Harvest at Homestead
The Harvest culinary team pulls from Tennessee culture--and from our inherited legacy of culinary generosity--to bring friends & family together over expertly executed dishes. This is the Marshall’s take on a farm-to-fork restaurant that curates fine food from ingredients plucked straight from our backyard plots.
*Brunch: Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am-3:00pm
Please note the Glass House Bar is 18+
Food and service were very good. Staff was nice and helpful. One thing, we made a reservation and had to wait while others who walked in got sat before us. We were seated pretty quickly after and like I said before the food and our server were great so it more than made up for having to wait.
Terrible inexperienced server. Sausage balls, steak and risotto were terrible- bland and no flavor.
Harvest at Homestead is a wonderful historic location making it a very interesting dining experience. The food is grown on site and prepared beautifully and deliciously. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Lovely dinner experience
However we have dined 2x in the last month
Each visit one of the main entree were sold out !
Having reservations for dinner at 7:15
With new friends
Loved dinning up stairs
The access to the porch was an awesome addition to our
Our server could have been a bit on top of the cocktail menus
He said he was unsure a couple times
We will try again ❤️
Not pleased at all. I had the ribeye which was somewhat flavorful but way too much fat/gristle. Mashed potatoes ok. My date had chicken which was presentable but really had to get to. One big clump with not much sauce. Butter biscuits were cool. Bacon jam and pimento was good. We asked for salt and pepper early on but didn't receive them until just about finished. Just not what i would expect with fine dining.
What a cool historic place to have dinner. Will do again!
Historic mansion with on-site and local grown food. While it's not the quietest environment, the photos and décor in each room is unique and intriguing. The food was very tasty and well prepared; the salad was very fresh. Our waiter was young but very thorough and attentive as well as offered recommendations about the entrees. The porches and bar make for great places to relax and talk and the grounds are an interesting walk. For special occasions or a date, this is a good choice.
We live nearby and had always wanted to visit. On our 39th wedding anniversary, we made reservations and went. My wife ordered scallops and they were excellent — amazing. I ordered the bourbon glazed duck and it was disappointing. The glaze was nice and it looked great but the chicken was very dry and tough. I said nothing because we were enjoying our time together and it seemed wrong to send things back and complain. The wait staff explained how Homestead gets the food they serve and that was really interesting. All of them seemed nice and ready to serve but they weren’t over the top with plastic smiles and constant interruptions. We liked that.
Very slow service and poor hospitality.
Enjoyed many meals, at the homestead, during past 2 years! This experience was different from previous occasions. My wife’s meal was very good as was the salad. However, my steak was tuff with uneven texture! A 36 dollar should have been more enjoyable , glen
Ultimately the food left a lot to be desired. As did the cocktails. The grounds are so beautiful that I would return only for that. We both ordered a specialty cocktail- when they arrived they were warm. I asked for water when we sat down, then when we ordered cocktails, and again when we ordered dinner. I got it mid-way through the appetizer. The ap was good if average. Baked ricotta. Wife is gluten intolerant so we asked for some veggies instead of bread and we got those for a $2 upcharge. No big deal. When the entrees came, right on top of the ap wifes cauliflower risotto was so salty that it was inedible. I am a salt lover so I thought right she was overreacting, but I took a bite and cringed. When we sent it back the server said it was because the chef used veggie broth instead of a buttermilk mixture because of the gluten issue. No problem but no one tasted it? she ordered a spring salad that she said was very good. The house itself is stunning and the grounds are beautiful. All in all I had high hopes for the food and drinks lots of potential here- but it was a miss.
My girlfriend and I love to eat in the bar. The food never disappoints & tonight I had the cauliflower risotto that was OMG good! I was just returning from a five day trip to the Bay Area & the food tonight was as good as anything I had in Los Gatos, Capitola or Santa Cruz. Happy Hour lasts til 7:00 & we had a bottle of Shiraz from the Barossa Valley for half price! I’ve always found the bartenders to be super nice & tonight was no exception.
We spent Father’s Day brunch at Harvest... it was the best choice! Jessica was amazing and very attentive. Food was fabulous!!! Great atmosphere!
Loved it all! Will be back
We went on a Saturday evening. The evening was enjoyable the room was slightly warm. The food was very good, however a bit pricey for the area. Wine selection is limited. Wait staff was enjoyable and we liked how versed they were in the historical significance of the home. Great evening.
Great food. Great service. Interesting venue. Highly recommend.
We didn’t eat. We were seated in an area we didn’t like. Never had a server come check on us so we just left. They were overwhelmed. I like their food but not sure I’ll be back.
Some of the food was excellent, some was a real miss. The ribeye was thin and lacked flavor and marbling and parts of the chicken were dry. The scallops were top notch and cooked perfectly. All the pork dishes were very good although the portions on the ham and cheese appetizer were not well balanced. The sweet tea was very weak and the fruit tea was grapefruit juice.
The timing was poor. We ordered appetizers at drinks and the meal shortly thereafter and the delay between the two was a bit long. One of the sides for the meal was presented with the appetizer.
