meal if we wanted to go to the theater come back for dinner another time. Our food arrived 5 minutes later so we ate fast so we could make the show, which was right next door. We asked for the check when the food arrived and when we finished eating we were told the meal was comped and we only had to pay for drinks. Everyone was very nice and apologetic. We still made it next door to the theater just as the show was getting ready to start. All in all, it was a very hectic experience and it was very nice of them to comp our meal. We have eaten there a number of times and this was the first time we experienced any type of problem. Like I said, the food was excellent and we will go back for dinner another time.
Service was a little slow. They were short staffed but sometimes it felt like we never seen our server. Food was good. I would return
WE had an enjoyable dinner and the food and service were both very good. The only thing that I was not happy with was when we made our reservation. We wanted a 6:00PM reservation and open table said they only had 5:30 or 6:30. When we got there at 5:30 there were only two other tables with people at them and by 6:00 there were probably four tables with people at them and nothing bigger than a party of four. So. I'm very confused as to why we could not get a reservation at 6:00 when there were countless tables open.
Excruciatingly slow service. Wife's filet was under cooked and cool when it came out. Plate was very hot so it had been sitting before being brought to the table. Asparagus was cold. Fish was good temperature wise but was dry and very small for the price. Never Again!
French Onion soup was great, steak was over cooked and dry. Service was good.
Not what it used to be. I was there with family 10 years ago. It was more like a fine dining experience. Service, ambiance and food have all suffered. I will not return to the restaurant or the resort. It is shabby and dated. Sad to see something that was once great become so dismal.
Harvest is the best kept secret in St. Charles. The food is always great and the atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing. We often go to the bar before or after dinner for a cocktail because we know and adore the bartender. So glad the theater is back thanks to the Arcada taking it over.
I booked on open table & the server knew it was my birthday but did not offer me a free dessert.
Very disappointing.
Great service and great food! It is quiet as well so you don't hear the hussel and bussel of the hotel/comedy club.
The wait time on our meal was very slow, the waitress brung me the wrong drink had to send the steak back
Everything for the night turned out great. The food was very good, the filet being cooked perfectly. My wife also said her chicken was excellent.
On the whole, food was bland and/or over-sauced. While some of it was good, like the charcuterie, the rest was mediocre. For the price, we expected much better. Maybe we're spoiled from dining in Chicago.
Excellent Prime Rib. When I am not there I am at home dreaming about the Prime Rib!
We really like the food, but the service was poor. We could feel the stress of the staff. It was 6PM on a Saturday so I know they were getting busy. We were asked if we wanted dessert before we ordered our entree. Also, we sat there for about 20+ minutes trying to flag down our waitress to order more drinks. The service was much better the last time we came, so maybe they were understaffed. Either way, I would still recommend giving this place a chance. We both had the Filet and it was very good.
We ate here for our anniversary and was told we could pick a dessert to have since we were celebrating our anniversary. I assumed this meant the dessert would be free. We ended up ordering 2 desserts and was billed for both of them. The food was ok, but needed more seasoning.
We went there for dinner before the Buckinghams concert on 9/9/17.
Don't let the outside of the place deter you. Yes, it's a bit dated, but you enter the restaurant through the very spacious bar. Once you enter the eating area, its like you have been taken back to the elegant supper clubs of days past.
The decor is very clubby, in a good way. We had an intimate table for two.
The service is second to none. Our server was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and she suggested a wonderful wine to pair with the excellent Prime Rib. The dinners came out just as ordered, accompanied by delicious mashed potatoes and mixed veggies.
The rolls came with regular and honey infused butter. I could have eaten the whole basket!
As we had tickets to the Buckinghams concert in the adjacent theater, our waitress was mindful of the time constraints and made sure everything come out in short order.
You will enjoy the ambiance of this wonderful restaurant and attentive staff.
We will be coming back there each time we enjoy a concert in the Theater.
Place was clean, food was good a little small on portions, limited wine selection but we found two bottles we liked , service was very good and perfect on timing. Place is a little dated but cozy and not loud.
My husband and I went here for date night. We ordered the meat and dairy tray for starters, it was dried apricots, green bar olives and lunch meat. The cheese has such a rubbery skin on it, it barely spread. I had the hanger steak and the flavor was good, but it was very grisly. My husband had the schnitzel, it was very dry and the egg on top I'm assuming was to add moisture by being cooked runny, but that too was over cooked and didn't help. For it being recommended as romantic and great for a date maybe they should rethink the blaring early 2000's pop music. Our server was very nice, but overall I will never go back or recommend to anyone.
Our server Jeanette was outstanding! But our food left much to be desired with the price tag so high. The red velvet waffles were the best thing we ate!
