Harth - Hilton Westchester Ratings and Reviews
I was very disappointed with Mother's Day brunch: it was overpriced and underperforming. There were no options for vegetarians or vegans. I had to ask for a plate of pancakes as there was no waffle station. The salmon was overcooked; there were two vegetable options as side dishes. there was a small bowl of salad with shredded carrots and I think shredded cabbage to add to that small bowl of salad. There was only a bowl of orange slices offered for fruit. The manager assured me that he would have more fruit put out; it never made it to the table. For 40 dollars a person plus gratuity and tip this was not worth it.
This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had!! Four of seven entree items on the menu were not available (at 8:15 PM), leaving only three items. It took forever to get served both our first courses and our entrees---the latter coming only after complaining about the slow service to the manager of the restaurant. Even then, one of the entrees was not served until the first two people were finished eating theirs-----an unacceptable delay!! The wait staff was both incompetent and indifferent as well.
A beauty in terms of interesting menu, with a lot of great choices for every foodie, and the food was delicious; very good service that remained consistent throughout the meal, and best part, it isn't noisy so you can enjoy your conversation with your friends or family! I will definitely refer friends here and will return often. Loved the fact that the dishes were so unique and beautifully presented. And I used to work for Gourmet Magazine, so I know good food!
SERVICE WAS JUST OK/THE WAITER COULD HAVE BEEN MORE ATTENTIVE. NOISE LEVEL WAS NOT GOOD. SOCCER MATCH WAS GOING ON AND THERE WAS UNDERSTANDABLY A LOT OF CHEERING AND SCREEMING FROM THE BAR AREA. EVERYTHING IS OPEN SO IT WAS TOO NOISY!MY HUSBAND AND I WERE LOOKING FOR AN INTIMATE MEAL. THEY NEED A GLASS PARTITION TO CUT DOWN ON THE NOISE IF THEY WANT TO KEEP THE OPEN FEEL. I ENJOYED MY MEAL BUT MY HUSBAND'S HALIBUT WAS OVERCOOKED. HOUSE WINE WAS VERY GOOD!
We were very disappointed in this restaurant. First, the menu posted online did not match the menu presented in the restaurant. If the actual menu had been posted online, we would have chosen a different restaurant. As it was, the entrées we had both decided we wanted were no longer on the menu. Next, our waiter was unable to accommodate a simple drink order, and got it wrong despite explicit instructions. Next, the restaurant is open to the hotel lobby; in fact, guests must pass THROUGH the restaurant to reach the rear patio. There was an event going on out back, and very loud guests walked past our table continually throughout the meal. The food was good, but the service and ambiance were seriously lacking. We won't be returning.
Harth is a hidden gem. Hands down the best hotel restaurant we've ever experienced. Can't believe it's a hotel restaurant; it's worthy of its own stand-alone location. Some people tell me Westchester has no real good food. Harth proves them wrong. We happily drive over from Nyack, a great food location, to eat at Harth. Do not miss this place!
I made an 8:45 reservation for the night of our arrival. While we seated quickly and our order was taken the staff disappeared. In the mean time the burger had exploded over my husband clothes and my husband left to change clothes in the car and returned. When we explained the issue to the server we had a manger come over and make amends. We also had two other meals there (since we were a captive audience) with the lackadaisical service.
Our party of 13 experienced complete HELL here. Open Table featured a brunch menu along with seating times & what the brunch included at Harth & they blamed OPEN TABLE!!!!! They said they had no idea about a Mother's Day Buffet with seating times. We said everything was listed on the hotels website. They denied it. They were so unprofessional. They just kept on blaming OPEN TABLE. We should have gotten this all for FREE considering what we went though. This was such a beyond horrific experience for me & my entire family. I spread the word of everything that happened to friends & extended family. It's also horrible that Harth is placing all the blame on OPEN TABLE look so very bad. My family & I should have been treated a lot better.
Turned up and they didn't have the advertised menu. Basically they took our 1130am lunch booking but when we arrived they looked put out because they were still serving breakfast. The menu they offered us was very very limited. So we left and went somewhere else. Shame because we've eaten here before and the food wasn't bad.
We had soup ( too salty) and a flatbread ( tasty) but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at the Hearth, although the wait staff was friendly and efficient. The entire hotel--Hilton--looks like it needs a makeover. If you're in the area and need a place to eat , it's o.k.
When you come in, you notice the Ambience. The service is quick and the food is very good. I have been there several times
and everything that I and my wife tried has been outstanding. You could go just two or a group of 10 or 12. Mid-range pricing.
If you like good food and drink you will come back too.
We receive a Groupon as a gift from a friend for Harth. Upon arrival, we were given a different menu for Groupon users with additional up charges. Never have we experienced that before. Very quiet we were only 1 of 4 tables being served and they messed up my daughter salad 3 times.
Won't be going back.
It was our first time there.
The service was great and the food followed suit. Wait staff very polite and engaging. Food was pretty and tasty! It was a nice birthday dinner! Wood fired pizzas were gourmet and incredible. Entrees were large portions and extremely well thoughtout. I loved the salmon and parpadelle pasta entrees.
I actually have been here before for their groupon deal. The ambiance they set there is pretty nice. Warm friendly environment makes for really nice romantic dinners. The menu is full of amazing choices. The night we went was for Hudson Valley / Westchester's restaurant week. My fiance and I had the braised short ribs and the PEI mussels. The beef pulled apart almost effortlessly and the mussels were amazing. I have two more groupons to use for this place so I will be there again, definitively.
It's very rare that I would dine at a hotel restaurant, but with the Hudson Valley Restaurant week deal, I found myself booking a table with 3 friends at The Harth. We were definitely happy with our meal and think differently about dining at a hotel restaurant.
The mussels and flatbread appetizers were delicious. The beer braised beef short ribs were tender and very tasty. the S'mores pizza with Nutella was perfect to end the night!
After reading reviews on here I thought this would be a nice place to try. It is in the Hilton which normally the chain has very good restaurants inside. The restaurant is a lobby one with no separation from the hotel. The staff is the best part of this place and are very friendly and welcoming. The decor is nice also. The food however is very over priced and bland. I got the rib-eye steak and it didn't seem to have much flavor. Also the potatoes taste like they were instant. The had a small beer selection and I am pretty sure it came from a bottle as it was warm by the time I got it. My party had the same feelings. Its sad with good food (or lower prices for what they offer) this place could be a lot better.
Unbeknownst to us, the hotel was host to "Lunacon". We were told by our waiter (after being seated for over 20 minutes) that our bets chance of eating in a timely manner was if we helped ourselves to the (limited) buffet. He said the kitchen was backed up and he couldn't guarantee us service in under an hour. Not worth the effort of parking!
We came in with a dinner groupon, but since they don't server dinner on sunday the management was very courteous in letting us use it for lunch. The service was a little slow, but the food was first-rate. I would recommend any of the appetizers. The waitress and manager were very accommodating.
My wife and I went for a Saturday night dinner hoping for some great food and were completely dissatisfied with this place. It was right in the hotel lobby. Not a separate space from the hotel. I order my steak medium rare and it came medium well. We ordered a side of asparagus that never made it to the table. Then as if it weren't enough when the waiter cleared our plates, he dropped the knife, missing my foot and ending up right inside my purse! Needless to say we will not be returning and not recommending this place to anyone.