At this price point I would have expected every aspect of the experience to be excellent and it was not.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Homestead Manor was the perfect choice for dinner. Our server, Kaleb, was great and the food was incredible! We look forward to going back.
The service was great, the food was impeccable, and we got to tour the house. I highly recommend The Homestead Manor! We will be back!
Great food! Curious why only one person runs the bar. This seems unfair
Food is fabulous. Very creative. We enjoyed the biscuits with bacon jelly and pimento cheese and the southern twist to eggs Benedict. I love the greenhouse bar.
Grounds need upkeep and design, especially as weddings are conductedby there. Lots of potential.
We had an amazing meal at Harvest. It was highly recommended to us by a friend. We were in town celebrating my son’s graduation from new approach school for jewelers. My husband and I both had the cauliflower risotto with hen of the woods mushrooms and a side of grilled vegetables. It was amazing. My oldest son is a sous chef in PA, so we are used to very good, freshly prepared food with fresh local ingredients. There was a very loud group of people next to us and that made it a little uncomfortable, as far as the noise level, but they were being very loud and very rude. I don’t hold it against the restaurant. We probably should’ve asked to be seated elsewhere. Servers were great - very friendly and attentive. Entrees a little pricey but it was a special occasion.
Always amazing. One of my most favorite places to go!!! Until next time....
Loved the venue
Service was a little slow, and uncoordinated
But overall would go back, I liked the historical perspective of the actual house and grounds.
Food was tasty once it arrived :)
Food was excellent, but it took about 40 minutes after ordering to get it. We recommend it, but be prepared to wait for your food.
We were seated quickly in the Bar which is set apart from the main house. It was very quiet and cool. Robin was our server and was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent!
Food was excellent. We were able to get a table same day but we waited an hour for our food.
Food was cold; 40+$ filets were bloody when ordered medium well; rib eye was 33% pure fat and gristle; sides were all cold; grilled vegetables were five pieces of zucchini and nothing else. Not worth even close to the 250 we paid for 4...our money would have been much better spent elsewhere—which is what we willfully as we will not be returning!
They have great food but the service is always so disappointing. Seems to be run by a bunch of young kids. Had a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes for a table...and half of the tables were empty.
First of all, we were regulars and returned for a Mothers Day Brunch. We made reservations and arrived in time but were truly ignored by the reception staff as they appeared to be trying to solve a seating problem for another guest. At least a smile and a nod would do.
Our waitress was wonderful. The baked ricotta with toasted sourdough slices was amazing. The pork and chicken plates were underwhelming at best. Both were overly sweet.
We’ll be looking for another place for date night unfortunately.
We went on Mother's Day and I will not go back. They ran out certain foods. They brought out a wrong dish and would replace it because brunch hours were over. Two different said it was half off wine until 3 but that wasn't the case. All this was going on while the staff was eating Jet's pizza. It used to one of my favorites but I will not ever go back.
Farm fresh excellent dining. Neat art throughout the facility
Great farm to table brunch. Will be back again
Night started out well, then went down hill fast. Server seemed to ignore us, especially after we had to send steaks back twice. When we sent them back the first time, it was a full 30 minutes before we saw new steaks at our table. Manager initially addressed the issue but didn’t stay on top of it. He was too busy tending bar rather than managing the restaurant, which I found odd. Manager told us re-done steaks will be out in 4 minutes but took another 15 minutes. Ribeye was 1/2 inch think which was disappointing for a restaurant who boasts about their aged cuts. Frankly I’ve had a better ribeye at Ponderosa from the old days. In the end, manager did comp the steaks but and appalogized but didn’t defend his restaurant or ask us to give them another chance. It was a full hour and 45 minutes from the time we sat down till the time we ate our steaks. Terrible. Too bad because the atmosphere was nice. On another note. I would suggest they not allow parked cars park outside of the greenhouse - they block the view of the beautiful property. This place needs new management to change the things that need changing.
The old house and grounds are amazing.. Food and service was very good. We had a great time.
Newly minted Franklin immigrants from our former home in Texas a wonderful evening. Hannah superb light and airy evening. Thursday great quiet leisurely always the place for recent arrivals or out of towners!
I saw their one page add for this farm to table restaurant in Nashville Business Journal.
My meal- over cooked biscuits and over cooked fried chicken. Veggies were good, however.
Coffee was below average, no soy or almond milk
Her meal- salad was fine.
Service was great and atmosphere was very, very nice with a lot of history. Bar was very nice albeit very expensive. 1 bourbon (standard shot) ,1 glass of wine and 1 bottle of beer - $52 with tip. App was sausage balls which were very tasty. For dinner, I had the scallops and while they were good, I felt shorted by getting only 3. They were also stingy with the cheese grits that came with. My wife ordered the filet and was clear that she was fine with it being pink but did not want it bloody. The server talked her into starting with medium and if she wanted it done more, it was no problem to send it back. It came out medium rare. The server took it back to the kitchen and came back a short while later and it was still too rare for her to eat. She did not send it back again. All in all, it was a cool place to visit but for $190, we expected our meal to impress more and be more enjoyable.
