Härth Ratings and Reviews
Sophisticated, sleek lines are a refreshing replacement for the restaurant that previously occupied the space in the McLean Hilton. The luncheon food selections were varied and featured very fresh ingredients used in interesting flavor combinations that awaken the senses. Portions are reasonable to generous. The staff is friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. Harth is definitely a place worth visiting frequently to sample their ever changing menu.
It's hard to believe the beautiful space when you walk into the non-descript hotel, but do not be fooled. The service from the valets, bartender, host staff and wait staff is excellent. The bar was quite lively and we started there with a martini before dinner. The bartenders were very attentive and the drinks quite tasty.
We spent so much time in the bar we arrived for dinner about 35 minutes late and the hostess could not have been more welcoming and cheery. We were seated at a lovely table that offered us a great view of the beautifully decorated restaurant. I have been a few times and enjoyed it and took a good friend there. We loved the bacon jam with the bread and our meal was spectacular. I can't wait to go back!
This was our third visit to Harth. We were disappointed that the menu has not changed yet, so our choices were limited. As before, the sides (kale, sweet potato, brussel sprouts,) were wonderful...and the salads continue to rock! Our entrees (chicken and pork chop) were dry and overcooked (despite my plea to the waitstaff that the chop be prepared medium rare...a request, we were told, that was REJECTED by the kitchen!...REALLY???) We are looking forward to the spring menu.
We went there for brunch. As always the food was top notch however we had inattentive slow service. It took 25 min to get our meal. We were not asked if we wanted more coffee, it took at least ten minutes to clear our plates and we were still not asked if we wanted more coffee.
We went there for a Sunday brunch and choose to have the buffet. We placed our order at 10:45 and when we went back 20 minutes later for seconds, they were removing the food and there was nothing left in the serving dishes. This was my second visit there and must say that I was quite disappointed in the fact that the wait staff did not convey the timing to us.
My first time at Harth was a pleasant surprise in the middle of surburbia. Gorgeous hotel re do and the restaurant is the gem. Fabulous design, the fireplaces are a lovely twist on a freezing day and a nice restaurant buzz. Food was slightly less exciting.. the frisee salad was a bit heavy handed, the poached egg a little overcooked and the chicken livers too overcooked. The flatbread was quite tasty. although not very special but the main course rockfish was very nicely prepared. The sweet and sour brussel sprouts were basically raw- chef should follow the new roasted brussels trend! Great wine list and fun way to choose a la ipad.
We had dinner on a Friday around 6PM, not too crowded, I suppose that had to do with the relatively early seating, but something tells me this place does not get too packed. The restaurant is located within the recently renovated Hilton. They did a really nice job with the lobby and the restaurant. Excellent ambiance for an intimate dinner and larger tables for a small party.
The food was good the service was excellent. Great wine list (although this whole iPad wine menu fad is a bit unnecessary). I would come back to try other items from their menu. Not to knock their food whatsoever, however I think I enjoyed the environment better than the food. But that bacon jam is worth coming back for.
The wife and I went for Valentine's Day and it was our first time. We were excited to try different things on the menu we'd been looking at online in anticipation, but neglected to account for the fact that, of course, the Valentine's Day menu would be paired down. And priced up! The food was good, but not awe inspiring, which, for $200 (what the bill came to with tip), it should be. I will say that we both LOVED their homemade bacon jam. Trust me.
I had a four course dinner with wine. The pairing was nice. The food was only good because it was very standard fare. Lobster tails, filet, chicken and duck, pasta, were some of the items on the menu. I had scallops with mashed potatoes and greens. What the drew me to the restaurant was the idea of local, and the bees. However, I am not certain I had the opportunity to have anything local in my dish. Perhaps the greens. Everything else was definitely not local. I never had anything that had honey which was an expectation. So, the food was good, but nothing surprising and nothing notably local.
My lavender and honey ice cream had ice crystals - - and didn't taste all that different from my husband's vanilla ice cream - - unfortunately this is my final impression of this beautifully decorated restaurant.
The banquette seating is not all that comfortable - - - adding pillows for back support didn't seem to work.
I decided to make reservations to surprise my husband with a romantic dinner for two for a combination celebration of our anniversary and Valentine's Day. Harth was chosen based on reviews, but since we drove from Fredericksburg, arrived anxious to have an enjoyable experience.
It is an understatement to say that our evening at Harth was exceptional! The food was delicious, fresh and innovative twists on classics. and the extensive wine list will leave even the most particular guest satisfied. Dessert was spectacular, and one selection was more than adequate for sharing. Don't miss this new diamond in Tyson's Corner. It was well worth the drive!
I can't believe we never knew this restaurant was there and we lived down the street for two years. It is amazing food for very good value and the service is absolutely fantastic, from the bar to the restaurant to the front desk staff, this hotel is a great place to spend a special occasion. One warning: there is NO French wine.
The food was good, but there is limited choice if you're not a beef/pork eater. Many things have bacon. We had a reservation for 6:15 on a Saturday evening. We needed to dine somewhat quickly, because we had to be downtown for a play by 8:00. Despite plenty of empty tables, we were seated in the far back in front of a waiter's station, which was behind a curtain, but very noisy. We asked to be seated at another table, but were told that they were completely booked that evening and the far table was the only one available for us. When we left an hour later, many of the tables were still empty. Given that we had limited food choices and were treated shoddily by the host staff, we'll probably not go back. BTW, our waitress was excellent.
We visited this restaurant twice: dinner on a weekend night and lunch on a weekday. Both times, the most memorable part of our experience was the noise level. It was so loud that my friend could only read my lips across the table. It's a convenient location for nearby business professionals and residents, but if you want to have a conversation, make sure to warm up your vocal cords before going there because it will be working overtime. Overall, the food quality is good to fair. The service is so-so. The decor is nice and the gas flames add a cozy feeling. Many customers have suggested they do something to absorb the noise particularly when it's crowded, but who knows when that will happen. Meanwhile, many are staying away from the noise.
very pleasant experience. Nice changes to the atmosphere. the mussels were very good. I had the margharita flat bread. the crust was good but the sauce a little bland. my husband enjoyed the mushroom flatbread. wine selection was good. More people than I expected for Monday which was good since its large enough to hold a big crowd. service was good but the waitress spoke very softly and had an accent that made it hard to hear sometimes.
Finding a great place for business lunches can some times be a challenge in Tysons. Harth is a pleasant surprise for delicious, fresh food in a sophisticated, professional environment. This was a welcome change to the eateries commonly frequented for business lunches and left us all eager to go back. Hope to become a regular.
