My husband and I met friends for dinner between Harry Potter shows. What a perfect location for that; directly across the street from the theater and easily accessible for any theater-goers. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and delicious. We tried a number of different items from salad and soup to rolls to sushi. Not crazy expensive, either! Will definitely go again when we're in NYC>
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in awhile
Still the best go-to before or after a Broadway show. Always rock solid.
Food was good and the restaurant is in a great location. Cost factors for New York is what I expected.
I would eat there again.
Wonderful selections very accommodating for items not on the menu. Excellent service
Good food good atmosphere. Recommend for any occasion.
Waiting 20 minutes to be seated... One hour to get the food. Filet mignon arrived cold and doesn’t worth the price
My friends had a great time
Haru Sushi was a last minute reservation for us and we were very pleasantly surprised: quality of the sushi and entrees and the attentive, professional service. It was a very cold night and we lucked out: a comfy booth away from the windowed front of the restaurant. There are so many touristy restaurants in The Times Square area and Haru Sushi is definitely a gem!
Recommended dishes: rainbow roll, eel/avocado roll, chicken tonkatsu, Gramercy roll, Brussel sprouts, mochi ice cream and the tempura cheesecake. The house hot sake was sweet and flavorful, great value.
Delicious food, not too expensive for a Manhattan Times Sq restaurant. Everything came out quickly and the service was good
Came here for valentines before a broadway show. Everything was amazing, the food, the speed of service. We were seated in a back room, which was quiet but once we were walking out we realized the main room was really loud! Sushi was really good, definitely try the crab dumplings as well!
Excellent dishes in an excellent atmosphere. Easy walk from Times Square yet I can tell it's a fave of locals. We showed up early for our reservation & they were very accommodating. It's a must on our trips to the city.
Very fishy, unsophisticated sushi. Slow service.
I dine here frequently, I find that the food is wonderful!
Every single time I go to Haru I forget I have been there before and am thoroughly disappointed with the high prices and ridiculously small amount of fish. I am very petite and have a small appetite, and I am always hungry when I leave even when we order a lot. Choose literally any other sushi place.
I didn’t find the food as good as usual

Excellent! A little tight seating wise, but its Manhattan :) Will def be back!
Chaotic and impersonal environment. Food okay but not amazing.

Delicious. Fun atmosphere. Great location for our show.
We come here regularly. Good and service are always good and consistent. Reservations recommended as it gets very busy at lunch time.
only during restaurant week otherwise costs are very high
We came because of restaurant week. The dinner menu including 3 course, none of them are taste. The rolls were fine, but sushis were terrible. Won’t come again
We went early so it was fairly empty and quiet. The food was spectacular, the service couldn't be better, and the ambiance lovely. It was my birthday with a special place to celebrate.
We had 1 hour to eat before a show so we decided not to have appetizers. We ordered 4 rolls to share that arrived after 15-20 minutes which was fine.
The food was good, decent Sushi, nothing out of the ordinary. Once the restaurant files up around 5:30 the noise level rose drastically and it was hard to have a regular conversation at the table
If you like Sushi along with a nice atmosphere and surroundings, this is the place. Lunch specials are really great!!!
Yummy yummy sushi. My go to place. Especially during happy hour more bang for your buck!
Food- Over the top
Wine/Alcohol- Fabulous Selection
Ambience- Perfect, a humming vibe and you can hear the people at your table
ABSOLUTELY WHERE YOU SHOULD GO BEFORE THE THEATER!!!!!
Dinner before Broadway Show.
This was my second visit to Haru. It’s convenient for pre-theatre and the food is good; however, this time the service, although prompt, seemed dismissive and, with the tables so close together, the loud woman sitting next to us made it difficult for my dinner companion and I to hear each other. Might have been a fluke. I’ll go one more time to see if it can redeem itself.
Too crowded. Not enough space between table. People talk too loud. Not interested in other people’s “problems” (both side of our table).

We've dined at Haru Sushi many times and have always been very pleased. Can get a bit crowded but credit that to the fact that they are doing a great job. We usually enjoy their small bites, appetizers, miso soup, sometimes noodles, and the food is consistently delicious. Tuna Tataki is outstanding. Lobster tacos really good but like any taco they crumble and fall apart but still manage to eat every morsel. Highly recommend this convenient restaurant with good service nice ambiance and great tastes.
I love this restaurant. Amazing food and great cocktails
Great food and service. I’ve always had a good experience there.
My wife and I have been to Haru many times and have loved it in the past however this visit was different. The ambiance and environment was uncomfortable and the food was just plain bad. It felt lazy...one of our favorite appetizers was messy and had no taste. Not sure if there is new mgt. or ownership but for $120 we were hoping for a lot better food and experience which wasn't the case during this visit. Hopefully, it was just a bad night but it may be a while until we try it again.

Dellicious. Miso cod, Ceviche tacos, Dragon king roll highlighted the meal. Quick to table, perfect before a show.
Very friendly staff and decent sushi for time square.
I guessing I was expecting a little bit more from this place. The prices are a bit higher than your normal sushi place, but I figured that was justified by the quality of the food and service. However, I was not overly impressed with the sushi, and will probably not return. Hostess also was not terribly friendly, which is the first/last person you meet at a restaurant, so this was a little surprising as well.

Food was excellent! Not a bad price, most of the rolls are about $20 a plate.
Expensive but the food is consistently fantastic. Service a little slow but forces you to enjoy the experience.
I the experience was typical pre-theater, not relaxed dining so very different expectations. Very perfunctory service
